To: Robert LXVII, King of America
CC: Spain, England, Mongolia, Germany, France, Inca, China
From: Chanayka, Foreign Minister to King Bimbisara of India & Emelian Pugachev, Chief Advisor to Tzar Ivan III of Russia

After many tumultuous years of civil war in Russia instigated by Zionist Jewish rebels, it is with much alarm that we note the continued spread of American missionaries propagading the poisonious religion of Judaism through the lands of Russia and India. As a joint security measure on the part of the Indo-Russo Alliance against future uprisings and assassinations, Jewish missionaries are no longer welcome in our lands.

The following demands shall be met by America and all other nations seeking to propagate Judaism:

    - Jewish missionaries shall not opperate in Russian or Indian lands
    - Jewish missionaries shall not travel through Russian or Indian lands
    - Jewish missionaries shall not be transported through Russian or Indian territorial waters

If these terms are not met voluntarily, the following sanctions will be taken:

    - All American units regardless of purpose shall be forcibly expelled from Russian & Indian lands
    - All trade between America & Russia and America & India will cease

    Signed,

    Иван III Васильевич

      Through the Darkness

Long ago, 2000 years roughly, the Teutons were ruled by a great leader of wisdom and clout. His name was Friedhold and desired only to give his great homeland the honor and respect it deserved among the nations of the world. Yet treachery was afoot, in the shadows, many were angry that Friedhold would not use force to take what many considered to be Teutonic lands.

One night Friedholds guards had been lured away from their vigilance by drink and song and in that horrid night a great evil descended upon all the Teutons. Friedhold was slain and his rule supplanted by a band of foul savage warriors. They quickly overturned the good work of Friedhold and forced the people into slavery and servitude. They trained many men in the skill of archery and war. So many that nearly a third of all Teuton males were under arms.

They then betrayed their friendship with their neighbours and sent armies into their lands. It was a disaster such as the world has never seen. Spurred on by mad ideas of great glory and the inferiority of their opponents the leaders of the armies had themselves killed during the first battles. But their soldiers fought on. For decades the Teuton people fought to take the lands they had been told was to be theirs. But in the end they were defeated. Lacking leadership and weaponry to rival their foes they were crushed and a humiliating peace was settled. France established an outpost overlooking Teuton lands to make sure no further aggression could be possible. Instead of expanding the Teuton people were now choked and strangled by their stronger neighbours.

As time passed different leaders replaced eachother all as incompetent as the one before him. Obsessed with war they kept a large portion of the people under arms and ignored vital interests of the people. Agreements were made with other nations representing only the interests of those responsible for engineering it. Foreigners flooded into the cities bringing with them religion that turned the people from their ancient and traditional faiths. The strength of the nationed waned and none could stop the decline. The Teutons, or Teutscher as they now called themselves stagnated and were left in the shadowy corner of the world, alone in the dark.

        A New Hope

In this dark hour of despair the Teutsche people languished. Yet hope had not abandoned these lands. Following a great discovery in the working of metals a young blackschmith named Konrad, rebelled against the everincreasing demands of the military rulers. He rose with his hammer in hand and in a great revolution he crushed the warlords of Teutschland like brittle coal.

He then settled in Berlin and demanded that forges be built in all cities of Teutschland and that the casting of metal should be the basis for the strength of the nation.

Fascinated by the improvements made by the Teutscher the Indian ruler gave great gifts to Konrad and in return was taught the skills of Deutsche metalcasting. No longer were the Deutscher a backward people.

Yet Konrad was not yet done in his work. The Seeland island in the southwest had been marked for settlement by the Teuton people for centuries, yet the mad wars had delayed it. Now was the time to acquire new lands for the crowded people. Yet treachery was afoot. The ruler that Konrad had supplanted had foolishly let the English sail past his lands and they had found Seeland island as well.

Maddened by a great gluttony for land English ships sailed from their lands far away and colonized Seeland island. Enraged Konrad informed the English that they had no right to sail through his lands. It was then that an English ship sailed through Deutsche waters and delivered a declaration of war.

Though Konrad was now old and mellow, this insult shook him to his core. A declaration of war over such a travesty as shipping rights? Deutschland would show them. Strengthened with great resolve he gathered together the remnants of the ancient armies. Knowing that England was powerful he acted swiftly. Archers were sent across the narrow canal and took up positions around the English settlement on the eastern half of the island. France supported the Deutsche cause and declared war upon England. Most nations recognized Seeland to be Deutsche land.

Yet unwilling to crush the English possessions and risk a long bitter war, a peace was agreed, splitting the island between Deutsche and English lands. In this age of seafaring a new island was discovered to the far west and it too was settled. In the time of Konrad Deutschland, or Germany as other nations called it, doubled its lands. Shortly after Konrad died.

          Interesting Times

          The Succession

Following Konrads Death a great upheaval followed, his sons wanted to take power and fought amongst themselves, the warlords of old resurfaced and attempted once more to seize power, even wealthy traders attempted to gain control over the reins of power.

In the end Konrads son Gustaf took power. Gustaf is a good ruler and a shrewd man, but he is frail of health and many suspect that his years in power will be cut short. In the shadows lurk the warlords, eager to retake power and take what they consider theirs. Yet the main contenders are Gustaf's two brothers that are eager to take power, Adolphe and Ulrich.

Adolphe is an impatient and lonely creature often seeking isolation and broods constantly, some say over lost love, others say over lost land, yet all know that he is extremely clever and dangerously ruthless. He has some support among the warlords, but they fear he will never sway to their will. His staunchest allies are within the priesthood. It is whispered however that he has secretly converted to hinduism, though in these slanderous times who could know what is rumour and what is truth?

Ulrich is a boastful and fierceful adventurer. He led the expedition west to find the Koinsel island where he settled two cities for his father, returning only for the latters funeral. He has often stated that the world is too small for his explorational talent to handle and if only he had the means he would map all four corners of the earth. He has strong ties to the merchants families and has a magnificent talent for diplomacy.

In addition to Konrads sons there are a number of smaller factions wishing to seize power, yet they lack the financial and/or military backing needed to exert themselves.

          Briefly they are:
-The Smithing League, an alliance of metal casters seeking to acquire the resources they need for their trade.

-The Zionist Alliance, a group of fanatical jews wishing to unite all Judaism under one rule, theirs of course.

-The Flea Party, popularily called so since they live in the perifery of German city life and advocate a de-urbanization and settling of new lands.

-The French and Indian Wall, a faction of merchants seeking closer relations with Germany's immediate neighbours.

Who will succeed Konrad the Victorious?

TO: King Bimbisama of India and Tsar Ivan III of Russia.
FROM: Personal correspondence of King Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar of Spain, also known as El Cid Campeador.

            SUBJECT: Jewish Missionaries.

It is with great concern that I write you directly. Normally I would pursue such diplomatic avenues through my foreign minister, but this particular letter alarmed me greatly.

I have held audience with the head of the Buddhist religious order, the Guru Santo, and it is his belief that this policy is being brought about by intolerant and ambitious people. The Jewish missionaries themselves have done nothing wrong, they do not spread Zionist diatribe nor do they push people towards violence. The problems you experience, one could say, are due directly to your intolerance towards Judaism rather than Judaism itself.

At the same time, however, I understand that a nation has a right to protect itself, and it seems increasingly clear that the Jewish nations of the south wish to spread their power through violent means, and while I will not admit the belief that the Americans are behind these recent Zionist attacks (we have had two ourselves in Seville and Toledo), I belive I speak for all of the northern powers when I say the conversion of Genghis Khan of Mongolia was quite alarming.

The reason for my letter is as follows; I believe the northern states of Spain, China, Russia, and India should have a summitt to address these issues. The reason I have omitted England and Mongolia from this meeting is the simple fact that they went to war a number of years ago, and I believe the two to be a liability we don't need to have. We should discuss trade, infrastructure, potential technology cooperation, and of course the situation involving these foreign, and primarily Jewish, nations.

            Thank you for your time.

            Signed,

Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar, King of Leon, and King of Spain.

Greetings to Tsar Alexander, most noble tsar of the Russians,

I've read the public message that has been sent by the foreign minister of India.
I am worried about the relations between America, Russia and India.
I do not want to reply in public to you, hoping that the escalation that may occur may be ceased before it is too late.

There are many things that I want to ask you regarding the Zionist rebel incident.
there are many questions regarding the peace and friendship between our nations.
There are many worries I have concerning peace and stability for our people.
The ultimate question though is: Why?

Judaism has been spread through the nations of the world without my active involvement.
I have been spreading it myself only through my own empire. Never have I tried to found judaism in any other city but my own cities.

It was the population of the Indian and Russian cities themselves that chose to follow the One True Faith.
And why are you so angry about that?
Confucianism and Hinduism has been spread among my own cities as well. (both indian religions)
              I do not care less.
I did not provoke India with angry messages.
I did not close my borders.
I did not form alliances with my neighbour countries to stop this.

When Zionist rebels, who were surpressed by the new Russian Tsar, used violence, I told them to stop this.
When Russia asked for help, I gave it without restrictions.

Why do you respond with such an attitude to me, while all I did was doing good?
I urge you to focus on the real problem, the Zionist rebels have left my faith and formed a new religion, called 'christianity'. I do not approve this, and I support you in eliminating this new cult.

Let's join together to battle these evil terrorists! may their bodies burn like candles in the cities of Moscow, Delhi and Robingthon!
May their children be food for the lions in the Collosseums of St Petersburg, Lahore and Washington!

But we, Bismara and Alexander, may our friendship last forever and never be disturbed by incidents like this.
May religion be free in our countries. True to the hinduistic and judasitic spirit!

I will always allow missionairies to walk through my lands. I will not deny them! I won't deny them if they're Judaistic, neither will I deny them if they're hinuistic or confucionistic.

I urge the indians to join us against the religious battles that seem to come from Russia. And I urge Russia to maintain their problems within their borders.

I call upon your wisdom, since war will surely benefit none of us. You may destroy all americans, rape our women and burn our cities to the ground, but when you look up from the ashes of what was once a proud and beautifull country, you will face the barbarians from the north, and you will not be able to counter them, for their are with many and will strike when your forces are tired of battling with the strong and brave Americans.

Who will rejoy when our proud countries are slaughtered?

I call upon your wisdom, Bimbisara,
I call upon your wisddom, Alexander,
For once were were friends, and I have not forgotten that!

It is America who escalates hostility between our people. First by sending missionaries through our lands and now by lying about it. Do you take us for fools, sir? Or do you wish to intentionally provoke us to war? Continue down that path and it just may work.

We have reports from our Russian ally that American missionaries were seen in Novgorod spreading your dangerous faith. If that were not enough, Indian travelers report seeing another party of American missionaries traveling between Bombay and Madras. We have artist renderings based on eyewitness reports. Both of the missionary in question (and the flag he flies) and his location and direction of travel. The evidence is conclusive.

America has no more cities in that direction, obviously your claims are lies. In light of your dishonesty we have much difficulty believing your other claims that America had no connection with the Zionist rebels. It is clear your intention is to establish more communities of Zionists inside of mother Russia. Fermenting more revolution to disrupt our friend.

Let it be shown that it is you who first mention war, not India. We seek merely to protect ourselves and our Russian allies from the incursions of seditious Zionist rebels, and in return we receive lies and talk of war.

Neither India nor Russia will stand for such warmongering. Agree to our demands voluntarily or we will close our borders through force of arms.

Additionally, India believes those who wish to conduct diplomacy of this sort behind closed doors have something to hide. Therefore we are attaching copies of this letter to all the nations of our great continent.

              Signed,

              King Bimbisara

The story of Chanakya - Part 3 - Construction of the Great Library

Many years passed and the kingdom of India prospered. Chanakya began tutoring Chandragupta, preparing him for leadership, preparing him to one day be king. Chanakya had to wait till the time was right however. In the meantime he had to attend to the doddering old King Bimbisara.

Bimbisara was becoming less and less concerned with the affairs of state and spending more and more time in the Delhi library reading. Not only did his obsession with books take away his time as king, but it was also beginning to drain the resources of the kingdom as Bimbisara bought more and more books. Eventually room ran out in the Delhi library and books were stacked high in spare rooms at the palace.

To solve this the king began construction of a great building, a Great Library the likes of which the world had never before seen. He instructed his ministers to help him secure exotic books from around the world. He intended to have one copy of every book ever written. A tall order to be sure, but one he committed his final days to.

Purchasing books seems like a simple task, but it rapidly became more difficult as they soon learned there was another buyer out there. Some other person or power was competing with them to buy all the world's books. The race was on.

The great Chanakya was pressed into service to find out who was behind these mysterious purchases. Who was buying up the world's books. It was a simple task really for someone with a network of spies as extensive as his. After some poking around he received word that it was Germany attempting to fill their great new library in Berlin.

To his chagrin, the Germans had a headstart and were rapidly nearing completion of their library. One of his spies overheard some critical news uttered by the German king himself. Chanakya informed the king immediately.

"Your highness, I have important news about the library."

"Do you have more information on the Germans?"

"Yes, exactly. One of my spies overheard their king say something about '5 more weeks'. He didn't catch the context, but the king said it would be 'something special'."

"5 more weeks? What does that mean?"

"I didn't know at first, but I did more investigating. Our spies report some contact between Germany and the Inca. Apparently they are in the final stages of reaching an agreement for the Inca's massive collection of books. A private collector there has the largest collection of books among all the Inca, and one of the largest in the world. Estimates are that the final details will be ironed out in 5 weeks time."

"Damn! I need those Incan books to complete our library! Without it, this will all be worthless, and Germany will be recognized as having the greatest library in the world. The Inca have a massive collection. We must beat them to it!"

"Way ahead of you sire. I have contacted the curator of the Inca archives and despite his earlier negotiations with Germany he is willing to cut us a seperate deal... if the price is right."

"Anything, I must have those books, what does he want?"

"Well... he wants 50,000 Indian slaves."

The King's face turned white. "Fifty...thousand? That... that's insane... how could he request something like that..."

"It is the only way sire. He already has an oral agreement with Germany, the only thing left is to sign the contract and make the shipment of books. Dealing with us would require him going back on his word and attracting the ire of German and perhaps Incan authorities. With that many slaves he will be wealthy beyond all imagination and will have little to fear from either the Inca or Germans. It is the only way..."

                "Dear god... 50,000... thats.. thats.."

"One fifth of the population of Delhi. Yes sir."

"May Vishnu forgive me... make it so."

Chanakya carried out the order of his king, and arranged for the sale of 50,000 Indian slaves and untouchables to the Incan curator. While devestating to the economy of Delhi in the short term, it was an exceptional manauver that advanced Indian science greatly. Moreover it was a great victory over the Germans. Angry over the loss of the Incan books, the German king reportedly sold off the massive collection he had been acquiring out of sheer frustration.

Chanakya served his king well, but knew such dalliances as building massive libraries and selling Indians to foreign masters would destroy India. Chandragupta was now of age, and it was time for Chanakya to act.

                  Dear King Bimbisara,

The missionary that wandered through your borders was on it's way to Boston. It picked its road himself, I didn't tell him to cross your border. And I'm sorry that he did this without my command. But its goal was to found judaism in the american city of Boston, like I told you when we talked about it.

The missionary that you have pictured in your former letter is heading towards the Mongol empire. It's been lead by the evil barbarian leader called A.I. I'm sure you have no problems when I convert them to the One True Faith.

The evidence I deliver with this letter says enough, I assume.
I do not want to continue this debate that only brings us hate and anger.

I hope you'll read my message again, and focus on the peacefull words I've written.
Please do not continue on the path of seeking war. I do not want to counter your armies, but I will if I have to, not because the death of your armies is someting that pleases me, for it does not. My rejoy lies within the hapyness of my people and your people. With the proud nations of India and America, standing side by side. My joy is in healthy young boys who serve their nation. I do not want to see them die. Neither if they're american nor if they're indian.

But I'm afraid you've left this path, and are seeking war. But I hope that I'm wrong, and that I am the fool you said that I am. For I'd rather be a fool, who lives in peace, then be right in this matter. And I hope that it is my foolish mind that sees the warlights in your eyes. I hope that I'm a fool, but I fear that my worst nightmare will come true, resulting in the clash of the end of time.

For the end of time it will be, if your armies meet mine in battle.

May that day never come, Bimbisara.
May it never come, Bimbisara. Once you were my friend. Let's return to these old days.

To Robert LXVII, King of the Zionists

As you will discover to your detriment, I am not my father. Mother Russia has suffered for long enough at the hands of your filthy barbarism. Perhaps your feeble mind needs a reminder of the Zionist plot that killed my great-grandfather, Nicholas the Great, nee Sri Rama. He fed your fanatics and they bit off his hand! Such an atrocity shall never be forgiven, nor shall it ever be forgotten. From your own admittance, you had little say over the actions of the Zionists; if you cannot control your own flock, kindly keep your flock to yourself, and out of Mother Russia. If that Zionist shepherd takes one step into Mother Russia, I swear in the name of the wrathful Shiva, he will be strung upon the stockade till vultures tear his accursed flesh from his filthy bones!

I hope, for your own sake, that you comply.

                    • The story of Chanakya - Part 4 - The Ascendance of Chandragupta Maurya

The great Chanakya has waited 8 long years serving under the old fool Bimbisara, secretly grooming the young Chandragupta to one day assume the thrown. At last it was time to put his plans in motion.

The Great Library had just been completed and there was a great deal of murmuring among the public about King Bimbisara. Many good citizens of Delhi had to give up their slaves at the insistence of the king, and on short notice too. Many people's lives were disrupted by the massive slave trade, and for what? Books! Unknown to the insulated king a revolution was fermenting.

Chanakya knew a revolution would be bad for India, especially a revolt by the lower castes. India had been safe from such disorder for millennia due to the religious faith of the people and trust in the caste system and religious order to society. That people were so widely questioning the status quo posed risks not only to King Bimbisara but to Hinduism as a whole.

To a lesser man, the situation would look bleak. Chanakya was no lesser man. He was the greatest political mind to have ever existed. (At least the greatest we know about....but more on that later.) He quickly worked out a grand plan that would quell the potential rebellion, eliminate Bimbisara, place Chandragupta on the throne, and restore the people's faith in Hinduism. Only one of Chanakya's brilliance could pull it off, and pull it off he did.

Chanakya informed King Bimbisara of the whisperings in back alleys throughout the kingdom.

"The people are upset sire, and are preparing for action."

"Goodness, they simply do not appreciate the benefit of fine literature. Find me their leaders and I shall have them eliminated at once."

"It is no use sir, the anger is too wide spread. This rebellion is a hydra, cut off the head and another one will grow. We need a more peaceful solution. Perhaps... since they do not appreciate the great thing you've done for them by building that library, you should show them. Hold a grand opening celebration for the library, invite the masses. Fill the day with pomp and pageantry and free food. Everyone loves free food. Invite your whole family, the people will once again respect your rule."

"That seems odd... the mighty Chanakya suggesting a peaceful resolution... but your brilliance has never been limited to one tactic or another. Whether peaceful or brutal, your suggestions are always successful. Very well, I shall begin preparing the celebration."

It was to be a grand spectacle. The likes of which India had not seen since the marriage of Sita and Nicholas (Rama). All the king's family would be present, Chanakya made extra sure of that. As he suspected the planned celebration did not soften the planning for rebellion, in fact it simply emboldened them, giving them a perfect opportunity to strike. Many rebel leaders would be present at the event.

While Bimbisara planned the event, Chanakya retreated to his secret lab underneath the palace. Written down in an obscure Veda, Chanakya discovered the recipe for a magic powder of untold power. Intensely flammable and volatile this mysterious black powder exploded when in contact with fire. Chanakya prepared a massive batch of it for the ceremony. One day people will dispute the nature of that day's events, but the wisdom of the ancient Indians as told in the Vedas was far more advanced than anyone would later recognize or admit...but more on that later.

Chanakya was kept informed by his spies who had infiltrated the rebels continually, and learned they planned to strike right after King Bimbisara finished his speech. However Bimbisara would never get the opportunity to finish it...

On the appointed day all the preparations had been made. The rebels were ready for their revolt. Bimbisara was ready for his speech. Chandragupta had been briefed. The stage had been 'prepared'. Chanakya was ready to put everything in motion, a master pupeteer applying his craft.

Many speeches were given that day, many musical performances, and other entertainment meant to pacify the masses. Bimbisara's whole family were in attendance, including his heirs. All according to plan. At last the old king began to speak.

Taking that as his cue, the king's nephew, 22nd in line for the throne, Chandragupta politely excused himself from the stage to search for a rest room. The King continued to speak but was unaware that the entire stage was sitting on several barrels of the deadly explosive powder Chanakya had developed. Half way through his speech Chanakya lit the fuse that would ignite all 8 barrels of it. One barrel per year he had served under the bumbling king.

The fuse was long enough to give Chanakya time to get clear, but short enough to blow before the speech finished. As with most of Chanakya's schemes, things came together perfectly....

                      KA-BOOM!!!

A massive explosion rocked Delhi. The stage was flattened. There was no trace of the king or his family, and the crowd were knocked flat on the ground by the force of the explosion. They had never seen anything like this. An explosion of this sort had never before been witnessed in India or anywhere else, they were terrified.

Chanakya had placed several trusted men in the crowd and this was the moment they waited for. Before panic broke out, these plants spoke up loudly.

"The gods! The gods have exacted their vengeance upon King Bimbisara!"

"Our prayers have been answered! The people are victorious!"

                      "His crimes have been punished!"

                      "Who will lead us now?!"

Just then, Chandragupta emerges on the scene. Seemingly bewildered by what just happened, but resolute and acting the part of a strong, calming leader.

Again shouts from the crowd, "Look! A member of the royal family survives!"

"It is the King's nephew! He will lead us!"

                      "Yes! Lead us!"

"It is the will of the gods!"

Chandragupta rose to the occasion and made a stunning speech that ignited the assembled masses. He mourned the dead, he promised to make India strong, he promised to end slavery, he invoked the gods, he won over all the audience. Just as planned.

The people, rebels and loyalists alike rallied behind Chandragupta and put their ill feelings toward Bimbisara behind them. Once more they embraced their faith, having witnessed a direct manifestation of Vishnu's will (or so they thought), such a miraculous act of the gods led to complete loyalty by the people. Hinduism spread faster and further than it ever had before. Chandragupta was recognized as the chosen one of the gods. He was soon installed officially as King, and Chanakya was made his prime minister.

                      Chanakya smiled.

                      • Hail Chandragupta, leader of the Indians,

may your reign be long and proper.
                        I send greetings from America!
I hope you will not follow the path of your uncle, that almost resulted in peace between America and India.
But since you are a wise man, I'm sure this will not be the case.

Let the internal business of the Russians not become a war between the Indian and the American.
Let his internal war not become our war.

I send you condoleances for your uncle. He was my friend, after all. Even after everything that happened, I still concidered him my friend.
My your gods protect you from the paths he took near his end.

Robert LXVII, eternal leader of the Americans.

Nope, I want things to stay as they are. Change is bad. Keep your current leader in place

                            • Lord Gustaf is weak from consumption. His health is failing. I fear he will not last many years. Adolphe is waiting in the shadows to take power, if he does a long reign will follow as Adolphe has many promising sons and is extremely devious. The only way for Ulrich or one of the factions to win is if they gain support from outside. Which is the very reason Adolphe wishes to isolate Germany as much as possible.
