For years we have lived in Russia in peace. We helped building up the Russian empire and we found hapyness in our faith.

Though all troubles started when Nicholas, our beloved Tsar here in Moscow, was murdered and succeeded by his murderer. His murderer claimed that Nicholas had been killed by us, and started to persecute us.
We didn't use any violence eventhough violence was upon us. We listened to your commands, and tried to get not involved into this internal Russian Tsar conflict, but we were pulled rigth into it.

Many children and women have been killed and we are persecuted through all of the country. We cannot leave the country, for we are not allowed. We are with few now, for most of us have been killed.

We know that the murderer-Tsar, who killed Sita, daughter of the people of India and blamed us for it, is spreading lies about our so called voilent actions. Please do not believe these lies.

We never saw this coming. Your uncle almost fall for this, but thanks to the gods, he died, and you succeeded him. Since you were appointed by the gods, I am sure that you will do the right thing.

We cannot allow war between our two nations, and let Russia rule the ruins of Delhi and Robingthon after our young soldiers died on each others swords.

We were discussing the issue of jewish missionairies to Russian and Indian cities. Cities of other countries were not involved. I did indeed send one to Karakorum as well.

Judaism only spread in Karakorum AFTER the english / mongol war, not during or before that war.
Judaism spread in Russia long before the internal troubles occured. The problems started when the murderer Tsar climbed the throne of his respected father Nicholas.

In the main chambers of the royal palace of Cuzco, Huayna Cápac, Sapa Inca of the Incan empire waited for his advisors, while sipping at some chicha and nibbling at some cuye appetizers, accompanied by some quinoa salad. He was irritated, tired of waiting, but most of all, desperate. Things were not looking well for him, as people were already starting to show some discontent at the current state of affairs.

Finally, the four elders came in to the room. Most of these men had served under his father, and had participated not only in the war against the dreaded Mongols, but also the Barbarian campaigns. Many years ago, after the Barbarian incursions into Incan territory, which had even meant the destruction of the western city, these same men had lead the once great Incan army, in alliance with their Russian counterparts, in the eradication of the Barbarian threat. The Mongol wars and the said campaigns against the Barbarians had taken its toll though. The once great Incan army was now but a shadowy ghost of what once was considered a major military power in the continent, and the Incan economy had barely survived. No great endeavors to talk about in any Incan city, and nothing to remember him by. No great works. No great cultural achievements.

The German Succession & American Hostility

Carrying on the tradition started with Bimbisara, Chanakya sits down with Chandragupta for their daily brunch to discuss matters of state. The two men work together closely, and trust each other greatly.

There is much to discuss. Germany approaches a transition period with many different interests vying for power and America is stepping up her aggressive stance towards India & Russia.

After enjoying the cornbread, eggs, & sweet lassi, the King gets right down to business, "So tell me Chanakya, what are your thoughts on the German succession?"

"It is a difficult matter, there are many men seeking the throne and it is not clear which will best serve India's interest. Especially with the situation moving towards war with America, ideally we'd want Germany on our side, or at the very least neutral on the matter. They have a nice sized army that could pose some dangers for us."

"Agreed. Who of the contenders fit that profile? What do your spies tell you?"

"My spies report the following:"

Adolphe is an impatient and lonely creature often seeking isolation and broods constantly, some say over lost love, others say over lost land, yet all know that he is extremely clever and dangerously ruthless. He has some support among the warlords, but they fear he will never sway to their will. His staunchest allies are within the priesthood. It is whispered however that he has secretly converted to hinduism, though in these slanderous times who could know what is rumour and what is truth?

Ulrich is a boastful and fierceful adventurer. He led the expedition west to find the Koinsel island where he settled two cities for his father, returning only for the latters funeral. He has often stated that the world is too small for his explorational talent to handle and if only he had the means he would map all four corners of the earth. He has strong ties to the merchants families and has a magnificent talent for diplomacy.

In addition to Konrads sons there are a number of smaller factions wishing to seize power, yet they lack the financial and/or military backing needed to exert themselves.

Briefly they are:
-The Smithing League, an alliance of metal casters seeking to acquire the resources they need for their trade.

-The Zionist Alliance, a group of fanatical jews wishing to unite all Judaism under one rule, theirs of course.

-The Flea Party, popularily called so since they live in the perifery of German city life and advocate a de-urbanization and settling of new lands.

-The French and Indian Wall, a faction of merchants seeking closer relations with Germany's immediate neighbours.

The King studies the list for a moment, then passes some cornbread to Chanakya as he says, "Well Adolphe sounds good. If he is Hindu then he'll support us in the war. Or perhaps the Zionists, if they seek to unite the Jewish world then they'd attack France and America."

"Mmm, cornbread, nothing wrong with that," says Chanakya before responding to the King's comments. "Well sir, we aren't entirely certain of Adolphe's religions affiliation. It is only a rumor at this point. And I had thought about the Zionists, but there is too much risk it would backfire and they'd support their Jewish brothers in a holy war against us and Russia. I think it is best for us to play it safe and support the French and Indian Wall. They may not support us in any possible war, but its likely they wouldn't oppose us either. I think its the safest course we can chart."

"Alright then, if that is your opinion then let us go for it. What are your plans for helping them to power?"

"As they are a group of merchants they don't need any money to help. What they'd need most is soldiers, however if we make too overt a move it could backfire on us if we fail. So I will use our network of spies to provide them information about their opposition, and assassinate their rivals as needed. We can also help spread propaganda and rumors that will hurt their rivals and help the Indian and French Wall. All will be done in consultation with them of course. Hopefully they will be able to purchase enough mercenaries to support their claim."

"Excellent, and what of the missionary situation with America?"

"They are obstinate sir. We made a simple request to cease missionary activity through our borders and they continue to escalate the tone and threaten war. It seems they were looking for an excuse to attack. Negotiations are doing no good beyond pushing us closer to war so I have stopped responding."

"Most troublesome indeed Chanakya. Well I suggest we wait and see what they do. If they continue to send their missionary north then we will act. If they return him home, then we stand down. I am unsure what to do with the princess however. It was an awkward gestu..."

Just then a courier threw open the door, "Important news! Important news! Russia declares war on America!"

Standing up the King snatches the note from the courier's hand, "That can't be, we had agreed to wait."

It was a very short note, but the King read it over several times, "Blast," he said, "it seems to be beyond our control at this point. Damn that impulsive Ivan. He would run a man through for giving him a cross look. However for all his peculiarities he is our loyal ally. It would have been much better had he been patient enough to see this through, but it is too late for that now. Russia is at war, and now so is India. Chanakya, alert the men and contact your Russian counterpart so we may coordinate our war plan. And of course, set things in motion in Germany. We will need their neutrality now more than ever."

"Right away sir," said Chanakya as he stood, "Oh one more thing. What of the American princess?"

"Well we can't very well let her leave now. Lock her in the guest wing. Ensure she is treated with the utmost civility and respect befitting a noble, attend to her wishes but don't allow her to leave or communicate with her kin until we decide what to do with her."

Manning had pulled it off again. His neck was on the line this time for sure but his tenacity and pragmatism won through.

England, although seen as aggressive in tone, was not seen as a war monger nor as an aggressor - particularly thanks to the diplomatic efforts of Spain and the Inca, the only nations in the world to see the truth of the situation.

Manning had failed to keep his expansion plan a secret for long because of the prying Indian eyes at Madras. But the spread of mis-information about sea faring English axemen may have actually been their undoing.

For Manning, having established Hastings in the East of the first Southern island (terra Oztralis), managed to get his second ship to the west of that island to establish Canterbury. But the Germans, with a new leader, banned the English from their coastline without ANY negotiation whatsoever. They said they claimed the whole island eons ago. With his forces trapped he had no choice but to declare war, purely as a technicality, to allow passage of his ships.

For this a price was paid. For the first time in the known history of this planet humans died in war at the hand of humans - not AIens or barbarians. But these victims were not soldiers. They were not from another land. They were English workers and a workboat!

Manning had to think fast. A German invasion of the island was looming. Massive troop movements could be seen and Hastings was the first target.

Two little nations with similar problems on the verge of all out war! Germany and England shared a common problem – very limited home territory and resources.
