Russia has been declared ready to switch and it looks like its being played - good.

    Austria still waiting

Meanwhile Rome hasn't declared ready to be switched and is still being logged in and played. But old player or new?

Pause the game until we get everyone declared ready to go, and RP accept all email change confirmations.

I'll send out another PM, maybe people aren't paying attention? I dunno.

Having this anonymous makes everything more difficult too, I'm not entirely sure who is even still playing in the game, heh.

It's the best if you guys organise as much as possible yourself.
An outsider will never be able to do it as good as someone on board.

I'll then send out the PM's everytime that reveal to everybody what his new civ is going to be next month.
For next switch it's best to pause the game till everybody has reported, I'd suggest.

The trouble is with the emails. Even with the new email setup, if Robert doesn't go in and confirm your new password, then you cannot post. As it currently stands, for example, I cannot post in either the old player account or the new player account. The fact that Robert is expected, as a result, to spend a considerable amount of time at the end/beginning of a month working to facilitate the changes in our game is not, I think, what he signed up for!

I'm not sure how to fix it. I just know that it is likely that more people could be going ahead with their next turn than think they are able, because the switch has been made, or is ready to be made, but no post to that effect has been put up for the country in question. I can't tell you if it's true about either the country I'm going to be or the country I was, without potentially revealing who I was/am.

I'm lost right now. I know who i should be playing as but not sure if i should just log in or not. I'm not even sure if I should even log into my old NH account or the one I'm supposed to use now for my new civ. Personally I say the hell with anon and lets just have the civ changes out in the open.

Rome (NH) has waiting for email problem to be fixed and been playing turns until changeover is successfully complete.

Password is changed but email of Rome@diplo.plomp.eu does not work.

Original player still playing the turns for now.

New Rome is here and I have played the turn. Login works just fine.

I have confirmed the passwords for:
                  Russia
                  Ottomans
                  England
                  Austria

The other civs did not yet change their e-mail address.

People need to realize that you don't always need to confirm the password change. So if you change the password and can successfully log in with it, then that's all there is to it. Change the e-mail and you're done. You don't need to get the e-mail to work or anything.

After an e-mail change, a confirmation is needed.
But just post that you're ready here, and I'll confirm it manually.

Russia has been successfully taken over.

Might point out that, if you use essentially the same in game name you used for your prior civ, not much anonymity about the switch.

Guys - this isn't working. We need to pause and reload back to the point when we were meant to change. Look at stats - some nations have now had about 5 turns when the rest are all waiting.

The problem is the email and password change stuff. There is no need for it, and it isn't as easy as being suggested here, since until a change is confirmed you can't post on here, so you can't say that your nation is ready to play, and you can't confirm because you have changed the email to an address you don't own (for anonymity purposes).

For the future (and we are all learning about this swap business) we need:

                            - not to use the email notification for these accounts, and so leave the email as the anonymous ones RP has now suggested.
                            - not to password protect our nations (we were told not to, but some have done) - nobody can log in as you anyway because they would show up in teh stats and you can cry foul.
                            - i would say not password protect the nation's apolyton account for easy (i.e. leave as horizon), but because someone could log in and you wouldn't know, people might want to change it. Fine, we just have a rule that by the last day of the month the password needs to be back as horizon and we are done.

I'm not sure why you think 5 turns have gone by. We are still on the second "new" turn. Thus, there are only at most two turns that have gone by "unused".

I agree that the timer should be paused on this turn while we get everything "right", but frankly, it appears that it IS right, or as right as it can be, and thus the only issue is people who haven't checked in yet to see what the deal is. If we wait until everyone gets around to checking in to see what's up, we may be paused for days.

The game has been paused / stopped.
If all players just leave the diplo.plomp.eu address in place, it should go a lot easier next month.
