Ok been looking for a new job currently and been away from home still away from home so the game is up left on the 28th and had been to busy to check this post since then. Not sure when i will be back at my home computer. I have saves from when everyone plays so we can go back if you decide to. I vote however to keep moving. We didn't stop for anyone else (including me) so we shouldn't stop now.

How fair trashing a team while both teammates are away on vacation or whatever!

Why not end this game and pronounce Sabrewolf and GeoModder winners, it is obvious anyway where is game is lead to.

As for me I can't handle the 24-hour turn timer successfully to be honest and I keep losing the one turn after the other. I would recommend someone from the fore mentioned team 'leaders' do what they're good at, and wipe out my team while I'm away!!!

Both knew it had started. Both had the opportunity to allow a replacement player (each other or even one of you guys) to take over for the time being.

Besides, I'm only trying to wrap this game up before I am going on vacation.

Well, this game is in a critical turn that can determine the course of the game. Assigning a replacement is not a good idea at all. At this stage the difference between surviving an attack and been annihilated is very indistinct and dependable on the details which a replacement without the knowledge of the situation or the history of this game or the skills, simply might not be able to handle.

I'm sure Andydog had his reasons to ask for the game to be paused and I trust him so far, so for this reason alone I would be perfectly OK with it even if I was in the offensive side.

Where is the sportsmanship anyway?

I would've been cool with the game being down during his absence, unfortunately Dacole wasn't around. In any case, Andy should have asked days before instead of in the nick of time. He knew Dacole is fairly absent, and as far as I know didn't try to contact him for this.

As on sportmanship: I could have left him alone during his absence, but I don't like my people suffering war wariness for nothing.

I guess Andydog should ask for a pause earlier, I agree on that...

as i stated after andy's message the day before his went away, i disagreed with a pausing of the game because just because a single player of a two-player team was going on holidays. (geo stepped in for snoopy, i for pinchak and alex for me)

a few turns later, ephack wrote that he "didn't know it was still continuing". this, despite civstats and my reminder-email. but ok, those two missed turns over that weekend could have been replayed. but that was a full 11 days ago, there's no way we could seriously go back.

but keygen... the fact that ephack has not played a single turn since his return and not replied to the thread either does not really justify you doubting our sportsmanship. what do you expect us to do? stand back? withdraw our troops, abandon our detailed battle plan? stand back until both of them return?

besides, we every turn we had to protect our units because he could have logged in any turn and crushed any units just hanging around unprotected. so tactics-wise not much changed whether they were playing of the city governor...

I can understand your argument in some degree, I suppose it can be frustrating abandoning your plans for three weeks and then have to remember every little detail you had in mind at first, but still, I don't think it's polite to decline Andydog's request for pausing the game, I'm sure he had his reasons, and I don't think it's fair neither for Andydog/Ephack nor the rest of the teams to eliminate a team while both teammates are away (or at list the one as we all thought at first).

The proper reaction in my humble opinion would be either stop the operations against Andy/Ephack and when things get clear resume the game at the time when all the confusion started, or continue your operations but at list clearly state the situation here and discuss whether we should restart or not.

i had posted that i accepted the majority decision of pausing the game. but as dacole had not stopped the game, there was no way i'd miss those turns. after all, everybody else played, even you for the first 5-6 turns since those posts.

but you're still getting something wrong: not both were away, but just one player. the other just refused to continue on after he had been eliminated in 7 swift turns, of which he played the first four and was in a completely hopeless situation). from my point of view, ephack chose not to play for spain.

i personally was not at all happy with that choice and would have preferred that he'd log in and resign and at least let the AI fight it out. it is absolutely no fun firing against standing targets (although the outcome would not have changed... quite the opposite, any counterattacks would have made it easier to capture the leftover cities...).

Ok Gah. It is so much fun dealing with several different people and their ideas and plans. I think rather than just the CMN hosting a game should be called CMN, Judge and Jury Law and Order. Anyway......

I am back now, the game is down because I took it down. What does everyone want to do from here? I would hate to let the game die. Has everyone returned from their three week vacation (refrains from talking about cultures that allow three week vacations - yes I'm a capitalist)? Other than not letting the game die as I haven't played in months I have no opinon.

I hopefully am not absent to often, I did have an interview four + hours away which is why I was gone. I did not know what I was getting into when I decided to host this but I do hope I have done so adequetly (I myself don't think I have done so well but the second time I do it I will certinaly know better how to). For one thing I will be checking this thread on a daily basis...

Well, putting the game down at this stage doesn't benefit anyone. Both Andydog and Ephack civs have been conquered and so they're eliminated from the game.

I'd say put it up again, unless everybody else becomes humble vassals of the Imperial Empire!
