  • Well, that's far better than I could have said it, so... what he said!
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
    - John 13:34-35 (NRSV)

          • Solver, did you update the first post with that info? IT doesn't look like it.
And, where did you get that info from? (or rather where was it made public?)

Here's to hoping the bombardment system it uses is new as well...

                  • It's the July PC Gamer indeed. The summary has been posted over at CFC.

I haven't updated the first post yet, but will get to it shortly

I'm sorry, but "we pasted Blake's code into the game" isn't terribly impressive. And IIRC the version of his AI they included in Warlords 2.08 knew how to go for culture victories already.

                      • I would suggest that you at least wait to see the game before you pass judgment. And IIRC, the version in 2.08 couldn't go for culture yet - I believe that 2.08 only included strictly domestic economy changes (city placement + workers), and the other stuff came later.

So this would be like a unit that has automatic Medic II but pitiful defense (needing an escort)?

This one sounds neat--it's a useful way of getting your hands on Oil if you have none in your territory, although maybe it will require an advance that comes later than Combustion? (e.g. Ecology)

                            • Summary of new information(i think most of this should be new):

                              Companies:
Standard Ethanol, for example, consumes corn, sugar, or rice and produces oil. (not just corn)

Aluminum, Inc., grants access to aluminium, if you have a supply of coal.

Creative Constructions turns obsolete strategic resources like iron, copper, stone, or marble into extra production for your cities.

                              Misc info:
There is a new way to win the game through religion and diplomacy.

There are on-map ocean trade routes that enhance the importance of your navy.

There is a reworked late-game technology tree.

There are colonies splitting from their motherland to form new civilizations.

                              Espionage:
There are new buildings to support your intelligence strategy like the Security Bureau that make it harder for foreign spies to perform missions in your cities, or the Intelligence Agency that enhances espionage spending.

You may send your agents into foreign territory to blow up terrain improvements and buildings, poisoning water supplies, or stealing gold. Spies can also influence foreign affairs by spreading their civilization's culture into their target city, or even by coercing their target leader to switch civics or state religions! Finally, spies can provide defense against enemy espionage by performing counterespionage missions.
