To: General Aelius
Mr. General,
We have heard rumours from travellers that visited our city that you are not trustful.
Forgive me for sending you this message, but you may understand that I start to doubt the value of the deal we made. Therefore I want to contact you directly regarding these rumours. I have no pleasure in hearing rumours that may be wrong. I'd rather talk with you about these rumours then with others.
Can you please inform me about the nature of these rumours. Is it true that deals made with you are worthless? Or can we trust you to live up to your deal?
Be aware that I never ceased to build up my army, both by building floaters and by building phalanxs. I will use these armies to invade Persia the moment that it appears that you do not live up to your deal.
If you are honourable and respectable and you will live up to our deal, then there is no need to worry. Sparta does always live up to it's deal. We owe that to our honourable nature.
If these rumours turn out to be false I will execute those travellers myself.
Please let me know as soon as possible.
Know that from tomorrow on I will start producing our fleet of floaters.
Alexander of Sparta
