  • By now Lone Horn, on his voyage of discovery, was feeling lonely and thinking of home, yet he marvelled at the lands he had visited and the welcome he had received from the new tribes he encountered. Most recently he had been welcomed by a great chief, Saladin and they had both shared a peace pipe.

Lone Horn had to be careful now with the use of peace pipes and tobacco, because the white tribe, with the red cross, had traded a lot of provisions for supplies of the Virginia dried tobacco leaf, so there was a lot less tobacco, left.

After the feast, of 50 slaughtered lambs, in his honor, Lone Horn puffed on the strange ‘hookah’ pipe, favoured by his new friends and at the end of the meal, first tasted the stoned sweet fruits

’2 days past winter moon. 6 days past summer sun, 7 days past start of spring’, chanted Lone Horn. ‘ What do you mean? ‘ said his new friends.

’Dates’, said Lone Horn with a laugh.

A few days later, Lone Horn boarded his craft and set sail and waved goodbye to his friends in the Ottoman tribe.

    • Back home, Spotted Wolf and Blue Corn Maiden, had long given up scanning the skies for news of Lone Horn. Instead traders from the new lands that Lone Horn had visited started to turn up at coastal villages with goods to exchange and of course with news of Lone Horns voyage.

By now ‘Touch the Clouds’, who was getting old, had ceded power to Chief Massasoit, who was attempting to unite the various native American tribes to face the future.

‘You’re like one of those king things’ shouted ‘Howling Wolf’.

Massasoit ruled that to keep villages safe, secure and happy, each village must retain a defence force to make the tribe population feel reassured.

Despite some unrest, this was achieved.

‘If my son,Melacomet, comes here’ he said ‘show him respect.

No exchange was offered - not even Gold - just a demand! Who do these men from over the sea think themselves to be?

In Friendship City my mighty Lord Mayta Capac met many great and grand leaders of civilised nations but did express sadness and disappointment at the pitiful nature of the Korzan delegation. Then comes this letter demanding that the arts of fiscal manipulation should be given as though in tribute! All Quechua people are disgusted by this shallow threat and warn Korzan that should this ever be repeated they might expect more than a mere rebuff.

Mani Acila, Speaker, Tawantin Suyu High Council

        Yoiu are a fool...

We told you what we wanted from you and awaited you telling us how much it costs. we made no demands of tribute as you allude to.

Well this is the final straw. We will not deal with you ever again ,you make accusations agaisnt our people and expect us to do nothing.

We are afrais of nothing not even death.

We shall close all borders to you and your people.

        • Activity in Constantinople

They had got it so badly wrong.

Theodosius' court officials had thought that his time in Friendship City would have given them some peace and quiet. Many had dispersed to their estates along the Marmara or even up in the hills of Antioch to enjoy some relaxation. But their break was short-lived. Courier after courier came back across the Eyptian hills, some now taking the newly opened sea route to Friendship City, down the Marmara and then along the ice sea. Soon they were all engulfed in a flurry of preparation.

First, the news that Aeneas the Great and Noble Rex of the Romans was travelling here to Constantinople on his return from Freindship City. This was a cause of great joy and excitement. The old generals arguing over lunch each day as to whether he would be accompanied by famed prartorians, and whether they were really as good as people said. From the diplomats and officials one word kept being whispered - Romanoi. Nobody knew quite what this meant but it seemed to be at the heart of the anxious energy which had overtaken the palace.

Second, engineers carrying imperial warrants had given huge orders to the weavers and manufactureres of Constantinople (and of Thessanonica), and were commandeering ships for the journey up to Thessalonica and then endless carts. It could have looked like preparation for some conflict, and yet all that was being transported was tents, kitchens and the pagent of the fair. The people of Thessalonica saw the work on the border, but still were unsure what was happening at the site which was soon becoming known as 'The Field of Gold'.

Third, there was endless correspondance being copied in to the Imperial Archives. Not just from the Romans and English, but from the Inca and Greeks (indeed the officials noted how worried the messangers to the Greeks looked), from the Egyptians, and even from distant lands few had ever seen - the Arabs, the Russians, the Koreans and the mighty Persians. Never had the Byzantine people felt that the traditional designation of Constantinople as the Center of the World seemed more true.

All that they could be sure of is that soon all would soon become clear, and that the omens were all for good and the peace of the world.

          • Aeneas leaves Friendship city for Constantinople. He leaves behind ambassador Gaius Marcus with instructions to keep the embassy door open for all who seek further conversation.

The last item of business that was concluded was with the Greeks, who had settled too close to Roman lands and agreed to compensate the Roman loss of land with a Settler. We thank Voula for her willingness to discuss and compensate our loss.

            • A lonely fishing boat made it's way across the Great River and to the coast of Walata. An older man stepped from the boat with a basket of golden grains. Tye people of Walata had never seen this before and were intrigued. The old man explained that he was from across the Great River and lived in the Incan city of Ollantaytambo. He had met with other fishermen from Mali near the clam beds and decided to bring a treat to the tiny village of Walanta. The fisherman was welcomed into the homes of the fisherman who showed them how to make bread from the grains. The citizens were very happy to learn of this new food because fish and rice were very boring. As a gesture of gratitude, the Mali fishermen gave their new friend a basket of rice to take home and share with the people of Ollantaytambo.

              • With the original ruler of the Ottoman Empire passing away from old age, his eldest son, Bayezid had taken the reins and already made progress on his early term goals.

He was especially happe to have seen his friends the Arabs, Persians, and Brittanians, settle their dispute diplomatically instead of coming to blows.

But not everyone was happy in the Empire. Murad, the middle son of Mehmed, and younger brother of Bayezid was not dissapointed in the choice of his sibling's appointment to ruler. Murad feared that Bayezid was too peaceful and that the Ottomans had a large military for one reason, to use it!

However he felt, he was a patient man, and even if he didn't see eye to eye with Bayezid, he would respect his wished, as the one thing he valued above all else was the Ottoman Empire. If Bayezid could get the job done, good.

Without any chance to flex his desires for conquest on the battlefield, he decided to pursue conquest of another kind....

Word had reached Ottoman lands that the great ruler of Russia, Catherine, had a daughter, Dominika, who although not the best looking, had certain talents that most men would appreciate.

Murad left the Ottoman capital with a small band of bodyguards, if war was not on the agenda today, certainly a woman could tide him over...

                • Climbing the forested hills east of Edirne, the difficult paths over these rugged hills were the dividing line between the Ottoman and Russian lands. Prince Murad's small delegation encountered Russian patrols and were allowed to pass unhindered, it seemed the Russians had become quite lax in their control of the western border.

Having crossed the borderhills, Murad arrived at the Pastures of Novgorod. Here fine chariot horses were bred and Murad's guard were offered some chariots to travel easier through the lands. Novgorod was a large city by Russian standards, as big as Moscow itself and was home to horse breeders, copper miners, corn farmers, crab fishers and philosophers. Meeting with Prince Ioseb, Murad was welcomed and told about Russian lands and how to make his way to Moscow.

-Just follow the brick road, it runs southeast, then northeast. If you not take northeast path at crossroads, you end up in faraway Rostov, where the jewish goldminers, jewellers and brickmakers live. It is said that at night, on the far beaches of the city, you can see the lights across the Al-Jazeera, of the Arab city of Baghdad.

Turn north, either there or earlier and you will come to Volgorad, the city on the rivermouth, western twin of Moscow. Not as splenderous, but beautiful and friendly, despite being on the border of Persia. Travel east from there you will enter the throbbing heart of Russia, the Volga river valley, most beautiful in all our lands. To the north the monumental Ural mountains can be seen, to the far south the foothills and Twin Peaks of Markotkh.

Near the eastern rivermouth, stretching from the Volga's southern bank as far south as the Copper deserts and as far east as the Al-Jazeera, you will find the sprawling people of Moscow, home of the Princess of Russia, Protector of the Colonists, Bride of Hastog, the Demi-Divine High Priestess Catherine. Speed and Wisdom carry you, prince of Uthman.

Is your recent action an insult to your brothers of the faith?

Do you plan to take more action like the following?

                        Is this a hostile act?

Fahraz, it's true your nation is mighty, this we can all agree on, but, does Persia have friends nearby?

How many nations can Persia fight at once? 1? 2? 3? 4?

                        • Alexander returned from the north where his forces where clearing out the barbarian
threat. He entered the throne room but William was not there. He walked to William's
bedchambers but again it was empty. He searched the palace yet could not find his
brother. So traveled down into the catacombs under the palace He walked down the
already lit passageway until he came to the giant door which was now completely
unsealed. On the other side of the doorway was William standing on the exact stop
                          where their father killed Cheney.

"What are you doing here Will," said Alexander as he looked around the cave. William did
not answer he only stared at the ground lost in a trance. Alexander put his hand on
William's shoulder and said, "Will come on let's go." William snapped out of the trance and
started to talk. "Alex do you know where we are? This is where father killed that
motherless basterd Cheney. You where in Las Noches at the time but I was here in this
very room when father killed Cheney and his advisors. You should have been here to see
it. Father was like a god killing at will without mercy or restraint." Alexander looked
asked, "Why are you bringing this up? What's wrong Will?"

William walked away over the bridge that was built over the pit and outside, Alexander
followed. "Alex," said William, "Look out into this beautiful landscape. Since the rule of
Alexander I Britannia has been a nation of peace and understanding, but where has that
gotten us? While others have built armies we have only trained enough to get by. It is
because others think of us as weak that they threaten our home. It is because we have
no power that we are pitied by others." Alexander turned sighed, "Everything you say is
true but what can we do about it? It is in our nature to wish for peace but this world has
no real place for people like us I suppose." William turned to Alexander, "I want you to go
to the other cities gather as many who wish to start new lives elsewhere as you can and
have them ready to move to the north as soon as possible. Once they are settled we will
begin our new task. We must protect our lands from any who wish to do us harm. We will
prepare for war to insure our peaceful ways."

                          • William was in the Jewish temple preying when one of the rabbi came to him. "My lord
may I have a moment with you," asked the rabbi. William turned to the rabbi and said,
"Of course good rabbi what is it that you need?" The rabbi handed William two
documents, one that was taken from the records in Pendragon palace and another taken
from the records in the Jewish temple. Both documents were lists of the leaders of every
nation Britannia came in contact with both identical with one exception. The records from the Jewish temple stated that the current leader of Persia was a man named FarAz
but the documents from the palace stated that AhmAz was the leader.

"Hmm why this is strange," said William, "Your records must be wrong. I have never heard
of a FarAz being head of Persia. For as long as I remember AhmAz was the leader of
Persia." The rabbi then said, "Yes, yes to my memory AhmAz has been leader since
Hastog died but I asked the Christian and Muslim temples and they confirm what our
records show." William looked at the documents again, "and what of the Heavy
Hastogists temple?" The rabbi said, "There records show the same as the palace." William
smiled, "I'm sure its nothing rabbi." The rabbi nodded and William walked out of the
temple. "I'll figure this out if it is the last thing I do," mumbled the rabbi as he made his
way back to the basement where the records were kept.
