They're rebuilding Japan after the US invaded with 500,000 men. They won't be featured in any sense besides maybe some mentions in text popups.

@Sarsstock: The Mexican Guerilla is yet to be made, but he'll be a grisly fellow. All that riding in the desert will do that to a man.

Dave Austin is pretty much finished but requires some work to bring him up to par with the units we currently have on the forums.

    • Is it just me or is anybody else intrigued by the possiblity of maybe a prequel after AEII is finished and added to the Scenario League's HOF. An 'Operation Olympic' scenario definately gets the blood pumping thru my alcohol dialated veins.

      • Interesting as that may be.... I'm personally looking forward to "AEIII: For King and Country" after this. The reason is that even if the American player in "Price of Freedom" can not only hold the line against Germany but push him back into the Atlantic, this won't solve the problem that Nazi Germany will still exist, in a severly weakened state of course but still she will exist.

"King and Country" however if it does take place on the European map as HT has said it would, would provide us the human player to have the ability to possibly right this wrong of history and rid the European continent of the black stain of Nazi Germany.

Can this be done? Who knows..... only time will tell my friends.

Hang on a minute. You modded my WW2 US infantry by cutting and pasting my British helmets on to them. Now you're suggesting cutting and pasting the US helmets back on to them?

                • Well, I do agree that the best way to maintain the units integrity would be to use Gareth's original graphics Harry, I'm sure Gareth could supply you with the orignials for this if you don't already have them.

Even still, I can't see the US Army sending any troops into battle wearing pre-1941 helmets in the year 1948.

hmm, some use may still come from the marines though, what type of rifle did the U.S. use during this period?

                    • I have a question about Cavalry's role in a conflict such as this, even though it looks like your pretty settled in on the unit selection at the moment. Have you thought about including a sort of mounted American scounting unit which would have alpine movment abilties? Despite the use of machine guns, armored vehicles and jet bombers, I would think horse mounted units could make good use on both the American and German side of the wide open stretches of terrain in the South Western US.

                      • Well since the Allies will have a jeep recon I think I'll have to pass on the mounted scout idea. The AI would more than likely fail to use them correctly and to have two recon units is just to much. I'm pretty sure the American player will have a good idea of where the German army is with all the cities scattered about. Good idea though. If I didn't already add the jeep I would have put it in.

                        • Well come to think of it the Jeep does make more sense. I mean with the half a million units that were made during the war in addition to the thousands of additional ones made in the interwar years, I'm sure there would be no problem supplying each and every scouting unit with a jeep.

                          Good call .

                            • That list of completion is pretty impressive when you take into account the fact that you were essentially starting with a new map, new units with new stats, almost entirely new graphics and not to mention what will be one tricky events file.
