Dragon is in timezone +1 as well.
Besides that, the game of HOTW6 is actually named History of Terra 1 (HOT1)

Great idea, hopefully this will help get things rolling, and games started.

Well that sure is confusing since the threads are all named HOTW6.

Well, I'm new to the forums and am certainly interested in playing. Being new I'm not sure if I should be posting here or in a new thread...

My preferred civilisations tend either to be English, Arabian, or Persian, although to be honest my overall criteria is to find a good game going.

I'm in the UK (GMT) and can play evenings and weekends.

                Hi TELawrence, welcome!
Do you know the diplomacy concept?
We play long games spread over multiple sessions.
                Marathon speed, no turn-timer.
And we do a lot of diplomacy / roleplaying.
Last friday we played the 7th session of a game, in which 6 players were in a war (out of 9).
The peace negotiations took a lot of time.

There's much strategy talk during the weeks, for most among allies of course. And story telling in the story threads. It would be great if we can expand the diplomacy-community! You're most welcome!

Well, I took the time to read the FAQ and introductory material. The diplomacy concept is what attracted me to post here - I just found that I wanted more depth than a 'standard' game offers. So yeah, I'm game.

                    Great!
Unfortunately all games have just started though
Keep an eye open, and we'll surely send you a private message through this forum when we are about to start new games!

Well Cyber, that is what this thread is for exactly. It should help people get games going, find subs, coordinate schedules and all that.

New games will be listed here, available players will be listed here and their time zones. So if Lawrence or anyone else wanted to start up a new game, they just have to come here, see how many diploplayers aren't yet in a game (6) and use that as a basis for starting something new.

So yea, this thread should be a tool to help people find games, and to help games find players.

As usual Ozzy has outdone himself!

This is a great idea, and I think I'm going to throw caution to the wind by suggesting that if the Europe 1092 ad scenario hasn't really got a following yet, we should change it from diplo-light to a normal diplogame.

                        What does everyone think?

I think this move could start a diplogaming trend, I'm not sure that everyone knows who I am talking about, but if you played in HOTW II you know about Chris (he was the Mali). We were planning on creating a "Greek City-State" scenario where each player would rule his own Greek kingdom. I think this is similar; a pre-created diplomatic scenario. It's great for diplogaming and I think this would mark the first in a long line of diplogames.

That's just some food for thought, but I think if we run with this we can see a new trend in diplogaming.

Anyway, the list is great, and I think the time may be right to start co-ordinating a new game.

                        Peace.

I love the idea of doing a full diplo in a scenario. But if the Europe 1092 one went that way (which would be totally cool and I'd love to see it) then I'd have to bow out. I don't have the time or energy to commit to two full diplogames at the same time. HOTW V soaks up all of my posting and scheming and story-telling abilities.

Well, it was just a thought, but I think it holds merit, because we seem to have a good list of people here.

Just off the top of my head I think the Thirty Years War, Feudal Japan, Ancient Greece, and potentially the Napoleonic Wars look like good ideas for Diplogame-Scenarios.

I mean, we have six players who aren't in any games right now, which looks like a good amount of players to me. I am sure we can either find a few more, or have some guys who are in only one game play in a third one. I mean, why waste the players?

Anyone want to start talking about a third game?

I like the 1092 AD scn but not sure when it could be played. The schedule is pretty full!
