During the night some of the children with the families in Outpost sneaked onto the walls of the city. From where they can see the fires of the roman encampments. The oldest boy 12 had his father's axe the rest, his younger little friends took a dozen bows, the ones which had no bows took some arrows. Some of the children were even shorter than the big Portuguese bows. The little ones with the arrows shaking but still holding their hands steady loaded their friends weapons.

The night was cold and the sky full of dark clouds.

Alexander finally arrived in Seoul after many many many months of travelling.
First he visited Bae and apologized.

"My name is Alexander, I come to inform you about the dead of Menelaus. He was killed by a Persian murderer but there was some justice in this murdering.

I apologize for my late arrival. You may understand that I had to take care of many responsibilities after the dead of Menelaus. I am the new leader of the Spartanians now.

All former deals made between Korea and Sparta by Lacedaemon will be respected."

Bae took Alexander to some central building.
There Alexander informed Bae about the issues he wanted to discuss.

      1. We are willing to fully open our borders between all the nations of the south. (Maya, Korea and Sparta). We do welcome all kinds of merchants, scientists, soldiers and missionaries. Especially missionaries are most welcome. We have been told about foreign believes and about the culture that such a religion brings forth. Please enlighten us.

      2. We are happy that there is solid peace between the three of us for many years now. Fortunately the Japanese people haven't been able to trick us into a war. I hope that we can establish peace forever.

      3. I hope that we can discuss the possibility of mutual defence against possible foreign enemies. If we can ignore the security of our inner borders we can focus on the security of our outer borders. Since the Spartanian armies are about as strong as the armies of Korea and the Maya together we are very willing to secure your cities when unknown enemies invade them. In return we hope that you will accept our military supremacy and support us in any foreign war that may come.

      4. We have almost reached the borders of our empire. Since the Korean people haven't been graced by much land by their ancestors we are willing to give land away at the north of our empire. There's a so called land-bridge. We will settle a new city soon on the southern-part of the land-bridge. The Koreans are very welcome to settle from the north of the land bridge on. Spartanian soldiers that are present in that regio already will protect these settlements at the early stage of it's development, both against barbarian invasions and foreign invasions.

I am very interested in your response, both from the Maya and the Koreans.

      Alexander of Sparta

Yes, we should develop this into an official agreement though, and it would also hinge on the creation of a Canal zone on the land bridge north of your territory.

This will be a point of contention, I think before any settlements are made our nations should look cooperatively upon the region and determine the best plots for both cities, one of course would have to be a canal so that Mayan and Korean vessels can quickly come to Greek aide in time of war. Territorial ambition is not what drives us, but tactical considerations. The creation of a WORKABLE canal in this area is essential to defense.

I am very interested in your response, both from the Maya and the Koreans.

          Alexander of Sparta
          Those are the responses of Bae Hyeongyeong, the Mayan reaction will come shortly. For now though, I think we should make a tentative agreement until a finalized one is in order, and that should be;

Our three states agree to mutual open-borders, for the purposes of trade and the spread of religion. We should also agree to a general defensive pact including the eradication of the Aztecs (which both the Mayan and Korean armies are working on), it will do our nations better to show our defiance of the trecherous Japanese who have attempted to sully our affairs with their lies.

We should postpone any settlements in the landbridge until a full agreement is made as to the location of the cities. This is not to prevent the Greeks from settling but to ensure that the canal city is placed in a strategic location (and we will agree to the northern area) that will serve as a workable canal and has enough resources to produce defenses. Defenses should also be provided for this city by the three countries involved. Of course this tentative agreement should last until we agree to disagree or until we come up with a more official arrangement.

I will await your responses. (Please send any sensative information to my Private address).

Open boarders between our nations will facilitate trade and breed culture. Korea and Greece, expect Taoist Missionarys to spread the ways of the mushroom to your people.

                  2. We are happy that there is solid peace between the three of us for many years now. Fortunately the Japanese people haven't been able to trick us into a war. I hope that we can establish peace forever.
A strong alliance such as ours will ensure peace in our lands.

The Maya pledge their support against any aggressors that step foot into Greek, Korean, or Mayan lands. We MAY aid in offensive military actions if the end result will bring more security to our alliance. We are however not obligated to any offensive war by this pact alone.

The canal site to the north of Greece is of most interest to Maya. Our brothers the Koreans have concerns about the economic strain such a city might place upon their nation. We encourage Greece to allow Maya the city site that joins the two oceans and includes both rice and pig in its zone of control. In return, we will split any tolls charged among the three of us.

I fully agree with Bae concerning other issues mentioned in this meeting. The Aztecs however will soon no longer be a concern as War Chief Nacon has burned one Aztec city and will burn the other one upon reaching it.

                    Speech to the Roman Senate

One of the Immortals stood in front of the line. His lower face was masked, showing only the cold look in his eyes. He adressed to the senators while calming his horse that had become a little nervous during the regicide.

                    Romans,

I am honored to stand here in front of you. I was born in a city where many of you live together with my people. The city of Meeting is a symbol of what we can gain by working together.

So many of you live and work in my homelands, now the time has come for my people to respond to their oath. I have come here with an army. An army to fight your ennemys side by side with the great legions.

In the desert of Egypt, my Prince leads another army, even bigger than mine. And there shall be nothing on his path, because he travels with the Oratress of Storms, and the spirits have blessed her.

As even more of your people will be sent to my homelands to live there, we have been sent here to pay for lives with lives.

He came down from his horse, and kneeled in front of the senate. The others did the same.

                    My life for Rome !

                    OUR LIFES FOR ROME !!!

                    The Meeting

During the night, two riders had arrived in the city of Meeting. They were led to the other side of the city, on top of the hill, from where they could see the entire campment in the valley. They stopped their horses at the breathtaking sight of the army that filled the valley.

A-"Here we go, Oratress : 6000 axemen, 6000 immortals, 2000 spearmen and 2000 archeresses. Almost everyone of them was trained in the jungles of Wild Kho'Per."

S-"Impressive, my Prince. What do you need a clown like me for with such an army at your disposal ?"

A-"A clown ? You are the one of the propheties ! Holding a cermony in front of the people of Pierced Hill was not just a show, you know ?"

S-"Yes, i know, i know... I hope you don't want me to kill an entire army !"

A-"No, don't worry. Both of us are here mainly for morale purposes. However, we will join the fight."

S-"Easy to say ! You are the one with the amulet, I could get killed !"

A-"What the spirits gave to both of us, shall serve the Empire, like it or not. We are leaving for Egypt in an hour."

S-" In this case we won't serve the empire. We will serve Rome."

A-" You are nitpicking. The Empire has a dept towards Rome. By serving Rome to even the dept, we do serve the Empire."

                    S-" Whatever..."

                    A-"What was that ?"

S-"I said : of course, my Prince."

And so they went down into the valley, taking command of the army and began to prepare for the march on the portuguese city in Egypt.

To the Mayans and the Koreans.

Below you find a map of the so called 'land bridge'.
North of the red-line there's land that can be used by either Mayan or Koreans to expand their nations. The redded-out are just below the red-line can used by the cultural expansion of your (above the red-line built) city.

The thick blue lines show possible sea-routes through the land bridge, including the blue-squared land that can be transformed into a canal. (totally 3 canals).

Sparta is willing to both grand you the land above the red line, as far north as it may go, as will Sparta help you to defend it.
Word has reached us that the Oldonian cities lay further to the north. They have spoken about large vast areas of lands they have around their empire. That may mean that there's a lot of land for you to settle on the north of Sparta.

Therefore I'd like to ask you to not dispute the border as proposed in this proposal since it is very important to Sparta to have a strategical city placed at the south-side of the land bridge.

                      Alexander.

We where too generous in our terms, since we made them without consulting our allies. The only peace deal I can vouch would be accepted is one where you hand over Egypt and Outpost.

                            To the Emporer of Japan

From the Prince of the United Oldonian Provinces.

It is with a gladdend heart that the news of your succession to the throne of Japan has occured.

The people of Oldonia have long remembered the brave wariiors of Japan who stood in the face of the Barbarians and did slow them doewn enough to allow the Oldonian Axemen to slay the final survivors. The Japanese warriors are remembered in the Folk songs of the Oldonian minstrels.

The southern lands of Oldonia whilst not free from terrorism are a much safer place today due to the Japanese.

So it was with much trepidation we heard of the Japanese suffering from no leader for so long.

But now all is good as you take the throne.

We do open our borders to your people. to travel to and fro. We hear of your own limitations on expansion due to barbarians in your north. We shall send three legions of fighters to clear the land for you to settle.

To conclude this celbratiion of new reltionships, our diplomats are sailing to your shores as we speak. They wish to discuss plans of deeper ties between our two nations and of establishing mutual protection agreements,

Once again congratulations on the return of Japan to the ancient leaders.

                              From: Widow of Portugal

Sir you have been declining our offers so far, just to increase the demands each time. Lets not forget that many of the demands where agreed on and you still decline to accept. The previous demand where back breaking but fearing the safety of my countrymen, I gathered the straight and accepted them. Your answer is still NO, even when you asked for them. Now there is a new round of demands, I am a sorry maybe my God Bless him Husband the former King of Portugal may have renegotiated, but I am a women I lack men’s stamina in dealing with such a humiliation.

I will retreat to the safety of my chambers in Korecom and leave my country in the control of the clergy of the city of Vrata to try and save what is left of my husband’s peaceful rule.

                                Outpost

Later that same day in the city of Outpost while doing his usual patrol the axe boy came up on a disfigured male naked body. The lifeless body was horribly tortured; his whole back torso was covered in shallow knife cuts. The boy could still see a short dirty rope hanging from the back of his neck - the boy vomited!!! He could see that the man somehow entered the city from the underground waste channel coming from the river.

Who is this the boy wondered.

Partially covered in waste the boy turned the body to face up, so he can see who it was. There was a wooden tablet hanging affront his chest, the boy could not make anything out, it was written in Roman. Moving to see his face the boy painfully screamed…………………………

                                OHhhh nooooooo my KING!!!!!!!!!!
