Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
I am sorry I didn't reply to this thread earlier but I did not know it was already up. I would like to confirm that I am willing to participate in HOTW VIII. I am available just about any time except Saturday afternoons. I run CIV IV Warlords tournaments on Saturdays starting at 12:00 PM EST (17:00 GMT) and ending when I pass out.
As for tech trading, I would prefer either no tech trading at all, or full tech trading. If, however, a tech trading scheme can be built in using a mod, I will go along with it. the TORACTT was a joke, which the AI's abused to their hearts content and which some of the players may have abused as well.
I would also suggest that everyone password protect their civs. I realize this creates a problem when a sub is needed, but I think we can find a disinterested third party to hold passwords for us.
I would also love you guys to consider running this HOTW as a pitboss game. That way we could play a few turns a week between sessions, and play as normal on game night. One of the reasons I recommend this is because there is a very nice pitboss tracking site that has an excellent diplomacy system that would fit diplogaming like a glove.
Levi, I've been told that using pitboss factually means another user and thus more change for connection problems.
Not to mention that I think that for diplomacy games it's best to play turns simultanious. It's not about finishing the game as fast as possible but about playing together, communicating, etc.
Why should we have to password protect our civs?
And the obvious question to you, part of diplomacy games is the change of being backstabbed. Read the storythreads, be sure to create good alliances, but don't run away if things don't go very well in the game. Are you willing to continue to play, even if things aren't looking that good civ-wise?
