Good to hear BJ.
Glad to have you on board when your rdy, just forwad me your msn or icq number so we can organise games. Currently we have a 10 player saturday game going.
I am trying to organise a weeknight game but that may take a few weeks, seems everyone is busy learning civ, hehee. At present im playing as much MP as i can with anyone who will play. Im not fussy.

Well not sure if we will be starting a new game as 4 people are turning up to continue another game we started. Fell free to join in as the AI nations. There a bit weaker, but still fun.
I think we might reserve next wednesday as the start of a new big game. Still need a few more players yet.

We should consider using the map that gives us heaps of small islands. I dont think 6 players is enough for a good MP game without having a few AI.....1 or 2 players drop out or get beaten early leaves us with 3 or 4 players and new players who have been defeated must sit out all further sessions until we restart.
Also on the game we played last night I could have taken your capital very early as you were going the worker or settler first policy. Its a very risky move in MP and easy to spot when you get near someones capital 1000 years after the start and its still level 1. I didnt do it as your are the host If it works you have a great head start on everyone else but if it doesnt we more or less have to restart as you are the host. I really think that we need a garrison limit on the capital of 1 defensive unit at all times even from the start. Why should I not take out someones capital if they leave it undefended while they are trying to gain an advantage on everyone else? Why should I not take out your capital because you are the host? 90% of the time you are going to get away with it.
Well apart from that I am really enjoying these games but I think we should consider having a handful of players in our games so other guys may continue to play when they have been defeated. If we use island maps no one is going to get a great advantage and if anyone tries to take out AI countries other people can gang up on them.

Yes, I curse my lack of MP experience. I forgot how ruthless and unflinching another human player could be-because I am so used to the relatively soft and understanding AI ! I can't believe that you wouldn't even consider letting me expand northwards instead of Eastwards-I could have kept out of your hair and been a 'worthy vassal' ! Be warned that my vengeful ancestors will be on the lookout for you in the next game-and I WILL be better prepared this time out!
Yours,

hahaha sorry mate...but you planted a city right where I wanted to right in front of my warrior The island is a crappy island hardly big enough for 1 player. But it is important to defend you capital rather than look for an early game advantage...I could have taken Mikes capital last night as he built a worker to start with and went exploring with his warrior...i suggest all players build and extra warrior from the start. I am more than happy to remain at peace with someone but not if they go for the quick early advantage over everyone else.
