    • A man knocked on the door of Alexander's house.
While waiting for the door to open he looked at the house of Lacedaemon

The doors of Lacedaemon's house were still open. Nothing had been touched after he died and Menelaus had been killed.

      The doors opened.
Alexander immediately raised from his chair and walked towards him. "Master Diditos, tell me about your progressions..."

"We're doing very well sir. We expect to have finished the prototype of our galley ready within only a few years. Our current prototypes are already ready to float on the waters but it's impossible to navigate. We have ideas to fix that problem." Diditos answered.

"How does our floater compare to the floaters of the Oldonians and the Piercians we have seen in the past?" Alexander asked.

"Our floaters are far superior sir. Their floaters were nothing more then fishing floaters. Ours are capable to carry many soldiers and fight against other floaters if necessary."

      "Excellent" Alexander said.
"Go to the city of Argos and tell them to make themselves ready to produce these floaters as soon as you've finished the prototype. Tell them to use slaves to rush at least 3 floaters as soon as possible. Then send these floaters to the north where the sea is at it's smallest. How many soldiers can one floater carrey?"

"They're capable to carry two units of phalanxs sir." Diditos said.

"Excellent, it should be possible to bring all units to the other side of the sea in only a few years with three galleys. I assume that they can sail between both costs multiple times."

      "Of course sir"

"Excellent, well, finish your prototype and prepare the people in Argos"

"I will sir Alexander. Just before I left Argos I have inspected the city. I expect that the size of the city will grow soon and the mines in the hills just outside the city will be ready soon as well. More mines are going to be made as well. I expect this city to be able to build these floaters very quickly." Diditos said while leaving the door.

      "Hurry" Alexander said.

      • Pitboss Rome:
The Piercian defenders flead and abandoned the city, several where caught and killed by Roman forces nonetheless.
I'm glad to see that the Romans and the Piercians are now fighting each other.

        • Another messenger arrived at Alexander's place.

"Sir, I bring you a message from the Piercians:"

We are terribly sorry, We hadn't seen this message.

There is no need to trade two ressources for one. It's just that We don't have that much gems. How about silk or sugar ? We may trade theese ressources as soon as the plantages are built.
"They are 'terribly sorry' they say. But there's nothing in their message that shows how sorry they are.
They are still not willing to trade their gems.

Do they not understand that this is not a matter of equal trade any more? Do they not understand that after all these insults all I need to see is a sign of respect?

What do I buy from 'silk' or 'sugar'? I don't even know what it is. The future may let the Piercians bring it to us.... haha. I don't care about the future. I care about right now.

Apparently these Percians want to keep us busy for a while. They try to play with us as if we are their baby toys. They are not interested in an equal relationship.

Ignore this message. I've just heard about the progressions in Argos."

"The floaters, are they almost ready?" the messenger asked.
"Yes, and my armies are ready to board them".

"There's something more" the messenger said.
"This Piercian messenger also carried some letter from an unknown nation, the Romans, with him..."

          To: Alexander of Sparta
From: General Aelius, Dictator of Rome

I the Dictator of Rome, representative of the Roman Republic send you this message. We have not yet met your people, yet the Piercians have agreed to allow send this message to you without tampering with it.

Let us assure you that the Piercians are only fulfilling their obligations towards us by participating in this war, you're words would be considered insults to Rome if it was not for your ignorance about the north.

The Piercians are honorable people and keep their word in matters of trade and war, I am certian you can make a good deal with them. If you should not do so and pursue war with them and by so doing pushing them out of our current war with Portugal I shall be most... *agitated* and our first contact will be markedly unpleasant.

Rome is fighting this war with Portugal over a conflict fought a millennium ago, we Romans have long memories and will remember the name Alexander and what it stood for when we hear of Sparta in the centuries to come. It is off course your choice of whether this will be ill or good...

PS You say your words are backed by copper weapons. We prefer Iron.

-Magister Populi, Praetor Maximus and Magister Peditum Aelius
"Romans? I don't know anything about Romans. Maybe the Piercians have made up these Romans.

What does he expect me to do? I am not going to talk about this with a nation that may or may not exist in the far distance. Ignore this as well" Alexander replied.

"What's that 'iron' they are talking about sir' the messenger asked.

"Iron, haha, Iron is some form of copper. Go to Thebes and Knossos. There you will find three mines being build. In those mines we will find iron very soon. Go and see it yourself, it's very powerful.

It'll let us build a new form of Phalanxs. Together with our already existing Phalanxs our army will soon be unbeatable."

"Sir, do you not fear other armies?" the Messenger asked.

"No, I do not. spies have told me that the Spartan production capacity is the 2nd biggest in the world. Soon it'll expand even more when the iron mines near Thebes and Knossos are finished and the plain-hill mines near Argos. Also do our spies report that our army is the 3rd biggest in the world. Our army is as big as the Korean and Mayan army combined. And since we have made deals with these nations we do not even have to protect our borders with them.

All soldiers can be sent to the north to meet these arrogant Piercians in combat."

"Why would we fight these Piercians at the other side of the sea, sir?" the messenger asked.

"Because we are Sparta and we should be handled with respect. If these Piercians aren't willing to show us respect we will teach them respect.

If the world sees that the Piercians can treat us in an insulting way, soon everybody will insult us and ignore us. That's why. Now go." Alexander said.

          • To: Alexander of Sparta
From: General Aelius, Dictator of Rome

I have yet to received any response from your side. Rome now publicly pledges 6 Preatorian divisions to be given to Piercia in the city of meeting in case of Greek attack. This is the leasst we can do for our allies.

We can spare them since our army is among the greatest in the world. Our war against Portugal will be easily won and then we shall set our sights on any enemies our friends may have.

Rome uses no chariots, and we produce the most goods in the entire world. Also Rome has superior generals (+50% emergence of that GP type ).

Rome is willing to provide Piercia silver and gold so they may spare the gems you need and is willing to meet a Spartan scout on the edge of Piercian territory so direct contact may be made if your people ignore the lies of the Gauls (who we know are behind your sudden change of relations with Piercia). If they don't have any gems, we will directly provide you with silver and gold.

If you refuse our generous proposal you shall show the world your true intentions and motivations in this war. You will show that you lust for conquest and that you have made an unholy secret alliance with our northern foes.

            • Alexander was just taking a bath when another messenger knocked on his door.
"Please enter" he said while smiling.

"I have a message from a tribe that's been called 'the romans' by the Piercians. I got this message by the Piercians." the messenger said.

"Please read it out loud, I can't touch papyrus while I'm taking a bath" Alexander said.

"Pretorians..... I'm actually really curious about that!" Alexander said first.
"Maybe we should go to war against these so called romans if not only to learn what these Pretorians are."

"They sound pretty confident" the messenger said.

"Yes, they do. It's like I'm reading messages I wrote myself" Alexander smiled.
Apparently the Percians are some kind of puppets of these so called Romans. We are negotiating with Rome now, not with Piercians.
Another sign to me that those Piercians are worthless people." Alexander smiled.

"You were right sir, these Piercians are walkovers."

"But these Romans know how to show respect. Tell them that we will accept their gold or gems as a sign of friendship. Also ask them how we can show them our respect and friendship in return. Also go to Argos. Tell them to continue building the floaters and build up our army." Alexander said.

"Will we attack the Piercians, even after we got this gold or gems?" the messenger asked.

"No, we won't. If respect has been paid, we will pay it back through honour and honesty. Tell the Piercians that I will hold back my armies from the moment that we have received the gems or the gold." Alexander said.

"Then why do we continue to build an army?" the messenger curiously asked.

"Because there'll always be a need for an army. What if these so called Romans send us gold or gems first, only to be followed by these Pretorians later?"

"Well, that'll be an excellent change to see how our Phalanxs stand up against these mythical pretorians." The messenger said.

"Ha ha, that's true." Alexander smiled.

"What about those Gauls?" the messenger asked.

"I don't know what Gauls are. We learn a lot about new nations in one day. Romans, Gauls.... maybe they only exist in the minds of those Piercians. But as long as the gold or the gems are real I will not complain." Alexander said.

From: General Aelius, Dictator of Rome

We have made an offer to Greece they are likely to accept. We should focus on completing the road between Rome and meeting since our trade routes have been cut by barbarians.

Our second silver mine will be completed in a few turns, but we could use help with completing our gold mines on the Nile, if you could lend us 2 workers for the effort, the settlement should be able to export gold in less than 10 turns.

Also please suggest the best place for our representatives to meet with the Spartans, we wish to make direct contact as soon as possible.

The above would be helpful for the export of luxuries to you and the Greeks.

                • Alexander looked at the map that was created today with all the new info about possible existing tribes in the world.

                  "Is this accurate?" Alexander asked.

"No, it's not. We've made it as accurate as possible and used all information we got so far." Emenda, his advisor answered.

"But the locations of Korea, Maya, Oldonia and Piercia are correct?"

"Yes, if the information we got from the Oldonians is correct then also the location of the so called Wyandots is correct." Emenda said.

"What about the 'Gauls' and the 'Romans'?"

"We have no idea about these tribes, sir. We just have placed them on the map based on what the Piercians told us."

Alexander considered this for a few seconds.
"The information about these Romans and Gauls may very well be wrong" he concluded.

                  Emenda nodded.

"Very well, our eastern border is protected. We do also have nothing to fear from the Oldonians." Alexander continued.

"How can you be so sure about that?" Emenda wondered.

"I have my reasons for that." Alexander smiled and continued: "Just make sure that our floaters are ready in time to protect any invasion from the sea. Also make sure that our army is ready to cross the sea if needed."

"Do we continue to bring most of our army to the north?" Emenda asked.

"Yes" Alexander replied. "Continue to do that. If enemies will come to us, they'll invade us from the north. We need floaters and soldiers to protect us." Alexander concluded.

                  • Aeilus was once again ready to inspect his troops, weeding out the traitors in Rome had taken a long time and will continue in the future, organizing the slaves and drafting many Roman citizens into the Legions was also taxing work, but he knew there was no time to rest. He must make an appearance to and make a speech for the new 2nd army stationed on the hill North of Rome to raise their morale.

                    • The Clergy at Vrata:

News have come that the Romans have slaughtered the families which remained at Outpost. No one was left alive. Children were raped; the old people stabbed countless times. The Body of Tir was given to the pigs.

They continue marching towards our Holy City, they come to kill and take what is left of our kingdom.

                      A messenger:

Rome has sent us their 8th letter with terms.

                      Clergy:

Should we read it, when they lied every single time when we accepted?

Read it to us messenger we are curious to see what it says. One of the clergy said does it matter, they will still keep on advancing and lie as they did till now.

Indeed Rome has lied and lied over, not honoring anything they have offered so far. What does it matter if we accept or not they have made their mind.

Brothers we are soon to be no more, embrace yourselves.

                      • The Portuguese citizens of Petovio are in revolt, but those who do not resist will remain alive and well as Roman citizens. It is nothing but propaganda that we have razed the city.

Killing taxpayers is not a good way to rule.

Killing traitors is. Excuse me this reminds me of some business I have on the forum of Rome.

Before I go to deal with businesses of state am I to understand you refuse Our terms? Very well our next letter will be less generous. Also we do not lie when we offer mercy during war, we have acheived our objectives there is nothing left to fight for... or are you saying there is?

Again Lies Lies and Lies, my diplomatic letter says differently that the peace deal is reasonable.

Now you come forward and say I have declined only to further your original plans and finish what you have started. The usual Roman game I see.

I haven't said no to your offer, but we are worried that you will decline as usual.

Murderer of Kings, I say I like that title. I will order the senate to approve it in next week's session.

Was it assassination? If so my bounty of 15 gold on the mans head must have payed off.... also we demand Portugal make public the name of the man who released him in the first place, none of the traitors that where "interrogated" in Rome admitted to this.
