  • I think that civ3 had the same William (the Silent, the first stewart) as the civ4 picture shows.

Willem van Oranje (William of Orange) is thé Dutch Father of the Fatherland. I think the 2nd choise could only be Wilhelmina.

    • Is there any specific info on High Powered Artillery? Is this just a beefed up version of Artillery? I'm hoping there will be something interesting about this. New units can be cool, but it will be a bit boring if all that's new is a higher strength rating.

With the graphic I presume it's going to have a movement of 2.

I see he erroneously mentioned Tokugawa as a "new" leader in that same sentence along with Gilgamesh and Justinian. Think it was a slipup when meaning a second Japanese leader?

Also, it confirms that random events can be turned on or off.

No. In the interview on the next page those three leaders are mentioned along with Sitting Bull.

Must be some kind of slip-up. Tokugawa's been in since vanilla.

                  • It looks like the Byzantines and Sumerians will be in, unless Justinian is just another Roman leader and Gilgamesh is a Babylonian leader - though that would be stupid since it would exclude them from being leaders of Byzantium and Sumer in a future expansion.

IMHO, there are plenty of better options for other Roman and Babylonian leaders than those two anyway, Marcus Aurelius and Nebuchadnezzar to name one of each off the top of my head.

                        • On the Apolstolic Palace from eurogamer:
But with the Apostolic Palace, one of the things you can trigger is 'don't go to war with me' - so you will literally make sure that they'll take their weapons and put it behind their back - all the way until they discover communism.
This means the Palace may very well be hyper powerful when warmongers are nearby. I wonder if you can change state religion to bypass such constraints.

                          • Probably - the diplomatic agreements that are made available with the Apostolic Palace have only ever been mentioned in connection with civs of the same state religion.

Napoleon has never been Ind/Org. In vanilla, he's Agg/Ind, and in Warlords, he's Cha/Org, his old trait combination having been reassigned to Stalin. Ind/Org is, for both vanilla and Warlords, the trait combination for Franklin Roosevelt.
