    I regret to say im not going to play tonight.

    I don't even have the patch yet. I know others cannot/won't make it tonight either.

    This really had to be schedualed more an advance... not the day before.

        Wait what are a you talking about, the patching takes like 5 min. Its an Event file only!

        And if you rember this was scheduled in advanced.

          Well no prob, I've been talking to Nols she says she can play if we need her.

          But unless you come up with a better excue Pincak I expect to see you there.

                  didnt even know you were planning a start up session.

                  I dont have any free slots in my time to dedicate to a MP game which is why i chose to join the Diplo Pitboss ones. I figured i could log on at any time of the day i find a few minutes to spare and play my turn.

                  obviously i was wrong about this.

                  I am happy to continue playing my civ even if an AI started with it, i can make a stroy to fit.

                  Just let me know when the pitboss version is running and how i join.

                  if my civ is ravished when i join i will leave and the AI can have fun.

                    ok i downlaoded the event file or whater "final frontier" i extracted the compressed file it now sitting on my desktop, how do i now install this mod or event file or whatever it is.

                      Its no problem Ras, we didn't play yesterday, also unless we don't make arrangments for same time next week or this sunday morning before HOTW12 there will be no start up session. Which may not even be a bad thing.

                        Apologies to Pinchak and Vapgelus, I had to leave quite suddenly due to real life suddenly intervening yesterday.

                        Having not read the thread since yesterday, I think there where several problems with the way I organized the session:

                        1. I didn’t put time in EST I assumed that everyone knew their time relative to UTC, I was wrong. I can see why using some time converters can be confusing with summer times and all that.

                        2. Pinchak also made the fair criticism of the session not being advertised for long enough.



                        I think that I have proven myself an inefficient organizer in the cultural-political environment present as such I do step down from the position, and would encourage everyone who has an interest to play this game to please contribute to organization in a democratic and involved manner.

                        Note: Basically I’m just to swamped by real life to organize this, so I’m stepping from any organization duty I may have assumed and leaving it up to the players.

                            Heh ok I have a job interview on Tuesday so I doubt anytime before then I would be able to do a start up session. How about next weekend does that work for anyone?

                              there will be no start up session. Which may not even be a bad thing.
                              Frankly, I liked the idea of doing this MOD in pitboss slow motion from the start. In all reality I have only played the MOD once, and that was only for a few hours.

                              So in short, the idea of learning the game one turn/day at a time is appleaing to me. As we all know, the first 50 -100 turns are the most important.

                              I am reluctant to say so, but I do have a spare computer. The thing is... I don't know how to network it to my main computer so it can piggyback off the internet connection. My understanding is that Windows Pro makes this easy, but alas I have the home version.

                              If someone could walk me through it, I MAY be willing to host this game on that rig. Keep in mind however that since moving I have about 10 other small projects that take precidence, so even with assistance it may be a week or two until I would even be willing to attempt.

                                What type of connection do you use ? If you are using a router-modem, it's quite easy.

                                - Get / buy an ethernet hub.
                                - Plug both computers and the router on the hub.
                                - Set your router-modem on something like "multiple user mode".
                                - Done.

                                Home or Pro edition doesn't change anything for this one. If you are using something else, i'm afraid i can't help you

                                Edit : btw, i don't know if you get a seperate IP for each PC with this method.
