    A player does not need to be the turn ending player to capitalize on a double move.
    Understood, but it does help. More so then just telling people to be honorable.

    The reality of it is that there IS no fool proof solution unless you play with a turn order (omg talk about a long game).

    If anyone has a better idea I am all ears, but I do think we will be regretting it if we choose to just go on the honor system.

      I'm not suggesting we have no rule. I said "that alone..." I also understand that there is no perfect answer.

      Most PitBoss games are played with a rule prohibiting the double move during wartime with a provision that the attacking player can attack with the second move after X hours if the defending player does not take his turn. The premise behind the X hours is that the player should not need to wait "forever" and design his real life activities around the game. X is usually close to 1/2 the timer setting.

        8 hours or 12 hours, or what ever - Yes, I too believe that we need a set time in place before this puppy is launched.

        Although I've never found myself in a wartime double-move situation...there is always a first.

          Well thanks for explaining that. I will have to drasticly modify my rule suggestion now.

          Anyway, the reason I suggest 8 hours instead of 12 is that 12 effectively halfs the window in which the "turn ender" can make a move.

          If you think about an adverage persons day, it is divided into three 8 hour parts. Work, sleep, play. The longer you make the window, the more of a chance they are not going to be able to login and play their second turn.

          Hense, 8 hour rule.

                  I Pinchak... I would use a whip, but I have only been furnished with a wet trout. Get to work... let the rest of us waste away time making up arbitary rules for no reason. It's not your job.

                    It's raining so I started up my laptop

                    Since I'm the one hosting the pitboss, the game can't start untill I'm home next weekend.

                    That means.... another week of glorious rule debates

                      I like the 8 hour timetable, but I think it should extend to anyone declaring war and during the war.

                        This is sad news indeed. I thought you said you could play if we started it up as soon as the map was finished. I will be leaving town Saturday morning and not returning until the end of the month. Should I resign now and allow someone else to take my spot so as not to hold up the game?

                          Well, the end of the month is only two weeks away ... do you REALLY think that this game will be actually launched before that time?!?
