Hopefully Kuno's problems will be sorted. It seems he needs to get a good desktop PC and not use a laptop. His connection is fast so it must be hardware related, graphics card etc...
In game Kuno is a good friendly civ to mine and I don't want to lose him out of the game. I'm at a total disadvantage with AI playing my first session and still, after me playing the second session, I only have one city and am totally surrounded by AI civs with absolutlely no where to build - will elaborate in my story thread.
But with the Kuno issue we need to have a group position.
If he gets a new comp for next session we obviously play on assuming that the problem will be fixed.
If he doesn't have a new comp OR the problem continues AFTER he gets a new comp I'm afraid my vote is to start a new game without Kuno AND without AI.
Sorry. But there is no way this game will survive if it continues with Kuno's dropouts every other turn. Around 3000BC turns are taking up to 10 mins because of this.
If I was Kuno I wouldn't expect everyone to continue to put up with this. Again, sorry Kuno but we have a fantastic group of players here and the game is in jeopardy."Old age and skill will overcome youth and treachery. "

Another thing is, if we do continue this game, the AI rule I proposed (ie no contact, just peace and wrack off) is now working totally against me. I now have one city, totally surrounded by AI, and no where to go until good boats arrive. I have to accept this but playing a multi player game surrounded by TWO or THREE AI civs is a bit absurd, particularly if, according to my own rule (!), I can't take them out..."Old age and skill will overcome youth and treachery. Well in case you didn't know, they are only AI because their players were absent this session (ya know, like you were last session). So hopefully they will return soon and you can work out a deal with them. We only had AI so we could accomodate absent people (like you), so if we didn't have AI and just played with the people who were present at the first session then you wouldn't be in this game. Nor would Capo or a few others. So it was done as a favor to you, and its still being done as a favor to the folks who were unable to make it yesterday.
Whatever becomes of Kuno's situation I wouldn't recommend restarting. That'd be ridiculous. We did it in the Epic of Man game, played a session or two, then people wanted to restart again. Now this game comes and a session or two into it restarting comes up again. Why? So we can play another session and restart again? **** that. No ****ing way.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012

It doesn't make for a good game.
I only suggest a restart if Kuno cant play because of connection issues. Do you agree? Playing on with his civ as another AI would not be so good... else we need new players for Russia; PLUS Mongolia and Inca - assuming Capo eventually takes Spain.
For the record I didn't want that restart in the Epic of Man - you, ozzy screwed up that game by your ridiculous criticisms on YourGod just to save your neck... that game could have easily played on with ONE AI if necessary.
That restart was forced on us by you.
Further restarts were due to Firaxis password issues and can't be put down to me.

Uh, we didn't restart because of YourGod, we played on. We restarted long before that because of 77's password issues and dropping out of the game. Thats why when we restarted I specifically told everyone in the game NOT to put on a password. But you did anyways and the game was screwed up again.
I never had anything to do with any restart, go back and read if you don't remember.
I don't like the idea of restarts, I say we play on. But we've been over this before, and we said we should play on last week. So I don't want to have to go over this every single week. On a more chipper note, check out the 4th story here: http://civilization4.net/
I've been playing around with the flying camera just now and it is pretty damn sweet. I think we can get some great visuals to accompany our stories and I highly recommend people to make good use of this.
I just posted a story using this new feature. Check it out.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012

Kuno has a 2nd pc. He should just get that pc up and running. Kuno, I know you can do it!
I say that AI's that are still AI's for the 3rd game can be dealt with in any way we want.
Perhaps we can even agree to that rule if an AI hasn't been human 2 sessions after each other.Formerly known as "CyberShy"

AS for the AI, I'd really love it if we could find humans but if not and a civ never gets run by a human for a few more sessions then I agree = we kill those land grabbing b@star3s outright!"Old age and skill will overcome youth and treachery. "

But Ozzy and Kuno could both join during last session.
Everybody should reboot his / her pc before te session starts.
Kuno should turn off about everything, manual moves, special detailed terrain, etc. etc.Formerly known as "CyberShy"

I just upgraded to SP2, so hopefully that will help with my connection issues in general. Maybe today or tomorrow we can do another test and I can try out my new service pack.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012
