    @Harry Tuttle:

    If I remember, there are 2 scenarios about Greek colonization , if you're interestedto play them: the famous "Hellas" (not only about colonization)by John Ellis (no need more) and "Greek Colonization" by Goingoinit
    Just for info:
    (Readme for Greek Colonization by Goingonit MGE REQUIRED!!!!!
    This is a scenario of the Greek colonization of the Mediterranean from roughly 700-500 B.C. You play a greek polis, or city-state, or Ionia, another ethnically Greek region in Turkey. This is a very open-ended scenario, with no objectives, but standard civ scoring. Reccomendedcivs are Ionians, Corinthians, and Spartans, and reccomended difficulties are King and up, but the full force of unhappiness kicks in at Deity.)

    @vawrnos: ended the question about map, I'll wait for your scenario, and other people too, and we're very interested.
    No matter somebody else had already done scenarios more or less concerning about colonization: new scenarios - IMHO - are always WELCOME.
    Have a good job!

    @Mercatore:
    I'm really not good to make my own maps, I like those you're in your site , but... what about I'll make you a specific (particular, hope not so difficult) request... little project...
    "Dilexi iustitiam, odivi iniquitatem, propterea morior in exilio" [PAPA GREGORIUS VII +1085] - ("He amado la justicia, he odiado la iniquidad, por eso muero en exilio") - ("I loved justice, I hated unfairness, that's why I die in exile") - (J'ai aimé la justice, j'ai détesté l'iniquité, c'est pourquoi je meurs en exil") - ("Ich liebte Gerechtigkeit und hasste Ungerechtigkeit, deshalb sterbe ich im Exil")

      Well, I really don't make maps anymore... Ahem... I don't plan on making this a habit anyway. But you can always PM me, and I'll see what I can do.

          OK varwnos, here are two maps. You can probably best mail/PM me for further details, so to speak (I don't want to ruin this thread any more than I've already done)... Or to insult me and use your own map anyway.

            I wasn't trying to insult you, perhaps you wouldnt like it either if i had made a comment like that when you were announcing your idea :P

            anyway i will look at your maps, here is one i made:

            my main criterion is the space in the Pelloponese and south-central Greece, since most of the cities i am interested in are there, so there is no use having vast lands in the balcans, since they wont be important (although there are vast useless balcan lands in the map i made now...)

            ps: ok, i admit that the first map i made sucked, but its always more productive not to yell that it sucks

              Aren't you missing the 'toe' of the boot of Italy there? Some of the coastlines also look a bit strange with those fingers of land jutting out. Don't take this to heart - it's meant to be constructive criticism

                You missed the point fairlne, i posted the map for a different reason, which is why i said that i will look at mercatore's maps also. and his first map is out of the question

                the other one is very nice though

                  I know you weren't insulting me, but as you say, I wouldn't blame you if you did.

                  No... Although I could have made a little more constructive criticism... I will refrain from any comments on that second one then, unless you want me to.

                  I think I can make my second map a little bit bigger still, but only if you don't mind cutting off half of Sicily.

                  Let me know when you've decided, so I can finish the map (or not).

                    hm, well ideally the top of italy isnt needed, and i need the black sea, so the map can't be really made unless it isnt horizontal. but i have already placed terrain in your map#2 and started the scen with it ty

                    Tanelorn, can you post a link to a map with ancient cities in the region? (Greece, Italy, sicily, Black sea, Asia Minor, Thrace, Macedonia) i placed most of them in the south, all of them in sicily, and some in Italy, but the map still is quite empty..

                    also i can't find where Locris was, since it seems to have had two regions, one next to the northern tip of Euboea, and one near Naupaktos..

                        OK... But I hadn't finished it yet. There are still lots of rivers missing. And if you're already done placing the terrain, there's no way that's gonna be any good.

                        But I understand you don't want to wait weeks, since you were doing just fine without my help...

                          @ Mercator: If you're very eager to make a map, please drop me a PM and maybe you can help me.. That is if you want to make a large map that I need for my project.. I know it's a theme you're interested in..

                            @ mercatore: really, i dont see what the point is in having this attitude, dont worry about the terrain, you wont get to see it if you dont dl the finished scen anyway

                            i decided on the 7 sides:

                            1) Athena (athens)
                            2) Sparte (sparta)
                            3) Korinthos (corinth)
                            4) Miletos (with Phocaea probably)
                            5) Independants
                            6) Italiotai (italian colony supremacy side, Sybaris + Elea + Metapontium + Syracuse later on)
                            7) Central powers (not Germany and Austria-Hungary, but Thebes + Megara + Chalkis and a lot of colonies)

                                OK, OK... I'm sorry, it's your scenario. I'm just a little fanatic when it comes to maps.
