I love the scenario, I was playing as the US, but used all those recruits to garrison mountains throughout South Vietnam. I felt pretty frustrated at points due to the 'no fire, no fly' rule, but that's what I expected to happen. This is definitely the most realistic Vietnam scenario I've seen. I'd recommend that people play as North Vietnamese so that they can conquer some territory, rather than as the US, where you can only kill VC units when they appear. From the US perspective, I think this is an accurate representation of the war, as you can't actually 'win' the war, unless the Laotians capture North Vietnamese cities, and then you take them.
Overall' it's a great representation of the complexities of the Vietnam War. Good job!"You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye Who cheer when soldier lads march by, Sneak home and pray you'll never know The hell where youth and laughter go." -- Siegfried Sassoon, 'Suicide in the Trenches'

Thanks for the glowing review! Now what needs to be done is to get it put in permanent archive in one of the Civ sites. My only two archived scens were uploaded for me by someone else, so I'm not certain who I need speak to or what hoops I need jump through. Can anyone help me with this?

I've just noticed a problem in the scenario as I was playing it as the North Vietnamese this morning. A US SOG, a scout unit with no attack and the 'Attack' domain, like the Explorer from basic Civ2, bribed a VC Militia. This shouldn't be possible, should it? Can anyone explain?

Perhaps you could leave it, I think the US did used to do things like bribe people, sabotage buildings etc. in Vietnam. Though I seem to remember when I accidently tried to attack (!) with the SOG unit, it just displayed the usual "units with an attack of 0" notice as opposed to the one for diplomats/spies... who knows, perhaps the A/I is cheating"You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye Who cheer when soldier lads march by, Sneak home and pray you'll never know The hell where youth and laughter go." -- Siegfried Sassoon, 'Suicide in the Trenches'

The AI is a known cheater: when playing at deity level (I think!), the AI can sometimes bribe units with a non-diplomatic unit!Ankh-Morpork, we have an orangutan...

Sorry for the delay.
@vodkakov and Cyrion:
It's definitely cheating. The SOG is firmly set to 'Attack.'
@SetuSinger:
No, there is actually currently no event that does that. As it stands, you have to watch the turns yourself. Sorry about that. Something to improve in v1.1.
