So we start by researching Misticism for those important early religions and the scout starts exploring the north west beyond the goody hut (It yielded us 42 gold)

By around 3640 BC we can see that the land to our west is very fertile and has some great resources! A patch of spices, A patch of dye and some silk. Off the coast are two fish sources. Only drawback is alot of jungle so we'll need iron working to clear those out.

Buddhism was founded in a distant land so I starting going for Hinduism

By 3440 a second scout was built and started exploring towards our south east (quickly came accross a source of stone near our capitol).

The first scout started swinging towards the east and came accross the Russians, led by Peter!

The second scout ran into some lions and won the fight but needed several turns to heal, putting further exploration by his party on hold.

        3280- We have Hinduism!

Switch research to Fishing so we can exploit those clams.

We build a third scout and now Karakorum works on Settlers.

            3200 B.C.

            Nothing much, exploring.

            3120:
One of our scouts was badly mauled by a lion, but survived. Expanding our knowledge of our world.

            3040:
Our scientists have discovered fishing (everyone needs a pastime) but I have now directed their efforts into military matters. Our growing empire will need ranged defenders, archers!

            3000:
Another lion attack, this time our scout (a different one) suffered only minor injuries and learned a thing or two about jungle defense. (20% jungle/forest bonus)

Hmm, found a bug, I think. Notice the targeted scout? His health is .4 and he does not have the rest until healed option. I remember when he was attacked, I hit the heal button, then next turn the heal button was there again, so I hit it again. After a few turns I went looking for him, he wasn't healed or healing, and no longer has the option.

(After further experience, I am not sure I found a bug. It seems if you click on a healing unit after end of turn you do not have the option to put him back on rest until the next turn starts. I may have just been impatient to have the unit heal.)

                2920 B.C.

Another lion attack (great for experience, if dangerous!), survived as he was in jungle and trained for that type of fighting.

Oh, and the heal option returned to our other injured scout. *shrugs*

                2880:
Found a goody hut with 52 gold, and we are expanding our borders!

                2800:
We have discovered archery and are now working towards agriculture.

Well, more exploration than anything this time, that and lion fighting.

But I think we know fairly well the extent of our habitable area. We have Peter to the extreme north and only water to the south, east and west. It seems to me we need to arrest Peter's southern expansion in order to preserve what is rightfully ours! (That is, whatever we can take! )

Here is our current position, zoomed way out.

Oh that is very interesting indeed! A good chance that we can actually block off Peter from all this awesome land near us

                      Great work John!

Wow great starting location! Ok, taking my turn now.

And yeah, let's go in order unless someone can't take their turn in the time frame we set.

I just had a thought. To the south of us, just off the southern tip of our land is, I believe, more land with only one space separation from our southern shore. If you zoom in you can see it in the mist.

I am not even sure this version of Civ will allow boat bridges, but if it does we might be able to do a little early exploration there.

We could do this IF we decide that this is something not too exploitish and agree it is a good idea. Of course, if one ruler in the succession decided to do it he certainly can, I just thought it might be something to talk about. Personally, I have no strong opinion either way.

                            Anyone else?

                            edit: Welcome aboard moonrunner!

Oh I didn't notice that... Personally I wouldn't consider that exploitive, in any of my SP games I love to find such situations and take advantage of it
