To the Piercians
Piercians, you should know that you cannot insult Sparta any longer. Our relationships have been difficult from the start on. Now even after many attempts to negotiate peace you continue to insult us. You have rejected all our fair trade proposals. We even proposed iron for gems or two random resources for gems. You continue to reject everything.
Now word has reached us that you are marching against an unknown nation far from Sparta. We cannot trust you, that has been made clear.
Therefore I have sent all my armies towards your borders.
We certainly will invade your territory to protect ourselves, if necessary.
If you do not want to see our phalanxs take your cities you should show us your desire for friendship with Sparta by supplying us with gems for free.
My words are backed by copper weapons.

Spartans,
You have never offered Us a trade that would benefit both of us. But We never stopped negociations, or did We refuse to explain why your different purposals were not acceptable. We have offered you to trade your sheeps for Our pigs, and were currently thinking about opening Our borders to your merchants.
Your step is mostly unexpected and even more difficult to understand. Know that such behaviour will bring you nothing. As this may be the consequence of a missunderstanding, We would accept your excuses if you are willing to make them, without any repercussions on our future relationship that could be profitable to both of us.
Our "war" is one led out of dept, and is a mark for Us standing by Our words. If you can't see the honor in that, We may advise that you practice that "meditation" you wished to trade for Our arts of sailing a little. There is nothing you need to protect your people from. Seriously, are you insane ?
If you persist, let your soldiers die on Our shores if you wish to. Nobody will ever scare a Piercian.
Empress Iris of the Piercian Empire
OOC: Update, i did not see your last PM, i have answered it. That's where the missunderstanging came from. If you wish to contact me without me not seeing a message, use plompmail please.Last edited by Pitboss Persia; September 9, 2008, 16:33.

A new beginning
The Legend of Jimmu begins long ago on the southern
island Known as Iwo. There it is said that the sun gods
created Jimmu. From boy hood he was raised as a great
leader. He fought many battles against fearsome
opponents from all over the known world. He learned to
always use his head before taking action.
He was well versed in the different languages of the
known world and was eager to learn more. For many
years he traveled the world learning from other
civilizations until he was 29 yrs of age. Jimmu returned
home to find that the once power hungry tyrant who
ruled for thousands of years was killed by her own
lover. From the stories told to Jimmu the former
empress was poisoned by her lover around the same
time the great pyramids were finished. Regretting what
he did the former empress's lover then took his own life
along with the rest of the ruling body of Japan leaving it
in disorder.
For years Japan fell deeper and deeper into
darkness with no hope of getting back. When Japan
reached its darkest hour Jimmu arrived. He brought light
to the darkened Japan and gave hope to those who
had non. The people of Japan praised Jimmu as a living
god and followed his every word. He was considered
the first true Emperor of Japan and one of the first in
the world. During his reign he expanded the Empire of
Japan and improved the relations that the former
empress tarnished.

To the Emporer of Japan From the Prince of the United Oldonian Provinces. It is with a gladdend heart that the news of your succession to the throne of Japan has occured. The people of Oldonia have long remembered the brave wariiors of Japan who stood in the face of the Barbarians and did slow them doewn enough to allow the Oldonian Axemen to slay the final survivors. The Japanese warriors are remembered in the Folk songs of the Oldonian minstrels. The southern lands of Oldonia whilst not free from terrorism are a much safer place today due to the Japanese. So it was with much trepidation we heard of the Japanese suffering from no leader for so long. But now all is good as you take the throne. We do open our borders to your people. to travel to and fro. We hear of your own limitations on expansion due to barbarians in your north. We shall send three legions of fighters to clear the land for you to settle. To conclude this celbratiion of new reltionships, our diplomats are sailing to your shores as we speak. They wish to discuss plans of deeper ties between our two nations and of establishing mutual protection agreements, Once again congratulations on the return of Japan to the ancient leaders.
From: Jimmu Emperor of Japan
We whole heartedly accept your offer to open borders
and welcome your people to visit
Japan. We will hold a great feast for you and your
troops in our capital. there we can discuss plans of
deeper ties between our people and establishing a
mutual protection agreement. It is my hope to try to
work to regain the honor of Japan that was tarnished
by the former tyrant empress. May your journey to our
shores be safe and may our talk bring long lasting
peace for both of our people.
Jimmu

The Uncertain Future of Korea...
The summit in Seoul achieved many things, but left just as many issues up in the air. While a tentative agreement supporting open borders and the spread of religion was achieved, particular plans over the land bridge and the proposed canal were not finalized, although negotiations were ongoing. The world had grown much smaller in recent years, and Regent Bae had grown much older. He knew his time was limited, and realized he had to prepare Sejong for his Empire very soon.
Shin Sung stood looking over the latest proposal to the Greeks "I think they will accept it sir, it isn't too much to ask, and they realize we will defend this ithsmus with our lives."
Bae was staring off into the distance, he turned around towards Shin Sung "I'm sorry, did you say something?"
"Yes General" Shin Sung smiled "I said the proposal should be accepted" he placed the map on the table "Is everything going well with you?"
"I just have a lot on my mind, the Maya report there is a Greek army headed north, past the land-bridge, rumor has it they head to Piercia." Bae explained.
"I've heard, what is our position sir?"
"What position can we have, by the time they reach Piercia I will no longer be Regent, we currently have our men in the field marching to the Aztec stronghold. We haven't the men to spare at this point General" Bae said, pouring himself some water, his wrists trembled slightly from arthritis.
"Here sir, I'll take care of that" Shin Sung said.
Bae quickly pulled his hand away "I am not that old Shin Sung" he said defiantly, pouring his own water "I just need rest, I have been up without sleep to many nights. Worrying. And Sejong has been in Pyongyang this whole time."
"I understand sir" Shin Sung replied "Shall I send for the Emperor?"
"No, no that isn't necessary." Bae stood up "I will send him a note, it is time for him to assume control."
Shin Sung was caught off guard; he knew that Sejong would one day rule, but this wasn't a reality he had truly considered "Are you sure sir?"
"He has come of age by now" Bae said "I don't want the people to suspect a schism, we've been here in Seoul and he in Pyongyang. The rumors already fly, and I know Hae Mosu has been buzzing in his ear, like a busy little bee."
"More like an annoying gnat." Shin Sung laughed.
"Yes, perhaps, but it is important that I speak with young Sejong before I turn over the reigns of the Empire, with our negotiations still in progress, the Aztec wars nearing an end and this business with the Greeks and Piercians I can't simply hand him the throne. Not without consulting me first at least."
"I'll prepare a message General." Shin Sung replied.
"No no, I'll write it myself..." Bae said...
Weeks Later, Pyongyang...
Sejong fell to his back, his staff fell from his hand as his assailant stood over him, "Time to die boy!!!" the soldier said, lifting his axe above his head.
"Not quite!" Sejong said, rolling out of the way as the axe slammed into the dust, Sejong quickly rolled and slammed the butt of his staff into his attacker's knee. It buckled and he fell to the floor "You've gotta be quicker than that old man."
Sejong's attacker turned and smiled "You know Sejong" he said "I let you do that?"
"Sure you did General Jumong" Sejong smiled, he held out his hand and lifted General Jumong to his feet "Am I as good as my old man?"
"Wouldn't know, never fought him. I didn't know him very well, but he did send me to Tikal with Bae Hyeongyeong and Hae Mosu, if it wasn't for your father I wouldn't be the rank I am today." Jumong explained.
"You've got that right, not with YOUR moves!" Sejong laughed "We should go north, and join General Han Gong, fight those wretched Aztecs ourselves!"
"Settle down young master, you're too important to risk on such a trivial war, it will be over by the time we arrived anyway" he said, wiping some sweat from his brow "Oh look, here comes Hae Mosu himself."
Hae rushed into the courtyard "A message from General Bae, it may be time."
Sejong knew what he meant, but asked anyway; "Be time for what Minister Hae?"
"I don't want to jinx it, here, read this..."

TO: His Excellency Sejong of Goguryeo, Supreme King of Silla, Emperor of Korea
FROM: General Bae Hyeongyeong, Regent of Korea
Your Excellency,
I write you personally and confidentially. Your time has finally come. You shall ascend the Imperial throne here in Seoul. Prior to this however, I request that you come speak with me without advisors in a private discussion over the recent global events. The summit in Seoul has gone very well, however there are a few loose ends that need to be tied up, and with the ongoing war against the Aztecs it is quite imperative that you consult me before carrying on your tasks as Emperor. I have a few requests as well as to the make-up of the Imperial court and the establishment of our Buddhist faith throughout the lands of the Maya and Greeks.
Following our meeting we will have dinner with Foreign Minster Hae Mosu, Lama Subo, and General Shin Sung to discuss the future of the Korean Empire among its allies. Then you shall be named Emperor. I wish you speed and safety for your travels.
There are many issues I left out of this missive for fear of interception, so make haste to Seoul.
-General Bae Hyeongyeong, Regent of Korea

To: Alexander of Sparta
From: General Aelius, Dictator of Rome
I the Dictator of Rome, representative of the Roman Republic send you this message. We have not yet met your people, yet the Piercians have agreed to allow send this message to you without tampering with it.
Let us assure you that the Piercians are only fulfilling their obligations towards us by participating in this war, you're words would be considered insults to Rome if it was not for your ignorance about the north.
The Piercians are honorable people and keep their word in matters of trade and war, I am certian you can make a good deal with them. If you should not do so and pursue war with them and by so doing pushing them out of our current war with Portugal I shall be most... *agitated* and our first contact will be markedly unpleasant.
Rome is fighting this war with Portugal over a conflict fought a millennium ago, we Romans have long memories and will remember the name Alexander and what it stood for when we hear of Sparta in the centuries to come. It is off course your choice of whether this will be ill or good...
PS You say your words are backed by copper weapons. We prefer Iron.

The elders of Oldonia met in front of the Statue of the great one.
They were the prophets of the people.
Word had come to them from the Great one,
The WORD was WAR.
The Prophest called the Prince and told him of the Great Ones Word.
The Prince did fall to his knees and pray.
He ordered the troops to be doubled on the borders.
Word was sent to the Wyandot, to be wary of the dangers in the land. For the Dark Shadow was moving across the lands.
The prince ordered a new expedition to find the pierced ones, once and for all we must know what is going on.

Somewhere in the desert
S - "We have been marching for days now. How far do you want to take me just for killing people ?"
A - "When i have met you in Asizia a few days ago, i saw an impressive woman who had perfectly well fit into piercian life. But since we left Meeting, you are always complaining. Why ?"
S - "I like life itself. The piercians ways can show foreigners like me much warmth. But now i see another face of this Empire. You are going to this war just as you would sell a rice-cake to a man in the street. I know you have been paid very well for your services, but i fail to see..."
A messenger arrived, yelling "My Prince, Oratress !"
A - " What is it ?"
M - " Forgive me for interrupting you, Oratress, but i have important news. Good ones and bad ones."
S - "I'm in mood, begin with the bad ones."
M - "The spartans, Oratress. They have missunderstood something during negociations, and are now adressing demands for tributes to their kingdom. They say that their army is marching towards the Empire."
A - "On foot ? They can't build ships. It will take them a very long time to surround the inner seas."
S - "Have they declared war ?"
M - "No Oratress, but they have made threats."
A -"What's about the good news ?"
M - "My Prince, our scouts have reached a point from where they can see the portuguese city. It seems like their soldiers are fleeing en masse. There is roughly a quarter of their garrison holding their position."
S - "At least there are some who care about their lifes."
A - "How many defenders are left ?"
M - "We can only make estimations, but they seem to be about three thousand men, my Prince."
A - "Could this be a trap ?"
M - "Unlikely, their main forces are too far away for a counter-offensive, and are still heading northwards."
Asiz looked towards Sally with a very serious look.
S - "I feel like i won't like what you will say."
A - "Take a swift mount, Oratress. And show their main forces what awaits them if they return. While you are at it, i will check how many men we can spare to backup our western borders."
S - "I can scare them, but don't you expect me to kill any of them."
A - "Make sure they won't go back to the city, that's all i ask for."
With a sinister look, Sally followed the messenger to the cavalry regiments.
An hour later, on a hill next to the fleeing portuguese forces...
She took a deep breath. The moonlight showed all the size of the portuguese army. She had to scare about 9000 men. To scare them so much, that they won't ever return. She closed her eyes. She knew that there is something missing here. There is no water in the desert. A flood could be frightening. But she knew that manipulating the entire river would be beyond what she can affort by now.
The night was cold, and the sky was clear. She stretched her mind above the entire river, following each drop of water as it ran down it's course. Then she remembered the day of the ceremonial. The heat all around her. Mist filled the valley as the river began to boil. The portuguese army stopped and formed defensive circles.
Soon, the mist had raised high into the sky. She remembered... the movement all around her. The excitement of her awaking to what she had become. The portuguese army now wondered about where theese clouds came from.
She trembled... she was manipulating so much water, so much air. She felt the fear of the army in the valley. Fear...
Tzzzzsh ! Thunder stroke in the middle of several portuguese formations. She fell on her knees, hearing the screams of the men. Searching for suffering, but there was none. She succeded. There was only fear. Noone was harmed.

Rome has conquered the a city from the Port Gauls!
The Portuguese defenders flead and abandoned the city, several where caught and killed by Roman forces nonetheless.
The city has been renamed Petovio and a Roman governor the Pretorian Lucius Postumius Albinus has been installed. Roman forces are firmly entrenched and can keep the city against any attack. They will wait for a few turns until balistas are brought for Rome, and then they will assault Vrata.
Soon the light of civilization will be brought to all the Gauls, we must help them see it.
The Preatorian was honored by a triumph in Rome.Last edited by Pitboss Rome; September 10, 2008, 05:19.
