there's a lot of talk about starting up what will be called HOTW12 with all due likelyhood, sometime in january. unfortunately HOTW11 seems to have dragged out a bit and as such a lot of our core players who would like to be in the next one might not be available until later. we'll have to see how it sorts out.

on a "lighter" note, I suspect that if we get the right amount of people, kick off, then by the time HOTW11 ends, we'll be needing replacements and subs etc, so with some likelyhood people from HOTW11 will be able to squeaze in a bit later. despite the earnest and noble declarations from all that they will stay the course, in every diplogame someone has had to drop off, for reasons more varied than the shape of snowflakes.

How many players are you planing to have in HOTW12, and will it be on a world map or a random terra/continents map?

there is a lot of lack of discussion about exactly that now. in other words, it's something everyone has something to say on, but are currently busy with other stuff. I blame this whole christmas thingy...

anyway, I suspect that the endresult will be something like 10 players, on a terra/continents map, though maybe, maaaaaaybe, it has been suggested, though I suspect it won't go through, we might play on an earth or europe map. but I find that somewhat unlikely, the joy of exploration is... quite joyful.

Hmmm... Organize schmorganize. I'm a bit sceptical to my own abilities i a lot of different ways. Or rather my inherent predisposition towards not using them.

I could if you want me to. On notice though, I was gonna start up HOTW10, but never got around to it, so maybe we'll run this as HOTW10 instead? or should we keep progressing leaving a few holes in the line?

I have a suggestion though. That we start HOTW10 and HOTW12, but here's the important bit, we set HOTW10 as a Epic speed world/europe map, and then HOTW12 as a standard, Marathon speed, random map (continent/terra). That way we can test if Epic is worth a game or not, get HOTW10 played (quickly) and still have energy enough for HOTW12.

We'll start 10 soon in early january and then when you're finished with 11, we'll kickstart 12. By then 10 should be nearing the end anyway and people from there should have little trouble joining 12 as well if they wish to. It will give us a fastpaced game where we can get some rule experimentations done, and introduce some new players to the diplo experience.

Keep in mind, this is only a suggestion, but perhaps a "lighter" version is what we need for newer players. If not, I can just fire up HOTW12 - The Final Hour.
But maybe a lighter newyear epic long diplogame would be a good introduction and companion to our heavyweight, and a nice in-between for those who cant play 2 diplogames at the same time. What do the people say?
