Any idea if Deity is going to be back and play Khmer anytime soon?

I appreciate Ozzy subbing for Khmer, still I am not too happy having the same player control two civs with a negative attitude against Portugal. Too much disadvantage to Portugal in this case. I would appreciate it if we can level the play field.

I can ask a friend of mine to sub for khmer. a total outsider.

I don't know if it is a good move to insert a person without any history into that role as a caretaker though. It might not be good for consistency in Khmer's direction, since I would not want to ask him to show no initiative.

Is he talented at the game? Being at war with the biggest/baddest civ in the game is not a good place to throw a newbie into.

Ok, still not a word on Rome, I'm going to pause the game.

edit: Hmmm, Rome did play his turn yesterday (though he didn't "end" his turn).
He's most probably very busy and can therefore not post here. I suggest we keep the game going.
If he's able to login to the game then he's also able to drop us a note if things are not going very well. (perhaps he has a sub we're not aware of and this sub doesn't know how to end turns / post posts)

Sorry guys but i need to protest, these last turns i have seen Ozzy gifting Khmer a ton of Infantry and gold so he can upgrade using Khmer's technology. Now the metalheads have turned all of these infantry to mechanized infantry (a technology which they do not have). Also i see another huge khmerian stack or maybe it is a metalheads one on the metalhead and khmerian border - which with no doubt be upgraded again using both civs cash. Still not sure who will end using up this second army.

This to me is a big abuse of subbing powers and again i SAY a huge disadvantage to Portugal... and slowly turning in a very lame bad form situation.

Robert maybe it will be wise to pause the game, this is getting out of hand.

The game has been paused till Rome has returned and Khmer has a sub.
I'm nog going to judge if there's any form of an abuse, I do trust Ozzy as a fair player, but to take away all possible temptations and all possible false accusations we'd better look for a good sub.
There are plenty mp players around here, I'm sure it'll be possible to find one. Ozzy, if Jeroen's friend is not a good pick, please contact some from the apolyton mp or pitboss community. it's only for 3 weeks.

I don't believe we can wait for Rome if we do not know how long he's going to be away. He obviously does have a Sub in any event - just not a very communicative one!

Do you know that Deity will be back in 3 weeks? His parting PM gave no hint of a return date so have you had an update?

Hi Guys,

Many apologies for not being around the last days - thanks for the concerns.

I got caught up in work stuff which took me away. I thought I would have a network conntection there, but in the end I didn't. Couldn't get on here, and my attempts to log into the game failed (those supposed log-ins visible in civstats weren't actual log ins - as soon as I tried to play it disconnected, except for once of Thursday when I managed half a turn - its a long time since I have played a turn and failed to end turn ). Fortunately all happened when I was at peace, so no great harm done, though there are lots of empty build queues. Apologies to folks who are waiting for diplomatic correspondance from me etc. - I'll try to get back on top of it the next 24 hours.

Good to be back and find Rome is still in existance! I will story this gap since it fits conveniently with the swap from Marcus to Cleopatra.

Obviously I see we are now paused becuase of other issues - just when I am back and wanting to see what has been happening, but I understand the point. I hope we can get back on soon.
