            • I'm starting my turn now- apologies for the delay!

Hey no one mention we struck the new world exploring the seas to the north!

And apparantly there is a rather well established barbarian city there! They even made roads and mines!

              • 1660- Given the nature of the find to the north it was decided to focus all efforts towards claiming and colonizing the rich new land to the north, using our veteran Keshiks to 'vacate' the area of any natives...

Thus the number one priority became developing a sea vessel large enough to transport troops and settlers abroad... We put the current research on replaceable parts aside and set forth a new project on astronomy- we can always continue researching the replaceable parts at another time.

                • 1665- Alexander of the Greeks arrives for a diplomatic meeting. He request Open Borders treaty which we agree to, and he discloses that he has already discovered a way to build Universities... unfortunatel he is not willing to trade such a technology at this time...

                  • We also begin scouting out the barbarian city in 1665:

Our generals indicate that the defenses are pathetic

                    • 1670 - A few key banks are completed giving us alot more money.

Oh and aren't we lucky? A new source of iron discovered just outside Turfan!

1675 - Settler completed in the capitol. Infrastructure improvements around the nation

                      • 1680 - We discover a village on a hill in the lands to the north... can't wait till we can land some troops there to explore this village

1685 - The Egyptians who are pleased with us have offered to trade us Education for Gunpowder and 590 gold. I agree to this because Education is something like 500 beakers more valuable than Gunpowder and the sooner we can start building those universities the more it pays off ! Thanks Egypt!

1690 - Astronomy is researched, work begins immediately on a galleon. We continue research on replaceable parts.

1695 - We started upgraded some of our Keshiks to Knights, in anticipation of an invasion to the north

1700 - Replaceable parts researched, start learning the secrets of Economics (and hope we are the first ones so we get a free great Merchant)

We also gather an army on the northernmost tip of Mongolia, awaiting the galleon to bring them to the barbarian city!

Also, a Great Scientist - Isaac Newton- is born in Moscow. I send him to Karakorum to add him as a permanent citizen to boost research but it turns out I wouldn't have enough time under my reign, so the next person gets to decide what to do with him

1705 - Most advanced civilizations of the world is published, we're 3rd. Not bad guys!

                        • That's it for me. The galleon will be done next turn so the next player gets to have some fun!

                          Good luck, John-SJ!

                          • Hi all,

I knew I would not be available tomorrow as that will be a very busy day due to personal family matters. What I did not anticipate is that tomorrow's activities are going to consume my time tonight as well.

So, since I will not be available 'til Friday, and maybe Saturday, I would like to pass my turn along this one time. I should be able to play next time as usual.

                            Thanks.

                            • Sure John-SJ, I'll take my turn tonight then after work then.

                              • 1710 - Send Great Scientist to St. Pete which has the 2nd highest science production to make an academy. Our galleon completes and heads to pick up our forces to attack the barbarian city.

1715 - Load up 2 macemen and the catapult.

1720 - Economics is completed and we start on Rifling. We can use free market now, so I decide to switch to that so we can get more gold rolling in. Dropped off the first wave of troops and head to pick up the knights.

1725 - Start bombarding the city. Knights are unloaded.

                                1730 - Continuing the bombardment.

1735 - Cyrus wants us to cancel our deals with the Greeks, I tell him to go away. I do realize that we have a lot of extra luxury resources and trade sugar to the Incans and dye to Egypt for 5g/turn each.

1740 - Hatty wants econ for free, but I don't much care for that. I do decide to trader her Liberism for Econ +280 golad. We discover rifling and start on the scientific method.

1745 - Prepping the settler, longbowman and a worker to head to a good city spot near our soon-to-be city.

1750 - Barb city reaches 4% defense and our knights and maceman destroy them easily and take the town for us.

1755 - We enter the Industrial Era with the discovery of Scientific Method. I start on physics hopeful that we will discover it first for the GP (no one else has it yet). I trade sugar to spain and dye to Cyrus for 5g/turn each and Spices to Greece for 7g/turn. We are now running 90% science with +17g per turn

Oil is spotted in the water near Kara and west of our new city on the ground. I undloaded our settler already, but the next leader will have to decide whether to stay put or go for the oil with that settler. I also start building riflemen as cities completed building, we need a stronger military!
