I cannot do 8hrs either but I do think the start should be accelerated. This can be achieved just by people playing Turns ASAP and ignoring simultaneous moves at the start. It does mean that a 'No War' for first 50 Turns type Rule is introduced or we will have massive arguements.

I reckon just people playing quickly is enough as the Timer will flip anyway. Most of us will be faster at weekends as well so what point in a different clock? 'No War' is a pain as someone who sees that they are trapped will probably have no choice but to hit in the opening stages.

On a side note, when you do put up the game you may want to PM the players and set an extra long timer for the first turn. I doubt everyone involved checks this thread each day.
