When I try loading it, it says cannot load version 302 expected version 300 or lower. And yes, I have the map script.

    Playing on 3.19.

hmmm, i just tried loading my 4000BC game file and it loaded correctly for me, i am playing up-to-date 3.19 bts too.

        heres my build info:

        civ version: 319
        save version: 302
        build version: 3.1.9.0 (128100)
        build date: thu may 14 09:17:10 2009
        build: final release

is yours the same as mine?

my 3.19 patch came from here, i assume its the same exact one fireaxis released.

I'll try this if my comp can handle it.

            It says
            civ version: 301
            save version: 300
            build version: 3.1.9.0 (128100)

That's after patching, I'll try reinstalling it when I get a chance to get it to work. The build date/version are correct but the civ/save versions are off.

yep your playing the 3.01 civ version (need 3.19) and save verision 300 (need 302), the patch didnt install correctly for you. try turning off all of you security software, uninstall the game completely except your profile and saves if you want then re-install the whole game, come here for the 3.19 patch (theres a sticky for it) with your security software off while doing this, after installing come here and patch it up, then start the game and note the build info, it should now be the same, goodluck.

i had trouble at first correctly installing the 3.19 patch, thats what i did to make it work.

                heres my 1000 A.D. save.

                my crossover info:

                rep. gov't
                780 A.D. turn 456 (152)
                160 beakers @ 60%
-1 gold with 8 gold in treasury

the turn afterward i made even for gold/turn.

edit: kinda sucks, we get our own continent, no trading til astronomy , the big landmass has like 5 civs i think. did a retire this time to see where everyones at and how they are doing, theres like 5-6 civs close to us, not much resources on our continent tho, at least we have one horse .

Well, I can post more of a walkthrough later if necessary but here's my initial thoughts on it, keep in mind I'm only at 3k BC so not even close to the first marker of 1 ad.

                  1. Grass floodplains are lame, not only is there no way to distinguish them other than by looking over the map, but they're too much food.

                  2. The lack of barbarians hinders exploration, there's no way to get woodsman 2 promotions.

                  3. Aggressive/Protective doesn't make sense to me, I can guess your reasoning behind using a civ with that combination but really... the map is a builder map more than anything (not to mention agg/pro is a horrible combo, tokugawa used to be so much better).

                  4. Starting hut for mysticism, I know this is random but, that certainly made my game easy.

i have flood plains set to "rare-any flatland", the reason for this is because there are no deserts, they are not that abundant considering the size of map. you can see them better if you toggle food/hammer display on and off if you'd like.

i like to play the AI, not barbs. from my experience thus far all they do is either wipe out the AI or hinder them, since they have less effect on human players and its easier for us to expand with them on and we can fog bust to avoid them all together i leave them off, giving a balance potential for the AI. remember once this games done, woodans picking one assuming hes playing this too like he said, im sure his settings will be alot more like your own, this is a comparison of my map/settings style then his.

i picked tokugawa since i got stuck with 4 other AI's last game, they rarely put the human player on his own continent, i did not rig this, what you see is what came out. i picked him for the added bonuses to units for warring with what i thought to be an overcrowded continent, no such luck for us, til astronomy we are by ourselves.

getting mysticism right away does help out getting an early religion, it happens.

goodluck, it will get alot more interesting once you get astronomy, the goal now is to get big enough to hold that continent and conquer them if you wish hoping to not get out-teched on the way too, there are 6 civs in close proximity of us, plus they have a nice chunk of land to exploit

                      Thanks for this, Brandon.

I'm probably not going to be able to start until the weekend. This is turning out to be a slammed work week for me.

I'm not a great builder but here you go, forgot to save at 1 ad and my autosaves are every 5 turns because I didn't change that from reinstalling yet so you get a 10 ad save. Figured it was better to save at 10 than go replay 3 turns. I do have a few session starts, civ crashed on me once, I loaded once around 400 bc to check out your 1000 ad save you posted, and I closed civ out entirely a couple times.

                        Double holy city=$

I've got good potential to have a triple holy city too, depending on how much the AI wants to cooperate with not researching Divine Right and my luck with rigging where the holy city goes. I got lucky with this one, I mistimed it and my missionary would have reached the city over by the silver too late, but I got some natural spread. Optics first, then dealing with a potential third religion.

I decided to go SE but don't really have it up and running yet, it was probably a bad choice given how few food resources there are, but oh well. Getting beaten to the hanging gardens hurt too, health poor continent.

Edit, I looked at your game Brandon... you shouldn't delay alphabet like that, building research owns.

Since I was the OP in the other thread that started this, I'll give it a shot, will take awhile since playtime is limited.

Going to be a totally different game with no barbs/spies/events/tech trading but with city flipping after conquest and complete kills (6 options different from what I usually play - but that's the beauty of Civ).

I'll try to remember and post the updates.

Did you get the same error I had? If so, uninstalling bts and reinstalling 3.19 worked.
