Sorry I am away at work. I will probably be late for the game. If you can wait an hour or so I can play too. -Frank

The game was continued, a game generally of consolidation, Toni and Frank consolidated ther hold on the new world and others mostly consolidated their existing empires in the old world or in deity's case spread himself around a few islands.
Not many wonders were built in this session, but the Statute of Liberty was built by myself, also Notre Dame was built, maybe one other.
The game changed dramatically at the end when I launched an assault on Alex to grab a few more cities, I have a core of good cities, but not really enough of them for the end game. My generals told me that settling a few islands or a few remaining spots in the new world would give me high maintainance, difficult to defend cities. Taking Alex's fantastic cities however gives me easy to defend cities, already economically developed that are contiguous with mine own, a preferred option. Probably a gain of four cities will be ideal, I already have one and the backbone of Alex's army is being broken.
The question is, how will the other players respond to this assault, I am using cossacks, so the cavalry based armies of the other top players will struggle to combat my forces if they choose to intervene. So will they just sit back, will they join in for a city grab of their own, or will they jump to Alex's defence? It will amke for an interesting next session, for all except maybe Alex.

Another new game started with 4 Aussies only, all scores fairly even after 4 hours of play. An island map which in my case has given me flood plains and a good river for my first 2 cities, so I got a number of cottages going early giving me a much higher GDP than the other civs. The only drawback has been lower hammer yield, which means no wonders built yet and the need for a good bit of whipping, particularly in my capital. But some later cities have a potential for more hammers, so hopefully I can work on the lack of wonders soon.
