Ok, we've had som sort of a breakthrough in the quest. Upon sending the petition letter over to another eager soul wishing to carry on the torch, I did some googling. I came across something that could be an email address to Brian Reynolds. I sent the petition letter to him, and within 6 hours I had a reply. Before I continue, in order to not have to cross post from Civfanatics to Apolyton, I'll continue posting on this issue at CivFan, which was also were the latest intiative came from. So, the sotry continues here:

I've done some changes to the inital letter, adjusted it to fit in Reynolds' endorsement, and various other changes, and will send it on Monday. I figure it will be easier to spot our email when the Firaxis PR & Marketing director checks the mail box Monday morning.
