  • Noble Friends,

Russia mourns with all the passing of Augustus. I stand ready to depart for the last ashes upon the end of my coronation next round.

I am deep concerned that having set out so long ago we still have seen no sight of my dear friend Orestes. The news from the south is also disturbing for it appears yet another exchange of harsh words has occured and for poor little Korea to be shunned thus is tragic. Truly you are entirely right my friend, Greece has been over-generous, but I cannot but pity the peasants in the fields of rice knowing that centuries of civil conflict has brought them to this state.

My Portugese friends and neighbours, I am sorry to have had to temporarily suspend our Open Border agreement but I do not wish to see your Clerics wandering over Russian lands and into Russian cities. I have offerred to re-open them immediately but if this should occur again then they shall be closed permanently.

Likewise Khmer, leave my lands post-haste or I will have to end the free movement of goods and services twixt our nations to the benefit of neither of us.

At last words from the Metalheads! A very strange folk but friendly and great in the arts of the kitchen. A fine dish indeed is the Lamb Phall but it did cause me to visit my court physic the day after to explain the effects however perchance I shall recover in time for the coronation.

    Blessings to you all,
    Prince Andrei Bogolubski

Prince Andrei Bogolubski this is most alarming Portugal lets your workers pass through its lands and you return the favor by closing your borders in order to not let our clerics come in? Sir a more civilized way would have been if you just have requested us officially to stop doing this - but you decided on a much harsher move closing borders - and now threaten us with further sanctions SO BE IT you can hold on to your closed borders! I am saddened to see our friendship being destroyed so easily and quickly by just one man.

Prince Andrei Bogolubski of Mother Russia.

I apologise for the delay in replying to you about the dispute resolution.

I am in need of help with this issue as I can not communicate with Xristo - he is either lovingly helpful and pleasant or simply, aweful.

It is VERY clear that he dropped a Spy, or most likely, a Great Spy into Khmer land by technically adhering to international rules and then protesting most strongly that he did not, threatening war and all kinds of nasty things.

I think it is because we are Eastern brain thinkers and he, like you, is a Western brain thinker. This effects cultural understanding. Maybe you can help.

        Maybe they were being honest.

But I don't think so. Their Carrack was sailing to an easy access point, ie one sea square of Khme cultural borders to reach the Khmer shore without us knowing (done in one period). But then he agreed to totally stay in international waters BUT sails to another even easier access point whee Khmer culture ends at the shore. His ship stopped at that point. Then sailed home. What was the point of that?

BUT the very next period Khmer receives this reliable message event "Enemy spies appear to be extra vigilant to our espionage efforts in the near future" I leave it for you to work out the rest.

Anyway, time now moves on and que sera sera.

And we will gift you that annoying scout that is in your lands immediately!!

On another issue, the AET. Khmer is gradually closing borders and deals with nations who are signatories to the AET. I need to catch up on the latest international news first but, yes, it would be a shame if we ended our current trade deals.

        • Members of the Anti Emancipation Treaty,

Now the Khmer have threatened Russia, if they will not leave the AET.
The Khmer try to destroy our pact by approaching us one by one.
Please stand firm against their treats! In the end we stand strong together and the Khmer will only hurt themselves.

Since the Khmer try to destroy our pact in such an pathetic way, not by addressing their concerns to all of us, but threatening us one by one, I suggest that we lay sanctions on the khmer as well.

Instead of the Khmer ending trade deals with us one by one, we just end all our deals with the Khmer at once. This to let our pact prevail and end the Khmerish mishandling of individual member states.

Please all vote for or against (or abstain) a total embargo against the Khmer.

Portugal votes for Maya to join in the AET club. Aslo dear Secretary General of the AET. I have been approached by the Maya to open borders. I have declined not knowing if that would be right for the moment. Can Portugal open borders with the Maya people or wait till they join. For the record Maya and Sparta, I am happy to open borders but need to be sure I follow the AET articles first.

About Khmer, Sparta you have a very interesting proposition. Khmer continue on insulting us that we have landed a spy on their homeland, which is total propaganda on their part. I vote yes on your suggestion against Khmer. Why should we have them blackmail AET members, lets just counter their actions. Khmer for ages have had an embargo over Portuguese trade. Never they have for once wanted to open their borders with us. I will keep my intel high on them, there is no other way. Time and again they have proven they wish the western nations and specifically AET members only ills.

            • Xristo,

The AET has currently not putted a closed-border sanction on the Maya. This is only a matter of time though.
Unless the AET members vote in favour of the AET-Mayan deal. With 3 votes in favour and 0 votes against this deal it is very likely that the deal will be accepted.

I hope this answers your question.

I am flattered that so many nations see my empire and a gentle and wonderful place to be, so if you want to still do business with us, we are more than willing to do so, but we just cannot trade techs any, which is a shame.
The Khmer are incredulous of the fact that not once in trading history has the Spanish embraced a Khmer tech trade.

And they owe their remaining techs. Is it to a Meduian nation? Your lack of response to the Hastings dialog suggests Spain is totally dis-interested in its Meduian neighbours.

Spain rejected our favourable request for Steel in exchange for Scientific Method. But now all Khmer trades are done so we can not trade now in any case.

As Spain is also a member of the AET (club, alliance, whatever) our borders will not remain open for much longer and your supplies of Gold are threatened if you do not revisit your policy on the AET.

                -

If only Sparta had concentrated on working with emancipated countries so that resource trades were varied with the whole world co-operating to achieve enough happiness in all those nations effected (as suggested by Maya originally).

But no, the heavy hand of political interference in other nations affairs was the order of the day.

And why did a Spartan emmisary arrive in Khmer land asking, if not pleading for borders to be re-opened; and stating that the affairs of the world had moved on and we should be friends now. This was only a few periods ago.

And why is the stated defence pact between Portugal and Sparta not sanctioned in international law? If you have an arrangement it must be cemented please (ooc it's a bit lame if you have such a pact yet don't put it in the game)

Khmer suspects the same arrangment between Portugal and Spain yet nothing is official.

I agree that a multitude of pacts is poor but they key ones that are part of your history should be concrete.

This is Khmer way. The honest and transparent way.

                Great tidings gentlemen and ladies.

Exactly what has Khmer done other than defend the rights of nations to political freedom? And support many nations in their development. The rest is fear and supposition

Khmer is outspoken, yes and apologise for ruffling feathers but surely you are interested in the opinions we express?

International dialog may be uncomfortable at times but dialog is less dangerous than isolation.

And Xristo, our troops in Xristo City are purely defensive as Khmer intelligence shows that New Portugal is chock full of Cannon and Cavalry. We fear them. We have no designs on your cities but merely wish to defend Xristo City.

                  • Noble Friends of the AET,

I would publicly state that Russia would welcome the Maya into our community if they so wish it.

As for a total embargo of all traffic between Khmer and member states I am wholly opposed! To penalise a nation that itself has been wronged goes against all natural justice.

As for Portugal, I ask why do you place clerics in already converted cities? Did you really believe that Russia would not notice? These supposed men of the cloth were obviously spies operating in such a flagrant manner so as to add insult to injury. Russia was enirely within her rights to expel these agents and chose the only pacifist method of doing so. If you wish to refuse our offer of re-opening borders then so be it. I think that the 2g per round lost from the cancellation of the deal to be something that the Russian economy will be able to recover from.

                    Yours in Love and Peace,

                    • Prince Andrei Boglubski,

Your vote against Khmer sanctions has been counted.
For clearance, the Khmer are not being sanctioned because they are being 'wronged'.
They are because they are threatening individual nations because they are members of the AEL. The latest threatening were directed at Russia and Spain.

                      Most recent example:
Suryavarman 3 said: As Spain is also a member of the AET (club, alliance, whatever) our borders will not remain open for much longer and your supplies of Gold are threatened if you do not revisit your policy on the AET.
That is why a sanction was proposed against the Khmer.
If they abandon their politics of threatening AEL nations we can drop sanctions.
Why do the Khmer not address the AEL in general? Their attempts to threaten individual member states is a sore attempt to destroy the AEL with evil means.

But you are free to vote against such sanctions. Your vote has been counted.

                        • [OOC]I have opposed selecting defence pact with Portugal in-game because I don't want to be lead by game mechanics in these things.
We have a defence pact, which will be effectuated manually.

With all those in-game mechanics we have an everybody vs everybody war as soon as 1 nation attacks another nation.
I will not be pulled into a war with 10 nations because of silly defence pacts.
I would suggest that nobody uses defence pacts.
They only cause chain reactions that nobody can control.

So: believe me, Sparta and Portugal do have a defence pacts, it's just not being ruled by silly game mechanics.[/OOC]

                          • Suryavarman, in response to your public letter:

If only Sparta had concentrated on working with emancipated countries so that resource trades were varied with the whole world co-operating to achieve enough happiness in all those nations effected (as suggested by Maya originally).
You can rule your nation in any way you want, but I do consider 'pleasing the rioting mob with luxurious products" not a very good way to administer a nation.
We prefer it to keep riots away from our streets.

And you are wrong about not being willing to make deals with Emancipation nations.
The AET is close to sign a deal with the Maya. We are open for debate and compromises.

You have big talkings about 'all those nations who are being bullied by the AET'.
But factually the Khmer has only laid sanctions on one nation, with whom we now have almost signed a deal that ends all sanctions an problems.

The only nation that has effectuated many sanctions vs many nations are the Khmer, who now have an embargo against Sparta, and threaten Russia and Spain with embargoes. Your words are hypocrite.

No nation in the world, besides the Maya, has expressed the desire to adopt Emancipation. Apart from the non AET members have another 5 nations expressed their sympathy towards the AET, but they just don't want to become a member.
I do not know the exact position of the other few nations, but I think that there is no problem at all. Especially no after we were willing to make a deal with the Maya.

You use the AET for personal politic arguments against Sparta, Russia and Spain.
So you either stop your threatenings against member nations, or we may lay sanctions on you.

And why did a Spartan emmisary arrive in Khmer land asking, if not pleading for borders to be re-opened; and stating that the affairs of the world had moved on and we should be friends now. This was only a few periods ago.
                            There was no pleading.
I just had the idea that now the AET almost had a deal with the Maya, there was no need for trade embargoes between the Khmer and Sparta.
But now I know that your trade embargo is not linked to the AET sanctions against emancipation nations. You just use the AET as an excuse, because if you had really cared about the Maya, you would've lifted embargoes after the AET had made a deal with the Maya.

Regarding our defence pact with Rome, we have always been clear and transparent about it. We have signed it in public. I don't know what you are talking about. Most obviously another form of blackening.
I have learned that the Khmer are not able to try to solve problems with diplomatic means.

Learn about the Maya. The Maya were very able to diplomatic negotiate deals with us, despite our differences of opinion. You lack that ability. You only spread lies and false accuses. I do pity your people for being lead by such an arrogant leader.

                            • THE RISE OF KIM JONG-SEO: PART 1

Kim Jong-seo survey's the bodies at his home in Giang.

Kim shook his head as he looked upon the bodies. There were many, it was a bloody scene. It had clearly been days as the carion birds had their way with many of the corpses; Sung Ye had done much to stop them though. Kim's wife's corpse was moved into the house, but he could still see the bodies, there was a few dead soldiers (one strangely enough was burnt to a crisp). There were arrows everywhere - in the ground, in the house, in the dead corpses. He turned to his brother-in-law, but no words came out.

"I know, you could imagine what I felt when I saw this." Sung Ye said, remembering that day he returned to the carnage.

A single tear fell from Kim's eye, "This is a uniform of Wonsan, they did this!" he said, clutching his unsheathed sword even tighter, there was no use having it out but it gave him solace. He hadn't seen his wife's remains yet, but he knew he would. He knew he'd see his dead child.

"I must bring you inside, you must se her Kim." Sung Ye said, approaching the General. "You had better give me that sword, I do not want you to do anything drastic."

Kim gave him a death stare, and walked into the house. His wife was already prepared for her final rites. She was laid out upon a table, hand-crafted by Sung Ye. He would never say it but he spent two weeks mourning her loss, preparing this table alone. Kim fell to his knees and caressed her cheek, his eyes began to well up as his lip quivered, "...no..." he muttered, "....how could they.... why...." he then realized her belly was no longer showing pregnancy, "Where is our child?" he said, still staring into her eyes.

"He is gone, he is safe."

                              "So he lives?" Kim asked.

"Yes, I have sent him away, far away, with father. They will not hurt him." Sung Ye answered.

Kim rose to his feet and turned around, his eyes burned with rage, "WHO? Who will not hurt him?" he said as he menacingly approached his brother-in-law, raising his sword.

"KIM, STOP!" Sung Ye said, backing into some pots, knocking them to the floor, "Control yourself! Please!" he held up a letter...

                              General Kim,

We have your wife. If you value her life, and the life of your unborn child you will turn yourself over to me in the ruins of the old monastery in the moutnains of Jogye. You will come alone, and your pregnant wife will be spared. You will give over your life for hers.

                              - Bojong of Wonsan
...Kim read the letter, "What the hell is this Sung Ye? She is right here! What does this mean?"

"They tried to take her, but somebody stopped them. Somebody killed her." he said.

Kim pointed his sword at Sung Ye, "You had better stop f*cking with me boy! Why is she dead?"

Sung Ye closed his eyes tightly and held it up, it was an arrow. From a crossbow. It was an arrow from Park Long's Crossbow...

                              The Peasant's Rally of Pusan.

Days later General Kim finally arrived in the city of Pusan, Goguryeo's southernmost city. He was commander of all forces in Goguryeo and had already assembled the peasant armies of Pyong'yang, as per his orders. He was supposed to rally all soldiers of Goguryeo against the threat in Wonsan, but when the Mayans occupied Alemanni (Quixqona) the Emperor slightly modified his orders to move his forces north to threaten the Mayans. With his mandate still in tact Kim was able to combine a large army, even outnumbering the now decimated Imperial force (which fought a long and bloody battle with Wonsan just months prior). This new army was supposed to alleviate the old one, and threaten the Mayans into accepting a peace deal that would return the Alemanni territory to Korea. That would soon change.

General Kim approached his men and General Suk Yong. A Greek General Lyssander Mikanos of Knossos was present. He had a high affinity for Korea, having lived in a city very close to Korea and inhabited by a higher than normal Korean population (for a normal Greek city anyway) he spoke Korean fluently and often dined on Korean cuisine. Since Greece had been in relative peace for centuries he often enjoyed reading about the exploits of Korean Generals who were off on diplomatic missions (often Korean military officials acted as diplomats), especially the journey of General Jumong, and the voyage of Generals Han Gong and Kim Jong-seo. To him Kim was not only a celebrity, but also a man of great honor and experience. The Greeks had come to Pusan days earlier to help the Koreans learn new tactics they would need to fight the stronger and more advanced Mayan army which threatened their northern border. The Greeks brought new Rifles and Cannons for the Koreans to use in their northern war, and the army of Pusan was easily the most advanced army in Korea at the time, boasting an intimidating array of siegecraft from Hwachas to Cannons. The soldiers were prepared to give the Mayans a run for their money, but Kim Jong-seo had other ideas. He approached the dais, before the crowd of men and began to deliver a speech that would later be known as the Peasant's Rally of Pusan...

"My brave brave boys of Goguryeo. I know, I am tardy by many days, many weeks, even months. I have been gone discovering the truth, and no I don't mean it in some anecdote you'd hear from a monk. Or some serman from a Taoist priest, or even a lecture from a teacher. No, I have learned real truth. True grit, the truth of life and death and how cheap it has become in this country. How mere power, no matter how insignificant the world may deem it, can cause men to do the most horrible things to eachother. Even to those that they call friends. Even to those who have served them without condition, who have done horrible things for them and their family throughout the years. I will tell you men of Pusan, men of Pyong'yang; I have done horrible things for the Imperial family. I have lied, I have cheated, I have stolen, and yes I have killed. In fact I killed one of our very own, Gang Jo. Yes, I know, an honorable man of Pyong'yang, the top Commander to Warlord Wang Geon, and I killed him to hide a secret. A secret that is so terrible, it alone would tear apart our Empire. Our Emperor is NOT blood royalty, our Emperor is the spawn of an illegitimate congress between the ancient Princess Sinjeong and General Gang Jo. This family has no legitimacy to the throne, and yet they claim they are of noble blood. They are high-born, and better than the lot of you! Better than real, salt-of-the-earth men of Goguryeo, men of Korea. The workers of the land, the shapers of the land, and the defenders of the land. These men are foolish, they use you for their own power which is upon a basis that is imaginary. They call you peasants, serfs, commoners, but in reality they are no different from you than you are from one another. You bleed the same blood, and make the same mistakes; lust, greed, fear, arrogance. We are not below them, by our numbers alone, by our work alone, we are greater than they can ever wish to be. And they know this, which is why they try and keep you down. Our war will not be against Maya, but against Gojong himself! Men of Goguryeo, in their petty squabble these men have killed my wife! They do not see us as worthy lives, they see us slaves, as servants, to their decedant palaces and vast estates. They tax you into oblivion, they have cost this country half of its population! If you are true defenders of Korea we must attack the true enemy; the Imperialists!"

Many of the men in the crowd were already loyal to Kim, particularly the army of Pyong'yang. It didn't take much to get Pusan on his side. Goguryeo was the hardest hit by Imperial policies. It lost many men in a war that most people saw as a battle between Joseon and Silla (rather than a simple uprising), and they felt that this war had cost them dearly. Due to the mad rush for power half of the Korean population was lost (due to slaving) and many had already questioned the ability of Gojong to rule the Empire effectively. There was still anger over the Farmer Massacre in Seoul, and finally something could be done about it. Many farmers had lost their land, lost their money and had become homeless. This restlessness filled Kim's ranks as his army marched to Seoul...

                              • THE RISE OF KIM JONG-SEO: PART 2

                                I and the public know
                                What all schoolchildren learn,
Those to whom evil is done
                                Do evil in return.

                                - W.H. Auden

The Peasant Armies (as they came to be known) of Kim Jong-seo marched unchallenged through the countryside of Goguryeo. They barely faced any opposition at all on their way to Seoul. Much of the Imperial army was still in Wonsan, and the army that was with Emperor Gojong was mainly comprised of the division that marched in parades; so they had little to no combat experience and were hardly prepared for combat. Kim's army, on the other hand, was comprised of new units (from Greece) as well as an array of Hwachas and some of Korea's best soldiers from Pyong'yang. The intent was not necessarily to fight the Imperialists, but to force them to lay down their power.

There was hardly a plan for what would ensue following this insurrection. Many of the soldiers were of the farmer/peasant class and had been part of a group called the Farmers Union for a Constitutional Korea (or *******.), Sung Ye was the leader of this organization which had been working to gain tax breaks for farmers who had seen a steep increase in their taxes since Korea expanded overseas to New Portugal. Their ability to challenge the Imperial practice was curtailed greatly when peasants were no longer permitted to join the military, and thus become entirely powerless. A few peasants, such as Kim Jong-seo, were grandfathered in and were able to remain in military service. This combined with the Farmer's Massacre (which was originally a protest of the tax hike) and the signing of the Anti-Emancipation Treaty made Gojong the most despised Emperor ever.

When they arrived at Seoul there was hardly any resistance to their forces, a small force of footsoldiers ordered them to leave by the Peasant Army made short work of them, not losing a single man, and continued on their way to the Imperial Palace, cheered on by throngs of supporters in the streets of Seoul (the capital itself lost over 60% of its population due to famine and slaving during the Nobles' Wars, and was getting sick of Gojong and his internal politics). General Kim and General Mikanos (who had become fast friends) approached the gates, there was an army of guards waiting for them.

"I would advise you to stand down!" General Kim said, "You are vastly outnumbered, we are not here to make trouble, we simply want to arrest the Emperor for his crimes against this country!"

"General Kim" a guard said, "Would that not cause trouble?"

"No more than has already been done soldier, I order you to open these gates or we shall do it for you!" Kim replied.

The guards' captain thought for a moment, and then nodded, and just like that the gates were opened. Without a fight...

                                Meanwhile, Inside the Palace.

"Emperor, I am pleased to report the trap has worked. Our men await the peasants inside the main courtyard, your gardens will be ruined but it is the perfect opportunity to catch them off-guard." General Park Long reported.

"Very good, and Kim? Is he among the rabble?" the Emperor asked.

"Unfortunately sir he is, he is accompanied by some Greek as well, we believe. If not Greek than Roman perhaps, he has that look. He is wearing our clothing though, so perhaps he is a spy." Park Long said.

"Damned Orestes!" the Emperor said, neither man realized what was really happening, "It is of no matter, we will soon destroy this vermin once and for all. Speaking of Greeks, how go the negotiations?"

Park Long hesitated to tell him, "Emperor, the Greeks were not pleased with your latest reply. They think you reach too far when going for the Gobi. Perhaps too quickly as well, just following the civil war with Wonsan and all."

"So what did they say?" as he asked this commotion was heard outside, the battle had begun but the Emperor ignored it. Park Long turned towards the window, "GENERAL! What did they say?!"

"Apprently sir, they intend on ending all ties with Korea. They say they will leave us up to our own devices to deal with the Maya and they demand we return their military equipment and personnel." Park Long explained.

The Emperor was fuming, "Is that so? Well then, if that is what Orestes would like then so be, we will have no choice but to give in to the Mayan demands. Without Greek support we are no match for the Mayans." he took a sip of wine, Park Long again looked out the window.

                                In the Courtyard.

As soon as Kim's armies entered the courtyard they were attacked by Imperial soldiers who attempted to block them in the gates. They made a crucial error though; the Imperial soldiers were all armed with swords while the majority of the Peasants were using long pikes, this gave them a distinct advantage ni the small corridor that was the palace gates. The Imperials were unable to reach the Peasant Army as they slowly drove into the Imperial soldiers using their long pikes, leaving a pile of death in the corridor. General Kim urged them on as they made a final push through the corridor. As the Peasants reached the courtyard itself a rain of arrows fell upon them taking many lives. The Imperials were assured of victory as Gojong and Park Long watched from a nearby balcony. But then the Greek Rifles came into play. With traditional muskets there was no real accuracy, and musketmen would simply form lines to maximize the effect of their volleys, but these riflemen were not only using more accurate weapons but they were also sharpshooters sent to train Korean soldiers. Their aim was deadly accurate as they picked off the Imperial crossbowmen, turning the tide.

Finally the rest of the Peasant Army made their way into the courtyard as many Imperial soldiers began to drop their weapons in surrender. Some fought on still, but it was becoming increasingly apparent that this would become a rout; there were just too many peasants for the Imperial army to withstand and the army in Wonsan was too damaged, and too far to respond.

                                Minutes Later, Upstairs...

General Park Long was dispatched to order the troops against the insurgents, as the Emperor patiently awaited word from below. He was strangely comfortable with either outcome as he sat and considered what the near future might hold.

A guard ran into the Emperor's throne room, "Emperor, Emperor, the Peasants are reaching the Imperial gardens, they will soon be here. Our guards have been defeated."

"Does General Park know of this?" the Emperor asked.

"Yes sir, he is awaiting your orders." the soldier replied.

"The General awaits my orders" he sighed, "My orders, let us see. Fetch my my Imperial robes boy, and come with me..."

The End of Gojong of Silla, and the Korean Empire.

After getting dressed in one of his finest robes the Emperor walked out onto one of his balconies, his favorite one that overlooked Seoul and quietly surveyed the scene. It was on the other side of the palace, so there was no battle to worry about. Things were calm, ordered, as they should be. He looked into the distance as the bustling city skyline spewed forth smoke stacks; a sign of life and industry. He felt contented with this reign. Until it finally hit him; this was all his doing. And for the rest of history, in all the world everyone would know it. Everyone would know it was Gojong who lost the Korean Empire...

Back inside the throne room Gojong gathered any nobles that were still in court, as well as his commanders and ministers. This would be the final meeting, and many of them were quite aware of it. A solemn mood filled the chamber as the Emperor entered. General Park Long was the first to greet him, "My liege, we must depart at once, there is no time for this."

"In due time boy." the Emperor said as he walked to his throne, he sat down, "I will not waste any more of your time, loyal friends of Korea. As you know, our palace is being overrun. The peasant armies have made their way into the courtyard, and the Imperial gardens. They will soon be approaching the main palace. They have only breached one gate, there are three others that can be used as an exit. I'd suggest the north gate, for you can easily travel the Han back to Wonsan where the majority of our army stays." Many were happy to hear this, as they expected their Emperor to force them to stay behind and fight, "For my part, well I shall stay here. I have brought this day upon myself, and I shall take what I have coming to me."

Everyone was shocked, nobody saw this coming (especially the one short guy who can't act), the Emperor continued; "I have done many terrible things, the peasants have been treated horribly. I have been a bad Emperor, and I deserve to die this dishonorable death at the hands of these lowly peasants. Ku Kai, I want you to return to the Maha Bodhi, you and the Dalai Lama must assist the berieved and control the city. I do not want Seoul descending into chaos."

                                "Yes Emperor." Ku Kai replied.

"Emperor, it doesn't have to be like this! Perhaps we can surrender, if you hand over your power they may be lenient to you, to us. We still have armies in Wonsan, if we can contact them we can turn the tide!" Park Long said, he didn't want to be the last Imperial Commander, and under these circumstances.

"No General, these are your final orders. Leave me here, save your skins. I am tired, and prepared to die..."
