I'd be interested though I can't say how consistently I'd be available on the weekends.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

Go read through the thread you just topped.
Basically its an epic MP game that attempts to use real world diplomacy, role playing and story telling.
For an example, check out our current game, History of the World V: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...hreadid=148492
We play every week, we've been at it for 6 weeks now and are up to 350 AD (starting in 4000 BC). We're seeing this bad boy through to the end. Its enthralling.
Ladder games or duels or any other kill everyone games with a 30 second timer that lasts for an hour or two just doesn't measure up any more once you've sunk your teeth into a diplogame. In my opinion this is civ as it was meant to be played. Truly an epic experience with alliances, betrayal, war, diplomacy, and and intricate, involving storyline that lasts 6,000 years.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012

Heck no. PBEM
Its live MP like anything else. It may move slow, but its not one turn every day or two.
Plus since we aren't spending all our time passing saves around and figuring out who is holding things up we are actually playing and conducting real diplomacy. Plus it doesn't take us 3 years to finish a game.
Just check out those two links I posted, you'll get a sense of what it is.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012
