  • Is that the sound of many Prussian and Saxon troops I hear approaching?

    Yep!

Kaiser gets out tonight, or early tommorow, depending on your timezone!

All sounds done, text made and units placed:

I am just doing some last-minute checks,
upload it to some server space, then it is playtest time!

    Have your gas mask ready!

          • Valetta has been owned by the British since 1800. You should know more about your own past, Curt

Finland didn't exist yet, so Helsinki should be owned by the Russians.

Denmark was neutral during the war, so Copenhagen should be owned by the free nations. Reykjavik and Fredrikshavn, too.

I don't recall any particular rebellions in Saigon or Padang at the time, so Saigon should be Entente and Padang, Batavia, and Bandjarmasin (all Dutch) should be free nations.

Seoul is off a square, I'd move it back to (218, 78.)

Nepal was a British protectorate, so Kathmandu should be owned by the Entente.

            Aden was a British protectorate,

Dijbouti was a French protectorate, so they should be Entente too.

Hope I'm not being too nitpicky, but I can't say I care for the commercial squares...they just don't seem to fit with the rest of the terrain. The black 2D factories just don't cut it.

Germany captured Qingdao in 1877, so that should be owned by the Central Powers. The Japanese captured it in 1914 after they declared war.

If Belgium is an Entente power, why are Kigali and Kigoma free?

How about getting rid of Kaduna and putting Lome (German) in?

            Okay, done whining.

            • Japan did not enter the war until 1917/8, so an alliance with the allies is unrealistic in 1914. The Italians offered me Anti-Central Propaganda, which I really do not need. YOu had that fixed in a previous scenario.

These comments are the reason I post playtests, you are doing your job! Appreciated

                PS
                Damn! I forgot about Valetta!

                @GoPostal:
I will downgrade their relation to peace - but after Aug 1914, anything goes in this scen!

Aha! I forgot to apply the no,no preqs - not a worry.

                  • Also, I believe the Russian flag was similar to that of Scotland, with the colours switched, and a lighter blue.

                    • That was the Napoleonic model of the flag, I think.

It is the Tzarist national flag I am using...

                      • Japan entered the war in 1914 with the attack of "Kiautschou" or "Qingdao" - like rmsharpe wrote.
So from August 1914 Japan should be allied with the Entende.

Informations about the "German city on the yellow sea":

1914 August 15th a Japanese ultimatum, valid 24 hours, to hand over Tsingtau without resistance, remains unanswered. 4800 defenders face a superior force of 65,000 men. On August 23rd, Captain at Sea Meyer Waldeckcables to his Majesty, "Promise we will fulfill our duty to the last moment".
August 27th blockade by British and Japanese ships begins]
September 2nd 1st landing of 2000 British and 2300 Japanese troops
September 26th and 27th British and Japanese troops attack, suffer heavy losses; the attempt to take the fortress fails.
September 28th the colony is taken under siege from the land side, too.
Early October the German garrison resists with determination. The Pilot of Tsingtau, Lt. Plueschow, is extraordinarily valiant, flies bombing attacks against Japanese ships.
October 17th German torpedo boat S 90, commanded by Cpt. Lt. Brunner, breaks through the blockade and sinks Japanese cruiser Takatschio.
from October 29th Kiautschou area taken under artillery fire from land and sea for 9 consecutive days.
October 31st on the occasion of their Emperor's birthday the Japanese try to take the fortress by storm, in vain
November 7 the German defenders run out of ammunition and surrender. The German warships and the Austro-Hungarian cruiser "Kaiserin Elisabeth" are sunk by their own crews. The fortress surrenders under honourable conditions. The garrison is transported to P.O.W. camps in Japan, where they stay for 5 years.
