should we declare that we will play on fridays and saturdays mainly? possibly sundays? that is the best. of course if we end up with euros only, our schedule would be alot more flexible

regardless, are the americans and easterners still interested? I feel that we should perhaps reduce the number of timezones. I fear that as it is theres too many...
2 timezones would be far more flexible and workable.

unfortunately someone would have to sit the game out... perhaps we should divide the world between us?

euros and americans start one game and easterners start another. though considering theres only 2 easterners, that wouldnt really be very fair... unless they can get some friends rallied.

i'm too hungry to start planning and organizing. but I might have hooked one friend that would be interested. he's not an über civ4 player (yet), but thats not what diplo games are about I gather. and he's GMT +1, same as me and cyber.

For diplo games you need a moment in the week in which you are 98% sure that you can play every week.
Since the game might take 6-8 weeks.

For that reason I think it's no good to try to get our timeframes as flexible as possible, to find out later, during the game, that one or more persons actually can't make it.

Perhaps it's better to have a game among people from the same continent for that reason, though if someone can play friday afternoon every week and someone else from another timezone can play every week friday evening, there's no reason to exclude other timezones I think.

Further: people must realise that if you start in a diplo game you should continue to play, even if things aren't really going well. Try to get an ally or something, who might get you back on track.

I'm really eager to start playing as well. I've mailed 3 friends and asked them to join us. I hope they want to.

The way I see it, we could have a 5 man spot SATRUDAY'S from 14:00 EST - 20:00 EST (19:00 GMT - 01:00 GMT) that wwould include 1) Capo 2) LzPrst 3) Ozzy 4) Cybershy 5) Deity Dude.

If the 4 of you could confirm that time, we could probably iron everything else out for a next week start time.

But 5 players is not enough imho for a diplo game.

Deity doesn't seem to have responded in a while, I think it would do us well to see when he is available, he is a great diplogamer. Well, sort of.

I am a little discouraged, and I think Ozzy can agree with me on this, that we haven't had more of a showing from some of the other diplogamers. I don't know why they haven't shown up yet, because it would be helpful. I'm going to see if I can find any of them actually, for instance Ljube lives in Serbia (I think) so that means he may have a compatible schedule with Cybershy, because I think there's an hour difference there.

So, I'm going to go into the old threads and search people out who may have a good schedule.

Anyone who doesn't wind up in this particular game should try and schedule another one though with the other players, or at least stick around to be subs if they can make it. We need to get more people who stick around in the Diplogame CivGroup, part of the reason we are having such difficulty getting players is because people forget about diplogames because they couldn't get into the first one they tried to play.

at best I'll be able to bring in 3 maybe even 4 players. most likely one or two.

I can anytime during the weekends. mostly. exceptions do occur, but nothing we cant work around.

I wanted England, Victoria (Fin/Exp).

I can play USA Fri or Sat arvos/nights = Aust Sat or Sun early during the day for me = GMT Fri or Sat 2000/2100

Anyways I think we are getting to the point where we may have too many cooks in the kitchen.

I think what we should do is decide which day we will be playing on. Right now its confusing because we are working with the entire week. I think this day should be Friday because that is the best day for me to play.

I am available on Tuesdays and Sundays as well, but I would rather not play on Sunday because that is the one day my girlfriend and I are both off of work.

I feel if we had this game on Friday it would be best for everyone.

So, what day should we play on?
