Hey Winterfritz, you still around?
This is an exceptionally good scenario. It took me rather a long time to get around to playing it (a year!) and I'm not sure 'Fritz is still active - but it's worth saying all the same.
The civs are well chosen, the tech tree is very well researched and fits together nicely and in a bug-free manner. The whole thing is very evocative of the Warring States / Spring and Autumn period, and allows you to unify China by the time of the Qin / Han Dynasties, pretty much as was the case historically.
Unit choice is spot on, with all the Chinese civs sharing a common unit progression of increasingly effective defensive and offensive troops. Historically they are accurate as well, with infantry, chariotry, archers and crossbowmen making an appearance. One quibble would be the use of trebuchets this early - I think the traction trebuchet was a later Chinese invasion and the full-on counterweight version didn't make an appearance until the middle ages; small matter though. The odd-man-out civ, the northern barbarian Hsiung-Nu, are a pretty tough bunch to contend with, as was the case in this period.
Minor quibbles: I would give the impassable terrain a distinctive icon (I've made it a mountain in the attached unit set). The barb cities on the South China coast behaved pretty strangely in my game - they build dozens of elephants which caused them to be obliterated when I had defeated the last one in each city. I'm not sure if much could be done about this though, given The Civ barb AI (?).
All told, this scenario reminded me of the level of historical detail and gameplay polish of a Kull or Stefan Haertel scenario. It deserves to be played
I made a quick-and-dirty alternate unit set for those interested, and replaced the cities with Curt's wonderful icons:

Should we add it to the conversion project? Alex, if you're around, would you mind doing your thing with the CivConverter?

Excellent idea. I have 15-bit originals of some of the gfx already, and Curt's cities were originally posted as 15-bit, so no need to use the FW/MGE palette versions of the gfx posted above.
