  • imho, not

that's what you have a team mate for - he can play your turns. why don't you give him your password?

    • Sabre, I already have the password of Andy and I already played for him. The point is that this is a team game. The funny part of the game is to collaborate and interact with your teammate. Since a war is one of the most interesting parts in the game, it would be a big loss in the game pleasure and interest. That's why we ask to put the game down for 3 weeks.

But perhaps you have a good reason to reject Andy's proposition?

      • you are right, war time is a more interesting part. nonetheless several good reasons:

        1) to date we have not stopped for anybody else's absence, except when dacole's PC went down at christmas and when the whole BigFree topic was being discussed. why stop now, especially as there is an alternative (you)

        2) three weeks is a really long time. soon after that it's summer holiday time and others are bound to be gone. should everybody at war or close to war be allowed to ask for delays? if yes, then we won't get on with this game at all.

        3) most teams consist of only just one player... wouldn't they have a greater right to ask for delays?

        4) last, but not least: we agreed in the beginning, that people should organise their replacements - be it their own team mate or some 3rd party player.

        • Both Proviisori and myself are fine with the game coming down for the next 3 weeks.

            • ephack:
the turn timer ran out after my bedtime and this morning i did not have any time to play. alex managed to get in a few minutes, but only used it for defense and one ship-based bombardment.

we are both ok if you "double-move" this turn, as mornings are the usual time for your turns, which is a time constraint. this problem might reverse whenever the turn timer shifts around again and we don't have any choice.

edit: alex did not move any units except one reinforcement and some workers on the home continent. he'll play the turn together with me when we're both available this late evening.

              • So far everyone except for sabrewolf is okay with a short break.

That being the case, please Dacole can you take the game down?

I'm off now to the airport, just played the turn, see you all when I get back!

                  • I'm OK with taking a break too, my personal life is not that dependent upon this game so yeah, 3 weeks break is just fine

                    • it looks like we've been overruled
oh well... while i still disagree, dacole, go ahead and pause the game at the beginning of the end of this/ beginning of next turn. there are still four players outstanding with over 10 hours to go on the timer.

edit: 10 of 12 players had played last turn (i reminded ephack >6 hours before the turn ran out) and it does not look like the game will be shut down yet. so don't forget to do your turns until dacole decides to shut it down at the end of whichever turn it may be...

                        • or maybe he saw the posts now?

anyhow, quite unfortunate timing to stop in the middle of a turn with only a few hours left and only geo having played...

                          • and it's back again
with 8.25 hours and now only 11 players left!

no wonder i had to face so few units: there were countless wonders, all of which are useless for me (without a state religion) or because they are obsolete. so if anybody is interested in "buying" the old carthagian capital with its four world wonders, i am happy to share for the right price

                            • Hello everybody!

I'm sorry, but why this game didn't stop? I was away for a few days but I didn't bother since we said we would stop the game. And now I come back and I don't play anymore...

So: do we stop the game or not?

I think you better talk with Dacole. If I see an open turn, I sure don't want to miss on it.
