Carpathia got eliminated. They had been AI for a number of sessions and their original player didn't want to play anymore, so we agreed to just divide them up. So Russia, Mali, and I all took a piece. Ottomans took most of Germany too.

So I think the Ottomans just need to finish the job and take that last German city.

carpathia is still in the game... their cities have not been divided up as far as I can tell. same with germany. if so, then we're dealing with another save.

It is a bit confusing, since the name of the Carpathian player is diplo_ottoman, but that civ with 0 score is Carpathia.

doh. I mistook Mali's colour for carpathia on the map. never looked that close

silly me. correct, carpathia is out and Bismarck has 1 city in the frozen wastes.

I dont know how many turns you guys have played so far... hope not too many. I would love to join but cant untill the new place is ready to move in... that should be by the end of the month.

Perhaps a sub untill then? Or if you already got a player maybe I could play antother civ then or just be a reserve sub (Mali or Ottomans would be fun)


If this game is restarting we should dig up the old diplo mail adresses since they contain a lot of old diplomacy and are very practical for negotiation. The same goes for the old diplo log ins.

We haven't taken any turns yet. Game is right where we left off, Holland is holding the turn till we get things figured out. There is no turn timer. The civ is absolutely still yours. But I don't think we can wait another month. So you'll need a sub until we can move forward. Perhaps Vamp would be interested again? He did a good job last time.

We have already found players for the Ottomans and Russians. I believe the original Mali player will be back.

I agree, the old diplo mail addresses are worth keeping around. And everyone's diplo MSN accounts too.

We need to discuss settings and such, so if you at least have internet, please help us figure stuff out like moving during war in Pitboss and such. I'm hoping we can have things sorted out by this weekend so we can advance the turn by like Sunday or Monday.

Yes, I have internet acces, but I dont know how much help another opinion is, usually we seem to have an overabundance of those...


I will ask Vamp if he is interested subbing for me, since 14 days is a long time to wait, if no sub is found I would also fully understand if you guys would like to find a new player for France.


It just great to see the game continuing, it was real fun and its been quite a while since the diplo community has had two games running for any extended period of time. Perhaps this is a sign of a revival?


As to the rules, Beyond the Pit seems to be working fine, so lets adopt those as a base, improvements are however always welcomed. As to the transition, esp. since Mongolia and Holland are at war should be done in a narrow time frame. Maybe even Mongolia and Holland could agree to log in at the same time to prevent one gaining an unfair advantage from going first?

I wasn’t under the impression that diplo is need of revival, things seem to be running just fine.

I was able to log in with no problems. I was looking at the map and I don't know if it is just the map I have that is outdated but I saw allot of Carpathian land and no German.

Using the BTP rules would work here too. If we are going to set up a turn timer then we can do what we do on BTP. If we go without a timer we can always Make it so that who ever is the aggressor has to wait until the person they are attacking has played their turn.
