  • whilst i do agree with some of that pinchak no need to resort to name calling.

so based on all the above seems i was pretty right in what i said, the big civ always wins the wars...

Little civs being given units or techs from others to hel p win war is just the same as multiple civs attacking one.

I will gladly await a post of how the smallest civ in a game attackes the largest civ and wins by stratgey.

Maybe if someone know how to d othis they can psot it here so the small civs can enact it and attack the leading civs here.

Lets see Japan told how to wipe out Portugul or Korea strangle Rome.

Jsut theoretical but i doubt any stratgey would get them to win a war.

That is military stratgey i am tlaking of

Maybe a diplomatic strategy might work. But this issue has been about military strategy not the diplomatic stuffnor combinsations of both, simple MILITARY stratgey

This is thing slike do i attack across river or not is tactics not stratgey.

    • With good use of woodman, guerilla and retreat promotions, you can often use a single unit to take out dozens without them being able to strike back.

I once had a SP game where two macemen and a pikeman promoted with woodsman III were able to kill 3 incoming armies (ok, it was a 10 tiles wide jungle, but still).

Propser use of siege weapons on the open field and healing units on the drawback-points is more important than raw numbers.

      • oh so one sieg weopon enough, no it is multiple seig weopons you need, and many defenders to protect them from attach whilst moving through enemy territory.

It still is a numbers game.

But right now not everyone has seige weopons. The larger civs only do maybe. So again we saying the small civ cant win fights as they dont have the techs.

Please tell us all right now how a SMALL civ can BEAT a LARGE CIV.

This will mean behind on Tech tree and production rate and army size.

If it is possible with stratgey i want to know. I fit simply a matter of getting ahead tech wise and production wise then lets admit it and chase that road.

But if a bottom civ can beat the BIGGEST CIv HUMAN TO HUMAN lets organsie it.

LEts make this game more interesting for Portugul who keeps asking for a war to liven it up.

No one dares attack them, they are too powerful. And not only that the player that controls them is very skilled.

            I don't think I could win a second war.

              France vs. Incaland HOTW12

Though actually the Incas started it since they thought they could settle on French land and would have nothing to fear from such a puny civ (Incas where the top civ, France was in the bottom third and had only recently climbed from last place).

I got about 8 units military from foreign power, I trade workers for 3 of them so the free aid was basically 5 units, negligible.

My neighbors prevented the aggressor from traveling through their land, so the war was fought in the new world.

              • I would fight them but they are too far and they have done nothing to merit a war. Maybe if they showed disrespect towards me then, I will fight them and relentlessly burn nearly every city with a wonder and I wouldn’t be as nice as Rome.

                • Portugal made two 'uneven' deals with Japan:
                  2 used (27-09-2008 12:35) (2 for 1)
                  3 used (08-10-2008 18:23) (3 for 2)

I want to make clear that it's not against the rules, but Japan: don't let yourself be exploited that easily! I'm sure there are civs that are willing to trade those techs to you for fair terms!

japan is a behind civ and so is celt. khmer consider gifting tech and giving two tech for only one voucher but now it need compete with portugal.

can nation at hastings discuss quick please as khmer wish generosity but must not fall behind far lands.

it important for behind nation to take care in negotiates.

it just what ganesh say but thoughts please.
stop palying the game to see who is biggest in game...

if portugul exploits a small civ then he might get a larger score in game, but out of game score he will lose votes.

                    dont rip off the weak.

and dont do the same as others.

No worries, I have changed my mindset in this game. I am tired of being in the bottom and getting more techs is only a temp solution. I will be making one more trade then after that i will be focusing more on my people and less on trying to get the upperhand in a tech reace that Japan was never built to win.

                      • Just so everyone is clear on this. Portugal has not taken advantage of me. The techs I have traded with them I did look else where but it would have cost me even more vouchers. Portugal has been nothing but fair to Japan in all our dealings and to say otherwise would be a compleat lie.

                        • 1 tech is worth 1 voucher. it's as simple as that. Maybe you wanted a tech that nobody else has yet, in that case you'd better wait a bit then pay such a high price for it. But it's up to you.

                          • You are right it is up to me and what I do or do not do doesn't concern anyone else other them me and the other person involved. Now if you can provide a better deal then please let me know what civ you are so I can trade with you. Otherwise I suggest we drop this here and now. Sorry if I sound like an a$$ but I have never been known for sugar coating my words.

Lets name names , start a shame file.

Apaprently other advanced nations were demanding more in payments than portugul so some are much much worse.
