Beyond the Pit [Pitboss Diplomacy Game] [Story Thread] . PART 4 (November)
The Whit Lotus came to the passage way to Ansuji.
There they saw the powerful Takeda warship Shadow
of Death, the captain thought it wise to let Hanzo and
him men stay on the Oldonian coast as they fought the
powerful ship. A few moments later the battle began,
the two ships clashed as Hanzo’s troops watched from
the coast line. Just as soon as it began it was finished.
The White Lotus was the victor, the crew was injured
but none where killed and the ship was heavily
damaged but still able to sail on. The captain then
returned to the coast to pick up Hanzo’s forces then set
sail to Ansuji. It was still going to be a two day trip but
at least from what they could see, the ay was now clear
for them to land on Ansuji.
Back in Kyoto Philip of Sparta was given temporary
control over Japan until Itoku returned. Normally this
would never happen but, since Itoku appointed Philip
him military advisor they had no choice but to follow his
commands. As his first orders he sent the workers near
Ino and Nara to chop down the forest around them so
that the building being built would finish. He allowed the
religious advisor to make Jewdisum the official religion.
He sent orders the imperial archers in Tango to stay
where they were until reenforcements came. He then
tor down Honoji Castle and began to rebuild the castle
bigger and better then it ever was for the return of Itoku
New Mayan boats made travel to distant lands quicker and more reliable. Gibson decided it was time to send messages out to various leaders.
Portugal: Your discovery of new lands beyond the coast intrigues us. However, your claims to those lands dismays us. Do you have colonies there? Does your culture hold influence there? Or are these "claims" based simply on missives sent back from your explorer parties? If I was to claim every peice of unoccupied land my explorers set eyes upon my empire would stretch half the world. Portugal and Maya have always had good relations in the past, and your sharing of military knowledge has benefited us greatly. It would be tragic for disputes over unsettled land to sour our relationship.
Oldonia: Your adoption of Islam over Taoism is disheartening to me. You realize Islam is a denomination of Judism? You realize that offerings given by your people fill the coffers of one of the richest nations on Terra? Worst of all, you have chosen Jewish lies over Tao truth?
Russia: I had high hopes you would be a willing recipient of Taoism, but it appears you have taken to Islam as well. Tell me, what do you get in return for sending your money to the rich Portuguese? Were you aware that Maya bestows gifts to those who embrace the truth?
Wayndots: The Maya have gifted knowledge of Theology to you after your pledge to adopt Taoism as your official state religion, yet many years pass with no change in policy. My hope is that you are waiting for the truth to spread to more of your cities before making the announcement. If however you have had a change of heart, I would respectfully request a voucher to pay for what was to be a gift.
Rome: Your nation continues to impress us, as does your diplomacy with your neighbors. The Mayans agree with Greece however concerning the promises made by your predecessors. The Mayans hold accountablity in the highest regards as this is a core value of Taoism. Beyond the moral obligations however is the issue of trust. How will Maya be able to make future deals with Rome when we see your disregard for deals made with other nations?
Peircia: It appears our explorers arrived at Meeting a bit too late for the meeting. Thank you for allowing them safe passage however. Yours is an impressive nation, and it is good to see a fellow jungle civilization flourish. I hope the issue of Cozumel does not create bad blood between our people. I cannot however either afford or justify offering payment for the island. Perhaps in the future the Maya will offer a gift to bring our people closer together, but it will be a gift, not a payment.
Greece: Let it be known we support your grievances concerning Rome's disregard for past agreements. Although we cannot and will not pledge military support, we have canceled trade deals with Rome. Our boarders remain open with the Romans however, as we have noted that Greece herself has not broken open boarders with Rome. What is your official stance nowadays concerning Rome? Also, I would kindly ask that the Greeks consider adopting Taoism as their state religion. We can pledge more missionaries to help all your cites become experienced.
Korea: Sejong, congratulations on your marriage. That being said, I have to say I was horrified to hear that Aztec slaves were brought onto Mayan soil. Although the Mayans wage war with the Aztecs, we denounce slavery. The Aztec may be a backwards and somewhat savage people compared to the Koreans and Mayans, but we must respect their dignity. I don't know if you have forgotten, but I am of Aztec blood.
Spain: Congratulations on the birth of your heir to the throne. I myself hope one day for a son, but so far my wife only gives me females. Trade between Maya and Spain increases every day, and I hope we can continue our exchange of goods overseas. Currently we have a surplus of silk, sugar, and dye if this interests you, and of course we are always willing to export our wonderful religion.

To Maya,
We do not know the sex of the child yet since I have not given birth yet, but I am very close to giving birth so we will let the whole world know about it. We certainly agree that it is good to trade so hopefully soon we will get some more resources to trade with you and other nations. Soon we expect to be getting more resources to share with those who are in need.

I am so excited. I have been throwing up for the past week or so, so I thought something was wrong with me, then once i saw a doctor he told me that he had some good news for. He said that I was pregnant. We do not know the sex of the child or children, since the doctor does not know how many ther vcould be inside me. I am just so happy.
Ahhh, Celtic fertility wheat bring you much joy to your lands
We have to report the sad news that the Lonely Voyager has been destroyed by pirates. Since they were unarmed and sent on a nation seeking mission they had no chance of fighting against them. We are officially in mourning. Please allow us some time to get over this shocking news.
We thank you for your understanding words!
We are willing to convert to Taoism, but we need to know more about Taoism. If you can at least spread Taoism to our city of Athens, then we can consider converting to this religion and philosophy!
I find your insult of our religion most insulting. Yes we are aware that our people currently are sending valuables to the mullahs in the Holy city of Islam, but this faith has taken great hold among my people and as such has become our state religion. If you wish to spread other faiths you are free to do so as we are a open society welcome to all manner of people and traditions as long as they are willing to trade and increase the profit of Novgorod.
Send your missionaries. If your faith has merit I am sure my people will adopt it along with our other religions.
A lone Oldonian fishing boat sailed into the Celtic homeland. The fishermen were welcomed into the Celtic capitol and given much food and drink for their journey. During the feast, the fisherman discussed their worldly travels. In asking how the fisherman managed to complete such a long journey, the captain removed a small metal disc from his pocket. He referred to the disc as a "compass" and explained how it always pointed north. The Celtic people were very much impressed and the captain gave Brennus his compass.
The Oldonian fisherman were impressed of the devout following of the Celtic religion and wanted to know more about Celtic beliefs. After many days, the Oldonian fisherman were given much knowledge of the Celtic theology to take back to the Oldonian home land.
Long ago the before the creation of the world the old
gods forged a sword unlike any other. This sword was
so powerful that noone except the sun god could
sontrol its power. The water gods grew jelious of the
sun god’s sword so the water gods made plans to take
this sword from the sun god. So they waited unthil the
sun was covered by the moon and the water become
more powerful. The water gods reached up to the sun
and stole the sword. But was the moon moved away
from the sun the watergods lost their control over the
sword. The earth gods fearing what would happen if
this sword was to fall into the wrong hands again,
incased the swords in stone and formed an Island big
enough to hide its power from the other gods. This
island became the island of Japan. It was said that
oneday a decendant of the sun god would find the
sword and pull it frim it’s earth prison.
Itoku had heard the story of the legendary Kusanagi-no-
Tsurugi since he was a small boy. He had always
thought of it as simply a child’s story until a few years
ago. When the Sun God’s armor was found in the ruins
of Osaka, Itoku decided to try and find out which stories
were true and which were not. So he left knowing
Japan would be in Philip’s good hands. After many
months of traveling through the jungles Itoku reached
the base of the great waterfall of fire. The water from
that waterfall was so hot that it could melt any metal.
The moutain waterfall was not the only challenge he
had to face. If he made it to the top he had to get across the lake of ages. The lake of ages increases the
age of anyone who enters it and the ferther in a perosn
went the faster they would age. Noone had ever made
it past the waterfall other then the first emperor Jimmu.
Itoku was not a fool. He knew he could never make it
up the moutain so he looked towards the old legends to
find a what he needed. So he traveled to the great
library in Ino. In Ino was a great collection of knowledge
he could use to find what he needed to find in order to
get the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi.
My wife the beautiful Isabella of Spain has given birth to a boy and girl. We have given them beautiful names as well, Price Henry and Princess Penelope.
My Isabella wanted me to read this to you:
"I am very tired dear husband; I need you to declare to the world that I Isabella have given birth to twins. Tell the world that Henry will be the king of Portugal, and Penelope will one day become ruler of the Spainish Empire."
I invite all to join us in celebrating this special moment for our royal family.
Congratulations on the new family. May they both grow
healthy and strong so that one day they may rule over
their countries as honorably as their parents.
