Epic of Man was used for the very first two diplogames in Civ4. Both games never made it very far and collapsed due to various problems *coughpasswordscough* then we ditched the name and went back to History of the World and had some absolutely amazing games.

I'm open to normal. But remember, we never play the game till the absolute end of 2050. Generally our games end in the 1700's or so. Maybe the tech trade rules will extend that, but I still think you can shave about 150 turns off the max for any speed.

BTW, when are we going to get this started? What else needs to be done to get this started?

I dont' get too much time during the week to work on the map, and I moved recently.

This weekend I am dedicating Saturday to finish unpacking from the move. Sunday is going to be dedicated to the map.

If I don't get it completely finished by Monday then I imagine the latest would be Tuesday.

Are you making a map from scrathc? Wouldn't it be easier to generate a few 3 continent maps and pick the one you like the most and modify it extensivley?

I'll be on vacation next week (starting friday 16th till friday 23th)
I'll be checking poly and I assume that I can play as well. (cell phone connection)

Pinchak: be aware that we get at least 1 extra civ, and maybe a change, if Toni changes his civ.

Toni, pls let us know if you wanna change it or not. (you can actually change it right now or pick the same civ)

After Toni has told me I'll publish the new list here, including Beta's civ and Toni's new civ. (that way it'll still be a tad bit anonymous, and since I have no clue what civs are in right now, it'll be totally anonymous for me)

I can't agree with normal speed or with classic start. This game is meant to be HUGE, and seriously, removing 150 or 200 days won't change that much, it would only shorten the early eras.

Regarding who hosts the pitboss server, if I host it, the main advantage is that I run a mail server on that same server, so that we can use e-mail notification. (which would be impossible b/c of relay denial if it's on another server)

I'll be on vacation May 24 - May 31. If this game is starting during that time, am I at the mercy of the AI to play smart for a few turns?
