    • There is no point keeping the game paused..Bulgaria can not test anything even if He wanted, let's unpause it and put the next turn to 20 hours or something. it's still better than this..

      • Game unpaused, next turn lasts 24 hours.

Is that necessary? Bulgaria said she just wanted another 24 hours and then she would either have it fixed or arrange a sub. The 24 hours have passed so can't we just play? We have lost 3 days in whats meant to be just a lite bit of fun. We even did the original pause without Bulgaria asking for it. Maybe you all play perfectly but I've lost numerous turns over the last weeks with the 8 hr timer and not storing things up right, but thats life. Unless someone's in a war we should just play on, and if people lose connection for any reason, computers, holidays, aliens etc. they can fix a sub. Let's play.

          • Ah, I was going to ask for unpause to try to log in, but it is already running, so wish me luck

            • I don't agree with the Priest. It's ok that this game is not that important for bulgaria to ask for a pause, but other players might care about not loosing civs this early. Missing turns here and then is not the same as missing 10 or so until giving up the whole game eventually.

              • I hear what you are saying Egypt, but Bulgaria didn't ask for a pause, you did. And I didn't object to a pause, just us continuing to pause three or four days later, particularly when Bulgaria herself said we should start again (36 hours ago saying in 24 hours they would have it sorted or have a sub). If I'm being harsh, I'm sorry, definitely don't want to lose anyone, but I think the rest of us ought to have some idea of what is going on, what changed so Bulgs set up which was working has stopped, what we can do to help, what is being tried etc. And I don't think a sub is such a poor option!

                • This was not what I expected. I thought Bulgaria would say when He had time to to try to fix his game, then Robert would had unpaused the game. I've also suggested that some other player should try to log in with Bulgaria, because the problem might be with the mod. And yes, if there is no other way we should get a sub, but we should not let the game going until we find one. We might had lost 36 hours but Bulgaria's civ would had lost around 15 consecutive turns already if we hadn't stopped.
I too want the game to be fast and going back to 8 hours as soon as possible.

                    • Putting the whole game on hold for someone becomes all the more frustrating when they check in infrequently.

                      • Yippie, we're moving again !

Just checking; I played my turn, noticed an unescorted settler so I declared war and picked it up. A few hours later I was wondering if i was allowed to do this; the only rules I've read was no elimination until after 1000AD.
Was this war declaration allowed or not ?

                        • eek, poor Portugal/France. I was wondering about these rules myself. I wasn't in the previous Diplo-light game, so someone should clarify rules on these things.

                          • We don't really have any rule except the no elimination one, which could happen quite easily: most people starts with worker and sends their scout/warrior to scout, leaving their city undefended. And even if we have rule against elimination a warrior choke could also be very harmful. I would prefer to have a rule about no war in the first 100 turns or so. I might destroy a city if it's been built too close to me on a land claimed by me, but otherwise I wouldn't start war this early just to weaken my rivals.

                            • Bulgaria has managed to finish her turn
Would be nice to hear from Greece though, They are missing many turns.

                              • Great about Bulgaria.

Regarding killing off early settlers..... well, these games have no rules but are played within the diplo code of honour. I would personally never do that myself.
