Expansion 2 news?

A simple request to those that are testing the next expansion: get Firaxis to include an option to enable Wonder movies in multiplayer.

Yeah, I know its silly but I really miss this reward/feedback from completing a Wonder when playing multiplayer, so please ask Firaxis to enable them !

Now space cities aren't quite there yet though.

Well they probably do not care about killing the marine life to achieve this.

They are also murdering whales - which most of the rest of the world abhore, at least the civilized part.

If I could, I would do to the Japanese what they do to whales.

Yes - sorry I got on my high horse after just watching the world news.

Japan want to murder 400 whales by the end of March.

Whale hunting proves they are still a barbarric medieval nation.

You know, I think the role of the barbarians could be expanded in an expansion.

I'd like to pay off Attila the Hun so he won't sack my cities. I want to bribe the Goths to attack my neighbors. I'd like cohesive, distinctive barbarian tribes, not just generic black-flagged baddies.

Do you have any idea how much you are going to wind up the people you play with if you had this the case. They would just sit back, yawning, whilst you watched The Parthenon assemble before your eyes for a few minutes. Put it this way - you'd be none too popular

Nah, I’d simply like the option. Obviously all players would have to agree to this in the game setup. I understand it won't suite the MTV short attention span generation.

I’ll give you an example; a couple of weekends ago I was trying to get my two brothers interested in Civ4. They both enjoyed Civ2 multiplayer, so-so about Civ3.

This was their first real experience of Civ 4, both were disappointed that they didn’t get the reward of a movie for building the Wonder that they successfully competed for. In fact one of them, not seeing the line of text in the corner of the screen before it disappeared,wasn’t sure that he actually had completed the wonder. A definite anti-climax.

If there are players who play by e-mail, playing a turn as infrequently as every few hours, I don’t think it’s a problem to incorporate the option to be rewarded by viewing the movie.

The more options the better.

[Edit]: my guess is that if it were rats, or some other animal that is not cute we would not see this same level of enthusiasism for commiting genocide. Unfortuantely, "Save the Rat Day" doesn't get much fan-faire

I guess it is more to do with whales being endangered than them being cute.
