Ozzy must have messed that up some how when he made the map. We should definitely chip in to help out Russia. 25 seems high though. The lost tech was 90 beakers, so if we divide that by the 7 of us that'd be like 13 gold each.

Hmm... I tried to send the money to Russia, but I couldn't see an option to send it. I have more than enough gold, does anyone know what is wrong?

You need currency to be able to trade / give gold.

As long as Russia gets the gold eventually that's all i really care about. And i apologize for not being more active in the story thread I'm just finding it very difficult to make stories and keep interest in a civ I'll only have for a month.

Given we are all going to be Russia at some point, not sure it really matters whether it gets this gold or not. We all know the Russians are barbarian hordes anyway - this lack of technology just proves it. Happy either way though.

            Country Swapping

Given that many of us store up a few moves at a time, and don't log in every 12 hours, can I suggest we make the first turn of the new nations at least 36 hours, so ensure that everyone does manage to log in at the beginning of their new nation.

May I suggest to divide the 90 hunting beakers by 8, so that Russia gets 7/8th of that tech, and all civs (including Russia!) pay 1/8th of it. otherwise Russia get's a benefit

I don't really care about getting any gold, Russia is used to being at slight disadvantages from others. Its just a shame I will not have the chance to turn my barbarian hordes on all the lesser nations around me.

Any who I was curious, how are we changing civs and once we do change civs does that mean we trade our Appoly (NH) accounts too?

Yea, our anon poly accounts all need to be swapped too. What is neat is that if we do all our diplomacy through PM on our poly accounts we'll be able to leave a record of what has been done to our next in line. And while knowing that each decendent is free to do what he wants with the civ it wouldn't hurt to send yourself some notes at the end of each month for the next guy.

CS should be handling the mechanics of switching everyone. I hope it goes smoothly, we're making diplogame history!

Everybody has received a message like this the following:
                    Good luck!

The next turn; 2250 BC; you will switch to your new civ.
This turn will start about 6 hours after this PM has been sent to you. It will last about 36 hours.

                    You must do this:

                    1. Make sure that your own civ is not password protected in the game. If it is, please let me know.

                    2. Make sure that you Apolyton account (the one you receive this PM on) gets the generic password: "Horizon"

                    3. Delete this message from your inbox. (the new civ is not supposed to know what civ you transfered to)

                    4. Post a message in the org thread that your civ is ready to be switched.

                    5. Log in as your in civ as soon as that civ has posted a simular msg as you did as step 4.

                    6. Change your Apolyton password.

                    7. Your new civ is: [new civname]

                    Good luck!

                    Robert

Ps. if you have any questions, please ask!

                        Everybody:
                        There's a problem when changing your password/e-mail.
Many of you want to change the mail address before handing over the account.

                        Please use the following method:

                        1. change password
                        2. confirm password change
                        3. change e-mail address into robert $ diplo.plomp.eu

                        That should work!

Hmm, I changed the password, and the new password seems to work fine, but I never received an e-mail confirmation. Should I wait longer or should I change the e-mail now?

I've sent you all a new PM regarding the e-mail address problems.

@Austria: Not sure about the email confirmation. If it works, it works, I guess.

I get the impression this switch is not quite working. The swapping of passwords and email addresses all gets messy if you don't get it right, and you then can't reverse it. We only have two nations declared ready and time is moving on.
