  • And @Piercia; is there any way you could convert that image into DDS format, I can't seem to figure out how to do it and I am ashamed to admit I am using a DDS converter!

    Sorry.

      • Thanks so much man, its the small touches that make it great. I looked into it and it has to be in dds format for some reason.

        • From what I can recall offhand, I believe Constantine was the first to allow Christianity to exist, it was a successor who institutionalized it. So perhaps freedom of religion would be better for his favorite civic. I like his traits though.

Maybe Spiritual and Imperialist for Abu Bakr.

          Akbar looks good.

I'm not sure about Amenhotep III. I can't find much about his rule. Wikipedia seems to mostly discuss his family and how his reign was peaceful and uneventful. Ramses of course is also industrious if you wanted to mix it up.

          Ivan looks ok to me.

          Reagan is good.

          • I think Cleopatra or Ehnaton would be better for Egypt, the current rulers are all run of the mill Pharaohs. We should have at least one Hellenic ruler.

              • Amenhotep III has the most statues and monuments built to him of any other Pharaoh, and had the most positive press written about him by the ancient Egyptians. So I put the two together/divided them (?) into Industrious and Charismatic.

@Heraclitus: Cleopatra was a terrible leader who managed to strengthen Rome's stranglehold over Egypt and eventually influence what became Imperial Rome and its total control over Egypt. I assume by Ehnaton you mean Akhenhaten (there are many ways to spell it), who wasn't a good Pharaoh either and was generally disliked because he tried to start a monotheistic cult of his own that worshipped him as the one true God. He was hated. If I WAS to add a Hellenic Egyptian leader I don't think there is any doubt that it would be none other than Ptolemy Soter. But right now I don't know if I am going to add any new leaders, although I might. There are two ways of putting Ptolemy in; make him in Hellenic attire or Pharoanic attire. The Egyptian look would be better but the LH they have for him is horrible, I could use a Greek looking one but it wouldn't be too special. I don't know, there's a chance I could do that because we were talking about adding Marcus Aurelius to Rome and adding a third Japanese leader but right now, and as I've said before, I don't plan on adding any more leaders until I fix the Religious Influence bug.

@Ozzy; I didn't want to give Constantine Free Religion, which I considered actually, because he still made them pay taxes to the Roman priests/for the Roman rituals. So I felt that really wasn't Free Religion it was just something Rome was accustomed to doing (allowing other religions to exist within their lands). I think actually a better one would be Hereditary Rule because he was one of the Emperors who engaged in that practice (not all did). Speaking of which, why exactly is Augustus' favorite Civic Representation?

@Piercia; thanks for trying man, I'll just have to try and figure it out when I get home. You've done a great job though and I can't wait to get your image back there!

So basically all I have to do is fix the Religious Influence bug (it doesn't show in the Religious Advisor Screen) and then I think we're good to go. Unless you guys want another round of leaders, I could add Marcus Aurelius, Ptolemy Soter (so we get a Hellenic ruler of Egypt), a third Japanese guy and then ?, I like to work in groups of four so if you can figure someone else out that'd be cool. Maybe like a third Celt, or Mali, or Persian. I dunno, I've got plenty of time to release this baby so let me know what you guys want.

                • Definitely no more Celts or Mali. I think two is more than sufficient for them. Persia maybe. Ottomans maybe. I'm a big fan of Chandragupta in India of course, heh. Byzantium, Greece, Spain or Ethiopia maybe. But no need to go overboard. I like including Marcus Aurelius and another Japanese guy, beyond that... I dunno.

                  • I think we should include Mussolini, Franco, Hitler and Petain. I'd love to see a game with those and Stalin .

Well, if you put mussolini in, you'd have to put him in for Rome, and that would actually be something he would have liked... Twisted ?

Anyway... i think there are not enough true badguys in there. There is no one for Churchill to swear at !

Robespierre could be a nice French badguy too.

Or how about adding a pope leader for Rome ? I don't know them well enough to know which one was really important, but still... could be interresting.

Che Guevara could be a nice leader too, but for which civ ?

Well well... theese are my politically incorrect 2 cents

                    • Well remember Piercia, I am going to make Modules for this game too after its released. I was thinking of releasing it with a couple of Modules in case you want to play with other civs. So Italy will certainly be one of them and they will have Mussolini, Lorenzo d'Medici, and Vittorio Emanuelle (or maybe Garibaldi instead).

I was also considering adding Khomeni and Ahmedinejad to Persia but I think that's a little off-kilter.

A Cuban civ is also very easy to do because there is already a module for that and Che would go there.

Robespierre is a good idea though...

                      • Yay! I got the opening screen to work, and it looks really nice. So that's finally done, the only thing really left to do is make sure the religion influences show up now, and I haven't really got anywhere on that but hopefully I'll figure it out soon enough.

As for adding new leaders; I think I am actually going to refrain from adding any of the new leaders we have been discussing. I am not going to make this the last edition of the Diplogame mod, if anything it is only the first edition (because I am also learning how to do all of this stuff). But once I get this thing going and we get a game up using it I'll start working on the next one which will be the European Diplogame Mod. That should be quite an undertaking and there will be plenty of room for debate over leaders, civs, and religions in that one.

But yeah, I'm going to put a cap on any new leaders for now, at least until I get this whole religious influence thing taken care of.

I'll put up a screen shot of the title, although you all already know what it looks like. And in the corner where it says "Varietas Delectat," that will be changed to "Diplomacy Mod" or "Diplogame Mod" when it is finalized and polished.

The European sub-mod sounds like a nice idea, and you're right with finishing this edition before getting addiotional, not absolutely necessary, additions.

Can't for the next Diplogame to start with that Mod.

                            • No its not a European sub-mod, its going to be a completely different mod altogether. With only European countries and a map of Europe. I was thinking of donig some small scenarios for it too but I may ditch that idea.

Anyway Chuggi over at CivFanatics made a pretty cool looking graphics upgrade that I could use in the new mod, it also includes some changes to some of the leaderheads. Here's a link RIGHT HERE, so you can check it out yourself and let me know what you think. I'm not at home right now but if you guys like it I might think of putting it in. Well I also have to learn how to use PakBuild properly so the mod loads quicker, as of now it takes like three minutes to load up, which is a long time. So that would probably delay it a few days though because I'm busy for a lot of tonight and tomorrow night.

Although I still haven't figured out this whole Religious Influence mess just yet, so it's getting delayed anyway.
