Ah crap, really? Damn, I'm sorry, I must have messed that up somehow. I'm not sure how to fix that now, at this point.
Could everyone agree to give Russia like 25 gold to compensate them for missing that tech?Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012

We had a total blackout overhere.
I have just restarted the server.
I used the autosave generated by the login of the Ottomans.
This means that only the Ottoman turn has been lost.

Hey everyone.
I came here to find the ModCast link.
So, of course, while I was here I had to check out what the Diplogamers were up to. I don't really know the specifics of what is going on, but just a few comments that I hope will be heeded...
1) Ozzy is completely correct, there is no way you can have a map that encompasses Europe and doesn't create a conflict with certain capitals. The Paris/London/Amsterdam region is always going to suck in this regard.
2) It is pretty awesome that you guys decided to start switching civs, I don't think this is something that should occur all the time in Diplogames, but it is a cool concept. I don't know how many times you have played this style, but I played a "pick-up" game with DanQ and MMC where we switched civs every X amount of turns one time, and we had a great time playing like that. So kudos for doing it.
3) I know I have said this before, and this is probably my longest hiatus, but I will be back. If you'll take me that is...
EDIT: Going back to point 1, if you think about it, in civ-terms this will naturally emulate the (simplistic) east v. west European history. In a European Diplogame it would be unrealistic (ironically because realistically this was the case) to start out with Western Europe more "advanced" than Eastern (specifically Northeastern, i.e. Russia and the Germanic-Baltic area) Europe, however if capitals have to conflict with one another (i.e. Paris v. London) they would naturally have to create higher culture to get as many tiles as possible, which would in turn probably result in a more culturally and scientific Western Europe, while the vast lands of the Eastern areas are better policed by larger land armies. So in a sense civ works on a more "Geopolitical" sense. Sorry, I'm drunk.Last edited by The Capo; May 24, 2010, 23:03."Our cause is in the hands of fate. We can not guarantee success. Plus, if you don't like the spot you started, wait a month and you'll get something new!
I'm excited to do the first switch!
