Desertbrain. We do not decide on suicide. We have offered and continue to offer peace, and tribute.

But we do not sell our own people, our own land, to anyone.

It is not suicide to declare that when we are invaded we will fight until we released our captured lands from your jackboot. We will not surrender our own people to your slavery. That is not fanaticism - that is courage. But of course as a bully you don't understand courage. You would sell your own grandmother to save your skin. We would not. That makes us men and you a worm.

I'm afraid Egypt won't help you leave this world so easily..
What a coy way of admitting you can't win this war. Oh dear. You have only tried for about eight years. We have hardly started. What did you think - that we would roll over and sell our own people at the first payload of your bombs?

Oh dear, your lust for power and wealth, your anger at me refusing to attack Rome, has destroyed one of the few friendships you had, and leaves you with an unstable northern frontier.

That is true, but only because we took (temporary) four of your cities (so less population) and cut off the way off your galleons heading to the new world. So the world is safe for the next vote.. but we don't want temporary solution, we don't want an other war some times later.
The viking land and pepole are not yours and it's in the interest of the world that they won't remain under hinduistan control.
And one time you say that hinduistan will be destroyed and welcome to become martyrs other time saying you are just fight bravely and egypt can't win the war anyway.. you should make up your mind..

I just tell my perspektive: egypt doesn't have the strenght to exterminate you.. nor the will to do it. We have never said we would, but we will continue the war untill we can be sure that the Hinduistan threat is no more.

And of course we did not want to attack Rome.. we had enough wars already..

      • Oh please. When your lies have been found out, have the decency to stop digging.

Four population from two cities (only two of which, both islands protected by destroyers, you still hold) makes all the difference does it? You are not the protector of the world. There was never a danger of a hindu victory. Your own massive expansion of Hindusim saw to that. That peaceful action on your part dismissed any possibility of Hindu victory. The war was nothing to do with that - you simply wanted power, money and hated me because I would not support your attack on Rome.

Egypt can win the war if it remains just against Hindustan. Of course it can. We have always said so. Your southern army is poised to seize a major city and destroy much of the remaining regular Hindu troops. Your transports have new marines on board and are at sea once again. What we have always said though is:

        1. We will not surrender our own people. We will fight on as long as one of our people is under your slavery. We will accept peace and give tribute but not sell our people.
        2. As the war goes on, your own power is weakened greatly. You would still win against Hindustan, but as you weaken others will take the opportunity of destroying you.

Hindustan is no threat. But continue the war as you wish, its your enemies who benefit.

        The Great Conclave.

        • Desertlord and Priest of Hindustan,

Rome is willing to bring a solution for your conflict.
Egypt wants to eliminate the religious dominance of Hindustan on Earth.
Hindustan wants not to give too much power and territory to Egypt.

That's why Rome provides the only workable solution.
If all Viking Cities will be transfered to Roman supervision, both the Hindustani and the Egyptian issues will be met. The Romans were the only true allies of the Vikings, as everybody on earth knows, so it'll be in the Viking's best interest if the Romans will supervise their cities.

I am happy to provide you with this workable solution, at no costs.
Both of you are invited in Rome to sign this peacedeal and enjoy a session in a bathhouse afterwards!

          Augustus

          • The agents of the Messianic Warrior sent back accounts of the Eygptian cities. The Warrior smiled and sent them on to the vultures.

My lords. We know you have good intelligence on the pitiful state of Egyptian forces. But just in case you have missed something. Current defenders of major Egyptian cities, including border cities with Rome:

            Uppsala - One canon division.
            Heliopolis - One catapult regiment.
Elphantine - None (despite it being a major air base).
Memphis (the double holy city) - Three machine gun batteries.
Thebes (the capital) - One catapult regiment.

The tree is rotten, the fruit are ready to pick.

            • Dear Augustus,

It is a wise solution indeed. One misinformation though: we too were good friends and allies of the vikings. Anyway Egypt is not expansionist and to prove it we are willing to go along with your plan: The five viking cities took by Babylon in the last war should go under Roman control. The requested units still go to Egypt as reparation cost.

              • Report from the Messianic Warrior to the Great Conclave

My lords. The Egyptian small armies in the North are in full retreat. It appears that they have suddenly realised how exposed the Roman border was and have pulled back their troops. Or perhaps they intercepted our letter to other nations detailed their weakness.

There continue to be massive Hindu losses in the south. We are just holding the line, but being bled to death, but they continue to lose men too.

At sea the Egyptians continue to seize strategic islands in preparation for their forthcoming war with Russia. There is little we can do to stop them.

                  • Announcement from Egypt:

Sadly there is no comunication between us and the demented Babylonian leadership. They consider our peace offers as a sign of weakness. Babylon who at the time had 34 cities (Egypt 19) refused to hand over 3 former viking cities (before the war we asked for one..and only to reduce their votes in the next round). They also ignored to give up those viking cities they conquered in the last twenty or so turns and hand them over to Rome.
Now they are about to draft their citizens and continue to ruin their future just to take revenge on us... They are quite right that this war has cost us a lot and continue to to be costly.., but despite this, just to show good faith Egypt announces that for the next two turns we adopt a one sided cease fire, we won't attack, nor advance troops, even if we know that this time will be used by Babylon to build and draft more troops. During this time we will wait for the Babylonians peace offer..ofc if they still don't want to give up cities then they don't need bother.. the term that they will not use the apostolic palace against Egypt (including and especially the giving back cities option) also should be in.

                    Desertlord

                    • Gondor's position

                      Gondorian Democracy Parliament:

Although Gondor understood Egypt's original intention to thwart the Hindustani's ability to achieve a Diplomatic Victory using the Apostolic Palace, we now believe that Egypt has gone way too far despite their offers of peace. Gondor will not quibble about these generous offers but also understands the pride and bravery of the Hindustanis.

Regardless of Hindustanis response, the latest Egyptian offer is a step in the right direction.

Further, and despite any or no Hindustani dialog with Egypt, Gondor urges Egypt to return a fair quota of cities to Hindustan (consistent with eliminating a DV) and continue to stop responding to Hindustani attacks.

If this offer is made and accepted by the Hindustani it expected that any retalitaory actions by them will immediately cease.

The aim of the Egyptian war, as far as Gondorians understand it and based on diplomatic missives from Egypt in recent decades, has been achieved.

How each side handles this scenario will dicatate Gondor's Foreign Policy position here on in.

                      Strider of Gondor.

                        • The Great Conclave to Strider of Gondor

                          My Lord and Friend,

We thank the Gondorian Parliament for their continuing concern and the recent bolstering of their forces within Hindustan.

The parliamentary declaration leaves us with some diffiuclties here, which we will explain.

                          1. The declaration is still based on the Egypt lie that there was ever a danger of a Hindu DV before the war started. There was not. They themselves have admitted that there was never any such danger (archive messages 840 and 842). We recognise that many nations of the world, even such as your own, were deceived in this way. Of course we lament this, for it was only this Egyptian deception which gave any cover for their attack on us. So when you say they should return all cities consistent with eliminating a DV that would mean all of them because there never was a danger of a DV (and certainly not now with the population of those cities massacred and the cities looted).

                          2. The Egyptian self-proclaimed gerosity in ceasing firing is a joke. The very same hour they seized two further cities. At this point they are exhausted. Their marines have all been used and the transports need to travel back to Egypt to gather new troops. Their northern land forces are rushing back to defend their Roman frontier. Their southern land forces seized a city and are now digging in. This 'pause' is simply the next sensible military strategy for them. Do not be deceived again, my friend.

                          3. Egypt has seized seven Hindu cities. Every single one of these was founded by Hindustan many, many centuries ago, millenia in some cases.

We thank you thank you recognise our bravery and pride. Alongside this we need to add our truthfulness. In contrast to continual Egyptian lies, everything we have ever said in regard to this war is true, as is gradually emerging. This gives us a dilemma. Other nations might accept a treaty with Egypt but always intend to break it. We will not lie in this way.

The Great Conclave will not accept the Egyptian domination of any Hindu cities. The seven that Egypt holds are native Hindu cities and we will retake them or die in the process. If that seems arrogant or stupid to you, we are sorry, we mean no insult to you our friends. But we will not abandon our kin folk and we will not lie pretending to you our friends that we will, when we won't.

Although it pains us to say so, we do recognise the legitimate concerns of a nation such as your concerning a Hindu DV. We would not expect you to support a peace treaty which allowed an Hindu DV, or support a Hindustan which was working towards that. However, since all seven of those cities could be returned without ANY DANGER WHATSOEVER of a Hindu DV, we do not believe that any other nation has anything to fear from our commitment to regain those cities.

We fear that the Gondorian parliament may find this response insulting. We do not intend that. But we will not abandon our kins folk to Egyptian domination, and given that even when those seven cities return to Hindustan there is no danger of a DV, we cannot see why any other nation would want or expect us to agree to our kins folk being left in Egyptian slavery.

We recognise that if the rest of the world ignores Egyptian aggression in Hindustan (perhaps still believing Egyptian lies about DV) it wil be a century perhaps before we retake these cities, or seize sufficient of Egypt itself to perform an exchange. That does not worry us. We cannot rest until our people are free, and we will not lie to pretend that we will, even if it is convenient. We leave lies for convenience to the Egyptians.

                          The Great Conclave
