On more important things, just so we are clear, people who haven't done tests and people who have had troubles on tests should be there 1 hour early. People are encouraged to make it at least 20 min before game time, with 10 min before game time being minimum (this gives us time for one maybe two tries at a start).

I'm not using my diplo messenger account because of adsl issues. I think Mongolia said they had some similar issue and suggest you close it too.

Good news, i can host IP direct which means my settings are now back to normal - some sort of adsl router corruption.

Bad news, I just heard distant thunder... but it doesn't look too meanacing...

Well, it was an ok session. 40 turns isn’t that bad, it means, on average each turn took 5 min. This can be mostly attributed to the numerous times when we got that delightful waiting for Carpathia to reconnect or waiting for America to reconnect message on the screen. America if I understand right has some issues with their machine, which make them crash, what are they and is there any hope of fixing this by next week? Carpathia if I remember right had some glitches from a program running in the background, please don’t on next weeks session. Though I will say it was felicitous how the last time they droped they droped at the same time.



I’m sick and still have a fervor, I couldn’t concentrate properly. I realy do want to apologise to all you guys. I took too long with a few early turns, but to be honest I had as many long turns as I had long waits.

People at one point started assuming it was me holding up the turn when it was not.

It is precisely this reason why I think people should be active diplomatically during the week; I for example won’t waste time negotiating with Carpathia once the session starts. Also perhaps we should have a longer first or second turn, to queue up stuff in our cities and resolve last minute diplo. It might make the game run a bit more smoothly. I swear I something like 20 or so build ques expired on me during this session, this is especially annoying if you are ripped from the city screen and thrown into the vote screen. Another reason for the long turns, was probably the fact that everyone was practically at war, since many of us have suffered from this pirate plague. Its almost tempting to avoid wars just to get good turn progression.


I don’t remember who the host was, I think it was the Incas. There seem to be some troubles with the other one. Does anyone else in this group have a good machine and a ok connection? (a reserve or a last resort host would be nice)

Hey guys great session yesterday

I want to apologies for slowing the game in the start with my drop - but I am at a new place now - so some twicking is needed.

I will try my very best for this not to happen again! Well once i figured the problem it was a smooth sailing for me.

Thanks all for being here, yes America and Carpathia may have dropped a couple of times - but if they keep on coming back as they did yesterday the game progresses and I am very happy with that.

When I checked my processes, there were some unknown ones using alot of memory.

Reality of it is I need to format this comp. Finding the time is another story.
