  • You'll have to excuse me, I don't want to play in any pitboss games, they suck and there's too much b*ll**** to deal with, at least in the one I am in right now.

I don't think Diplogames and Pitboss are going to mix, its probably the players involved, but there is so much stupidity going on in Beyond the Pit I'm getting demoralized from even trying another pitboss game. When I asked you to play it was before I started playing Beyond the Pit and before I realized how much I don't like pitboss.

I really want to start up a scheduled weekly game again, like we used to. I know they are hard to schedule but they're a lot more fun than Pitboss IMO.

But I do like to play civ, how many people do we have for this? What's the timer like? Etc.

    • You know what, let me know who is playing in this/how many people are in it and I'll probably play. Beyond the Pit is becoming the most annoying thing possible, I just realized the people are annoying me, the spam in the threads are annoying me (its basically the same issue) the arguments and the people who have no idea what a diplogame is are just too much to deal with. I don't like playing two games at once though. I'm seriously on the verge of dropping from BtP, I've nearly had enough of that crap.

      • Yeah, I reckon if we can get the core group together (Trev, Heraclitus, Deity, you, me, Cyber and Ozzy) then Pitboss could well be as fun-if not moreso-than our regular games (less time lost due to scheduling issues).

You can count me in as long as the group are dependable people who understand diplogame "mechanics".

          Thankyuo thankyou

Now as to pitboss and Diplo, no they dont mix. to long between turns to allow for good negotiations, you rely on someone not only playing their turn but also reading the threads. most do not.

so with little in game occuring and even less story threasds and negotiations it will always lead to more useless posts by those that like to read the threads whislt at work.

I wanted to get antoher pitboss game going to fill in the time from first one. a few minutes a day playing and then heaps of time to read posts at work sounds good.

if this one gets off the ground, as soemone posted earlier. make sure everyone understands the DIPLO style. it not jsut another MP Civ game.

War si fine but make lots of posts about it.....

          • Raz, don't bring that in here too! There's a difference between writing something that people don't like, and arguing with your boyfriend about who is going to conquer who. I would be down for another diplogame in pitboss, is it necessary to make it anonymous though? I feel as if though the extra work is useless, and if we put a good group together we don't need the anonymous thing going on.

I sure that if there would be room for you and Aussie Lurker. As you can see there are mostly veteran diplo players in this game.

              1. Heraclitus (confirmed)
              2. OzzyKP
              3. Vampgelus
              4. deity

              Also Infinite diplomacy isn't anonymous.

So have you changed your mind Capo?

              • I am not trying to deliver an ultimatum at all here, I just want to make sure we are clear on any rules and the timer situation BEFORE we start. That's all. And some clarification on what you meant by "Also Infinite diplomacy isn't anonymous."

Finally; can we call it History of the World XIII?

Check out the first post of the thread, you'll see why infinite diplomacy is more approproate than History of the *world* XIII. You will also see the agreed upon rules.

Timer will be 20 or so, 1 turn per day. Maybe shorter for the first X turns.

I'm not against having a normal sessions as long as it is during 7-14 GMT during the week. But I don't want to carry the load of figuring out when everyone can play.

                  • Oh! I get it. Eh, I don't want to play a sci-fi style game, I dont' have a problem with it but it isn't really my bag. So I'll bow out and see how this goes, maybe after one game gets finished I'll get a grasp of what to do.

Although it may pose as a challenge for me, so it does sort of have a draw in that regard. Can I get back to you on this?

I would probably have to play the scenario a few times before I got the hang of it too, so if you guys wanted to start early don't worry about me.
