Apolyton Naming Conventions

While we are waiting could our domestic advisor/interior minister organise a discussion thread as to how we name our cities.

Atm our first city would be Istanbul. But could well be called London. How do we decide names?

We can be more creative than that



1) Either we have a poll about each city name..

2) Or, in one of my names I derive city names from how the surroundings are:
E.g. Rivo Copcor (near river, with copper and corn), Pigiro Mera (pig, iron near sea), Horca Juhil (Horse, cattle near jungle hill) etc. etc.

Oh wait that was destroyed in 79AD. Better think again.

I like this idea. It will keep people engaged in the game and it gets people thinking creatively.

Yeah, we should just rotate it alphabetically by member, though the capital should be agreed on by all.

For many years I always named my capitals in civ: "Robington"

Eh, usually we name cities after players, after the capital. So each player should post his city name request here once we figure out what to name the capital.

Mine will be Mos Eisely.

Actually our capital should be Dorylaion.

Actually Apolytown is quite a good name for our capital. It proclaims our Civ site HQ quite cleverly and clearly.

I thought about alternatives: 'Polyville', 'Pollyfilla','Tottaman Hotspur' but decided to go with Apolytown unless someone comes up with something really special.
