Incan Sailors Circumnavigate Globe!
Cuzco, Incan Empire - Incan sailors have circled the globe proving once and for all that the world was indeed round (something that had been proven by Indian scientists centuries ago). This event marks the next in a long line of Incan accomplishments, including the revamping of the Incan military as well as the construction of the Ankgor Wat temple in Ollantaytambo. The latest trend is supposedly a result of the Great World War in which a collection of Russian and Spanish soldiers actually stayed within the Inca Empire following the peace treaty, and the new leadership has attributed its recent success to these new Incans. "There is no proof that this is the case" says General Mendoza of Spain "The Incan leadership makes this claim, but I would suggest that it is a political move rather than an historic fact." Regardless; the new era of peace and prosperity within the Incan Empire is a very real thing. The most likely reason for its success could be its newfound use of Confucian law. The idea of a round Terra, and the prospect of another continent have piqued the interest of many Spanish citizens, who have taken it upon themselves to found the city of Murcia on the western coast of Spain (in Leon). Queen Isabella has made it quite public that she plans some sort of expedition in the near future; "I have sent General De Soto on a peaceful exploration mission throughout the entire continent, and upon his return we will begin discussing maritime exploration."

Isabella Ushers in a "Spanish Generation of Peace."
Madrid - Queen Isabella de Castilla has called for the Spanish Generation of Peace to prevail in Spain following a bloody civil war, a war against the barbarian Khazars, and finally a Great World War. These three events resulted in the death of three Kings and a horrible debt that Spain is just starting to come out of. "While I may have been critical of her predecessor, King Sancho Diaz, the latest moves by the Queen have been amazingly successful; she has crushed the debt, she has finished the roads, she has defeated the Khazars - she has proven to be quite the adept Monarch" said Count/Duke Gaspar Guzman de Olivares, who had been an opponent of the royal family. She has made a comitment to peace in-line with the concept of French pacifism; the movement started following the failure of French forces to defend the American city of Boston during the Great World War. This sees the search for knowledge and understanding as superior to military success and war. In her latest move Isabella has promised to end the debt once and for all, claiming that her recent (and successful) solution was only temporary, and she wanted to usher in "real change to our economy." The trend towards peaceful, knowledge-based, rule has seen success in India as well under the rule of Ashoka, who has converted to Confucianism and ushered a new Confucian era into effect in India.
Khazar Camp Razed by Spanish Forces!
Northern Territories - Spanish forces under the command of General Hernan Cortez finally destroyed the barbarian camp of Khazar that had been responsible for attacks against Spanish settlements to the north and west of Spain. "Our forces were quite effective against the barbarian army" General Mendoza said "Cortez did a great job destroying the camp, and then whiping out the last vestiges of these vermin once and for all." The assault on the city, which was burned to the ground, and whose inhabitants were slaughtered mercilessly, came just as Spanish borders expanded and roads to Spanish frontier towns were completed, connecting them with the capital Madrid.
The Heroic Epic "El Cid, El Campeador, y El Rey" Finished in Madrid!
Madrid - A work comissioned by King Sancho Diaz has finally been completed. A massive thousand page poem describing the rise of King Rodrigo Diaz, has been finished by a team of Spanish poets assembled by King Sancho Diaz; "I knew El Cid quite well" said former Foreign Minister Bartolo Calderon de Cordoba "And I have read much of the poem, it does a great justice to a great and peaceful Monarch... he would have loved it." The poem describes how El Cid was orphaned by a battle close to the village of Vivar (located south of Seville), when his father fell to Andalusian troops in a war begun by Tyrant Bainor de Castilla (who also happens to be Queen Isabella's grandfather). El Cid went on to join the movement against Bainor, and eventually defeated King Carlos Dodabella (disowned father of King Sancho) in the battle of Madrid. El Cid went on to become King of Leon and Aragon when he married Princess Elena of Aragon, it was after her death during childbirth and El Cid's subsequent suicide, King Sancho Diaz assumed the throne. Many are questioning the decision to omit the end of El Cid's life from the work, but one poet who worked on the epic said the team felt it would be in "bad taste."
Murcia Founded in Leon.
Murcia - The city of Murcia has been founded as part of Isabella's planned maritime exploration. "When news of a new continent came there was no other option" said on settler "Our purpose here is solely to establish missions to the new continent, it is a very exciting time." The Queen has decreed that half of the able-bodied workforce of Spain (and all of her Incan slaves) will be moved to Murcia to help chop down the great forests in order to construct the fleet. An admiral has not yet been determined, as Spain has no navy, but has called for all merchants who operate ships to come to the city of Madrid to be interviewed.

"Viking" Ships Sunk Near Yaroslav'l
Yaroslav'l, Russia - The birthplace of Christianity experienced a great naval battle off the coastline as the Indian navy pounded what has been described as a "Viking" fleet of warships. "They were headed this way, I am sure" said Russian citizen Vasily Kierko "But by the hand of the lord the Indian fleet came to our rescue." Amid news of a new continent, rumors ran thick that the "Viking" ship may have come from the new continent and may be evidence of far-flung empires there. At this point that is all speculation; "The best explaination is that these ships were pirates, potentially attempting to sack the city of Yarslov'l in order to steal from its Christian churches, which tend to be ornate" Foreign Minister Salvador Duarte de Sevilla explained.
Continental Exploration Achieves Open Borders with France, Germany and America!
Robington, America - Under the command of General De Soto (who Isabella has given diplomatic powers to) a Spanish exploratory force has finally mapped out the nations of France, Germany and America; but it wasn't easy. "Obviously France, Germany and America held us in a low regard" said General De Soto "so it was important for us to be accomodating, it was apparent their countries needed some help so we offered technology in exchange for passage." While the move recieved some criticism in Madrid, De Soto promises that the countries pose no threat to Spain what-so-ever. "These countries are quite small, it is no wonder they felt threatened by powerhouses like India and Russia." The trip brought the soldiers down the western coast of India (which launched their own trip to Spain during the same period of time), they then toured France, Germany and America finally returning to India in time to celebrate the battles of Boston and Madras. Their trip then took them into Russia, where they spent some time. "The visit to Russia was the best part of the trip" said General De Soto, who converted to Christianity while there, "I had some private discussions with the Russian leadership, and we came to some meaningful conclusions." While in Russia the troops toured the city of Novogrod, and payed homage to the fallen Russian, Incan, and English troops who fought for it during the War.
Islam Takes Hold in Sri Nikovaleavsky!
Sri Nikovaleavsky, Russia - A new faith has emerged in the Russian Empire, this time it's Islam. The religion was founded by a man named Mohammed, who was by all accounts either a Jew or Christian, because Islam is an extention of the two faiths. They see Mohammed as the last in a long line of prophets (which include Abraham, and Jesus), and as a seal he speaks for God, or Allah. No news yet on how Russian Tsar Peter will respond to this new faith, but we can be sure it won't lead to another World War... well, we can hope at least.

To Be A Peasant!
By Ferdinand de Aragon
Ferdinand de Aragon is the eldest son of Queen Isabella de Castilla and King Sancho Diaz de Aragon. He is the Duke of Aragon, and is next in line for the throne.
Oh to be a peasant! Well, not literally, but in the sense that freedom is wasted on the peasantry. You see I live life like cattle, I am herded with the other cattle (or in this case nobles) and forced to do the bidding of the master. Whatever she likes, she gets. Its unquestioned. And much like cattle my future is set into stone; now I won't be a delicious steak one day, but I will be King. I have to be King, it doesn't matter that I'd rather write poetry, or paint, or perform in the plays in Barcelona or Seville. That doesn't matter. People believe that being King is so great, and wonderful, but I've seen what happens to the King. My father died in battle, defending Spain. My mother was trapped in an estate for her entire life, and quite frankly it has driven her mad! Because of some ridiculous law, written thousands of years ago, I must assume the throne, for it is my "rightful" place. Afterwards I will be married to some woman I don't know from some country I'm sure I'd hate if I visited just to assure what's "best for Spain." It's rubbish! And what a time for me to live in! Great works of art have been created in the German city of Hamburg, I'm sure you've never heard of it because the royalty here would have you think of these people as swine, as Jewish filth, but the great works by Thepsis are said to be amazing. The new Epic of El Cid has been finished, there are new theatres everywhere, and where must I be? I can't go to Hamburg, they'd never allow that, no I must stay in the palace and read about treaties, and law, and I must train to fight, I must study military planning, and everything else royal and proper. Oh to be a peasant! You have such freedom, you have no idea, I yearn to be like you!
