  • In HOTW7 we started with 13 players, and when u subtract Rome, Celts and the French we get 10 players left. So map size is good!

Also we had some civs very close to each other this game, Viks and Carthage also Egypt, India and China.

I will go with the majority votes of course.

By the way it will be nice to round it to 10 players, Best if we can find Capo (Only 100% reliable players please)

    9 is great too

    • If we go for Pangea and large, the map size will be big enough. I'll learn to live with it that I'll most probably be 4 tiles away from 2 other civs. That's just how things go in HOTW games for me.

Clearly I'm the man of the relationship.

      • No pangea

We could try large map and low water level (more land)

        • Pangea is ok, but if we play it large, low sea level. Terra if we play huge, normal sea level.

So poor me for picking the Germans, looks like CS has some unfinished business from HOTW5 with them.

Also please post your prefered settings!

          • Prefered settings:
Pangea (I never like the new world in diplogames. I'd rather have more space on the old continent)

            - normal barbarians
            - normal settings
            - low sealevel
            - large map
            - all victory settings
            - ballanced (obviously) off
            - no turn timer (obviously)
            - marathon

I'm still hoping that we can start and end the game 1 hour earlier to make it easier for us europeans. If we, europeans, can play till 02:30 then the east-asians myst be able to wake up at 05:00 am

            • I like those settings too

              - Pangea/Terra (1st choice being pangea)
              - normal barbarians
              - normal settings
              - low sealevel
              - large map
              - all victory settings
              - ballanced (obviously) off
              - no turn timer (obviously)
              - marathon

If we start 1hr earlier that means Kbarrett won't be able to make it CS, due to working. The current time slot fits him perfectly he said. Sorry that you have to stay till 2:30am. By the way you will be the only european time player.

Is it possible to start at least 30 minutes earlier, kbarret?

I can't guarantee that I will be there. I get off work at 23:00 GMT. Any traffic snarls and I will not make 23:30 GMT.

                      • Prefered settings:

                        - Terra (terra gives everyone a second chance in the new world. They don't have to be locked into their current land arrangement the whole game like on a Pangea map. Plus discovering and colonizing the new world is just fun and makes for good stories full of parallels to the real world)
                        - normal barbarians
                        - normal settings
                        - normal sea level
                        - large map (too much space makes for a boring game. Scarcity of resources and land is the reason for conflict in the world. Take all that away and we'll just expand and build peacefully all game and it'll be really boring. The more we rub elbows the better.)
                        - all victory settings
                        - balanced off
                        - no turn timer
                        - marathon

Right but we actually start our game 30min later anyway, so i see no problem for kbarrett.

                          • Kbarrett we want you at 7pm est on Fridays for many months when we start. Of course it will be great if you can get in at 6:45pm. The current game usually starts between 6:30-7 pm est, due to waiting for all to show up.

With huge normal sea lvl, we are rubbing elbows too much already if you are asking me. EXAMPLES: Inca vs England, Bulgaria vs China/Egypt, Bulgaria/India, Bulgaria vs Arabia and Inca vs Vikings. Some of us got a bit luckier with their starts and got a bit more land then others i think that was Arabia, Choson and the Celts.

So it will be nice to stick to Huge map normal seas, 100% we will be rubbing elbows again if you ask me.

Or just let add up the players preferences and go with that
