It seems like we did have some beta testers... check the "NEW" Civ IV forums and see what they aren't saying
        Keep on Civin'

Read Solvers preview in the CIV IV General section, he really did a great job with the write up.

Chcek out Solvers preview, and I know a couple of guys who are wroking for Firaxis. One of them told me he thinks it will at least be a great game and could be a blockbuster. he is a contractor for Firaxis and no fanboi. He specifically went to work for them to make sure the MP portion was done right, and he was one of the top CIV III ladder players for years.

I think we are going to be at least happier with this version than we were with CIV III.

                Hopefully

lol I wasn't aware that civ3 even had a ladder, let alone an MP following. I think there were a total of 2 people who played civ3 MP.

It was pretty unplayable... which is why many of us still play Civ II

Here's hoping we get a new Civ MP game that is playable and enjoyable.

There is actually quite a CIV III MP following at the ladder, some darn good players too.

                          @Ming

Ya it does have a lot of bugs to this day in MP (CIV III)

Link for the civ3 ladder? I doubt it is even remotely close to the popularity of what the civ2 ladder was. Especially since people still play civ2 Mp to this day.

Actually from the previews I read it sounds similiar to the previews I read for Civ III.

                              "Revolutionary"

All sorts of new and improved concepts.

Like I said I preordered it, and I am hopeful, but I am getting the feeling I am gonna be disappointed.

I think most of the hardcore MP'ers were looking for an improved version of Civ II and instead we got a new game.

Civ IV is sounding to me something like an improved Civ III crossed with a new game.

                              Well whats $50 anyways?

I am speaking here without ever even owning the MP version, but, it was my understanding that MP in civ III was painfully long and that MP had basically become PBEM.
